The undersigned affiant, being duly sworn, doposes and says:
1)That: The affiant, Det. Peter Morgan, is a sworn member of the Waterbury Police Department having over
(22) twenty-two years of police training and experience, and at all times listed herein, was acting in his official
capacity as a police officer of the City of Waterbury. The affiant is currently assigned to the Criminal
Investigations Bureau and has conducted numerous investigations resulting in the arrest and conviction of
those persons involved.
2)That: On 12/4/17 at approximately 2025 hrs. Waterbury Police officers were dispatched to the area of 1730
‘Thomaston Ave. on a reported car accident. Responding officers were informed by dispatch that the vehicle
that crashed was on fire, and the Fire Department reported that there were wires down across the street. Upon
officers arrival, they observed a Nissan Maxima with CT marker plate AB79130 on fire and heavily smoking
from the hood, Waterbury Fire Department was on scene to extinguish the flames. Once officers were to gain
access to the crash scene, they spoke with Mr. Dominique Pittman D.0.B. 11/16/90 who stated that he had
been driving the vehicle at the time of the accident. Officers also located an unresponsive female in the front
passenger seat of the Maxima, AMR Medic David Cleary pronounced the female deceased at the scene at
2039 hours. The female, who has a D.O.B. of 10/21/01, will from this point forward be identified as Female
Victim (FV). (FV) had an apparent bullet wound to one of her hands and a possible bullet wound to her head.

somewhere on Thomaston Ave. near Durable Radiator. Mr. Pittman stated that after they picked the boyfriend
up, and while they were driving on Thomaston Ave. towards Huntingdon Ave. Mr. Pittman stated that (FV) and
her boyfriend started having a verbal argument inside the vehicle. Mr. Pittman stated that he tried calming the
two down, but that they continued arguing. He stated that just prior to reaching the light at Huntingdon Ave. he
heard a gun shot go off from inside the vehicle. Mr. Pittman stated that he ran the red light at the intersection of
Huntingdon Ave. and Thomaston Ave. and continued to drive on Thomaston Ave. He stated that (FV) and her
boyfriend then began physically fighting and yelling. Mr. Pittman stated that he was somewhere near Waterville
Park or just past it when he heard more gun shots go off from within the vehicle. Mr. Pittman stated that at this
point he just floors the gas pedal because he does not know what is going on. Mr. Pittman stated that while he
was driving, (FV) slumped over from the passenger seat onto him causing him to lose control of the vehicle and
strike a utility pole, the front steps of 1706 Thomaston Ave., and then into another utility pole where the vehicle
‘came to rest on a cement block alongside of the road. Mr. Pittman stated that (FV) boyfriend exited the vehicle
and fled the scene on foot. He stated that he does not know the boyfriend's name, described him as a black
male wearing a black hoodie, track pants, and black shoes.
4)That: The vehicle Mr. Pittman was driving is a brown, 2004 Nissan Maxima with CT marker plate AB79130
‘and VIN 1N4BA41E64C856694 registered to him at his address at 39 Bergin Circle, Waterbury, CT. The
vehicle was secured at 1706 Thomaston Ave., Waterbury, CT until a search and seizure warrant was obtained.
5)That: An Investigator with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner responded to the scene and located a
gunshot wound to (FV) left hand, (1) one gunshot to her left cheek, and (1) one gunshot behind her left ear.
6)That: Mr, Pittman was transported to St. Mary's Hospital for medical treatment. After he was treated and
released, he agreed to go to the Detective Bureau with police to speak about the incident,
7) That: While speaking with Det. Torres, Mr. Pittman made a statement that he phoned someone after the
accident and told them that he was going to be arrested. When asked about this statement, Mr. Pittman
responded that he had a gun in his vehicle at the time of the accident and did not have a permit for it. At
time, Det. Torres advised Mr. Pittman of his Constitutional Rights, and Mr. Pittman initialed and signed an
ywledging that he wished to waive those Rights and continue answering

confronted with inconsistencies, Mr. Pittman changed his version of events to state that there was no third
person in the car at the time of the shooting, He stated that when he picked up (FV), she began yelling at him
about borrowing money from him and him buying her a winter coat as he drove towards Thomaston Ave. He
stated that (JV) had a knife with her and started cutting store scan cards he had hanging from his keys that
were in the ignition. Mr. Pittman stated that he keeps a revolver in the center console of his vehicle for
protection. He stated that (FV) knew that he had the gun and where he kept it, and that she took it out while
they argued. He was unclear about what she did with the knife at this time. He stated that he grabbed the gun
while it was in her hand and it went off. Mr. Pittman stated that he swerved the car and the gun fell to the floor.
He stated that (FV) grabbed the gun and pointed it in his direction and fired it. He stated that he was surprised
that he did not get shot. Mr. Pittman stated that the two then fought for the gun between the front seats while he
continued to drive on Thomaston Ave. He stated that as they fought for the gun, two shots went off and hit (FV)
in the head. He stated that he tried to control the vehicle and crashed after the shots. Later, when confronted
with the possibility of (FV) being pregnant with his child, or his DNA being found inside of her, Mr. Pittman then
admitted that he had been involved in a sexual relationship with (FV). He stated that he last had sex with her
around the beginning of November. Mr. Pittman now changed his story again. He now stated that (FV) was
continuously FaceTime calling him to pick her up. Mr. Pittman stated that (FV) then threatened to tell his
Girlfriend of six years about their sexual relationship. Mr. Pittman stated that he picked (FV) up near the TD
Bank downtown near the green and they drove towards Thomaston Ave. He stated that the two argued over
(FV) threats of telling his girlfriend about them. Mr. Pittman stated that during their argument, (FV) cell phone
was thrown from the vehicle on Thomaston Ave. He stated that everything else about the incident with the gun
was the same, but he did confirm that he had pulled the trigger on the gun when (FV) was shot in the head
twice. Mr. Pittman stated that the gun should still be in the car. The knife was located on the front driver's side
floor.
9)That: Mr. Pittman was out of the vehicle when officers arrived. Officers also determined that witnesses in the
area had attempted to help and had gone inside the vehicle to render aide to (FV). The gun has not been
located at this time.
40)That: This affiant confirmed through Connecticut State Police Troop A that Dominique Pittman 0.0.8.
41/16/90 does not possess a valid CT Pistol Permit.
