SYNOPSIS

The OIC was established in Rabat, Morocco in 1969, two years after the six-day war and
shortly after the al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem was set on fire. It is formerly known as the
Organisation of Islamic Conference, the OIC has a strong religious dimension that clearly
distinguishes it from other International Intergovernmental Organisation. And the main
reason for the formation of this Organisation is to emphasize good governance, the family
values protected by Islam, and human rights in the Muslim world, especially with regard
to rights of children, women and the elderly.
 Review of Literature:-
1. The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and Regional Challenges to International
Law and Security- Azin Tadjdini:-
In this article, the author has tried to point to the conceptual difference between OIC law
and general international law. The use of religious discourse and reference to religious
sources has led to a religionisation of the political landscape, and this has had broad

rejection of international law, by pointing to the supremacy of one religion, the OIC
disregards the actual pluralism that exists both within and between its member states.
