Elizabeth Grosz is a professor of women's studies at Duke University and has

written on French philosophers, including Jacques Lacan, Jacques Derrida, Michel


Foucault, Luce Irigaray and Gilles Deleuze.

Biography

Grosz earned a Ph.D. from the Department of General Philosophy at the University of
Sydney, where she was a lecturer and senior lecturer from 1978 to 1991. In 1992,
she moved to Monash University, where she was an associate professor and a
professor of comparative literature, critical theory and philosophy. From 1999 to
2001, she was a professor of comparative literature and English at the State
University of New York at Buffalo. She taught in Women's and Gender Studies at
Rutgers University from 2002 until joining Duke University in 2012.[1]
