Thesis Summary:

In e-learning the course recommender system has been evolved, which aims at
predicting the best combination of courses selected by students. It provides how the
combination of clustering algorithm- Simple K-means Algorithm is useful in Course
Recommender system. I proposed the architecture for the course prediction & how the
data flow through the system. This system predicts the best combination of the subject
i.e. the subject in which the students are more interested.

Software: Weka Tool

Minor Project Summary:

This project is aimed at trace out the location of the person in difficulty with the help
GPS system. It sends a help message to pre-registered contact with the click of a button.

Workflow:
 User Registration: One-time registration of the numbers (contacts) should be
made into the system.
 User Log-in: The pre-registered users should only be able to log in to the system.
 Help Message Transmission: A pre-written help message should reach the
registered users with the click of an “Activate” button.
 GPS Service: GPS should be turned on to retrieve and trace the location of the
user in need of help.

Software: Java Development Kit 1.6, Android SDK 4.2, Eclipse IDE + Android

Major Project Summary:

Online employability is a web based application that establishes a network between the
institute and the students. This test provides a platform where different institutes can
register their students under them and can access their performances. Each Institute
need not to develop individual software, rather they can register on the site and enter
the exam details and lists of the students. Students can appear the exam without going
to the physical destination and they can view their results.

HADOOP Project:

Project Title: Aviation Data Analysis using Hive

Team Size: 2

The objective of the aviation project is to interpret Hive execution framework in detail
on larger dataset. There are 29 columns in the data set such as year, month, flight
number etc.
Steps of execution:
1. Raw data to be transferred in HDFS
2. Pre-processing using PIG
3. Transferred pre-processed data from pig to hive using Hcatalog
4. Preprocessing using HIVE
5. Visualizing using Tableau by connecting Hive with Tableau to visualize the data
and generate reports.
6. As I’m using Cloudera, I can easily connect Hive Cloudera Hadoop with Tableau.
After this you can use the report generating tool for visualization.
