Objectives : By the end of this lesson Ss will be able to :
- recognize and use reflexive pronouns appropriately
Stage / Time Activity Procedure
Warm-up -T greets Ss:” Good morning”
Presentation 3 min -T. asks: “How are you doing?”
15 min -T uses a demonstration using the mirror to introduce the reflexive pronouns.
Context setting -T gives the mirror to a student and asks Ss to form a sentence describing
him/her.
-T: “Who looks in the mirror?” / Ss : he
-T: “Who does he see in the mirror?” / Ss: he
Brainstorming -T writes this sentence on the BB : He looks at he in the mirror.
-T asks Ss to identify the subject, the verb and the object./
T makes Ss notice the repetition of “he” in the sentence.
-T omits “he (object)” and replaces it by “himself”, T explains that “himself” is
a reflexive pronoun.
-T. elicits s the use of Reflexive pronouns then he writes the rule on the B.
Isolation and
explanation The Use : We use the reflexive pronouns when :
1- The subject and the object refer to the same person or thing.
2- We focus on the object.
3- We focus on the subject.
