ENROLMENT INFORMATION
Arriving to Training
We kindly ask that you arrive 10 minutes prior to the start time of your course to ensure training
can start on time. There are a number of administrative tasks to complete before training can
commence.

Learners must be available for the entire duration of training. Those who arrive late or are
absent from important sections of the course may receive a not competent result.

Unique Student Identifier

From 1 January 2015 everyone who undertakes Nationally Recognised Training delivered by a
Registered Training Organisation must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).

If you have not yet applied for a USI you will need to do so prior to attending training. This is a
very quick and painless process. Please visit www.usi.gov.au and follow the link to create your
USI. If you have forgotten your USI, follow the link to retrieve your number.

Identification
In addition to providing us with your USI, you will need one of the following forms of
identification. Please note that should you be unable to provide a USI and a form of
identification on the day of your course, we will be unable to issue your certificate.
• Driver’s Licence
• Medicare Card
• Australian Passport
• Visa (with Non-Australian Passport) for international students
• Birth Certificate (Australian)
• Certificate of Registration by Descent
• Citizenship Certificate
• Immi Card

Identification Learners under 18

Learners under the age of 18 must have a consent form completed by a parent/guardian. This
can be handed to the trainer on the day. Failure to supply this form may result in being denied
access to training. Consent forms can be found at www.thefirstaidgroup.com.au/learner (Select
‘Learner Resources’)

Ladies, we love your lipstick but unfortunately CPR manikins don't, so please remove lipstick/lip
gloss before attending the course.

If you suffer an allergy to latex products please let us know on arrival. If you require reading
glasses, ensure you have these with you.

Physical Requirements
Please note that first aid competency standards do require a level of physical ability to meet the
evidence requirements for assessment. These standards relate to the level of performance
required to provide resuscitation and respond to an emergency situation where there may be
risk to life.

You will be required to undertake activities on the floor. This includes performing two minutes of
uninterrupted CPR on an adult and a baby CPR manikin.

Due to the potential risk to health and safety where a nominated first aider, or worker with duty
of care, does not have the ability to perform resuscitation and/or first aid to the performance
standard it is not appropriate to issue a statement of attainment to participants who are
physically unable to meet the assessment requirements.

In cases where a learner has attended a resuscitation or first aid course but is unable to meet
the full requirements of the competency, we may provide that learner with a certificate of
attendance, or similar, as an indication of their participation in the course.

If you feel that you have any current health issues which would prevent you from undertaking
such activities, you must contact your training provider prior to your course to discuss the
options available to you.

Issuing of Certificates (Statement of Attainment)

Certificates are issued by The First Aid Group (RTO 32268).
Please allow up to 14 days from the date of the course to receive your certificate. Electronic
copies (PDF) can be provided. All certificates are issued to the learner who completed the
training. This is a requirement of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs)
2015. Should an employer require a copy of the certificate, it is the learner’s responsibility to
ensure this happens.

Online Learning
If you have enrolled in a course which includes online learning, this must be completed prior to
attending the face-to-face component of your training. Please ensure you provide plenty of time
to complete the online learning and do not leave it until the day before your course.
You will need to print off and sign the online learning completion certificate and provide this to
your trainer at the beginning of your face-to-face component.
