Yes it is possible to make a 3G android support 4G sim card. There are different
methods for different phones or processors.
Method 1: Mediatek Processor Only

Yes, It is Possible, The first thing You need to check is the sim supports on 4G
network or also support 3G / 2G. If sim supports the 2G and 3G then you can use
it without any settings but ONLY 3G services.
**4G cannot be used on 3G phone as Hardware is not compatible. But still if you
want to make use of 4G only sim card on 3G phone then you have to do ( try) it
with Engineering mode:
First you need to Check your system chip set by installing the System info APP
or you can search for your device on this website How To change switch 2G 3G to
4G (Know Review Tips). OR continue if you already know.

Short, Simple Answer NO!
Long answer, You can't just change some software and get a new band.
Internally some core hardwares would be needed to changed. So to be able to
receive the 4G signal. For a 3G device, 4G would be an alien language so Airtel 3G sim?
whatever software you put, it can't get an alien language.

Really sorry , but this is not possible as such , now see 3G and 4G are different
types of Radios , like Bluetooth or Wi-Fi etc...
These can only be done by having some kind of hardware in place to access the
Radio of 4G in it's specific bandwidth and frequency which cannot be done
using any other type of hardware .
So I think you should think of some other options to use 4G
