Title: FIXCY: A Worker Booking Mobile Application

Problem: There are instances that customers had tasks that they can’t do by themselves alone.
Description: The product is a smartphone application named “FixCy” which means “Fixing
Emergency on the GO”. The product provides customers the ability to book a skilled worker to
help them with tasks that they cannot do by themselves – anytime and anywhere, efficiently
and effectively.
Improvement: FixCy gives users the comfort of finding the service they need at the right place
and with an affordable price.

Title: SWINEIGHTOR (Swine Weight Evaluator)

Problem: Nowadays, the double dead meat in the market has been rampant which leads to
illness for the consumers.
Description: The project is focused on the development of a mobile application that will serve
as a tool for backyard breeders of swine to automatically and scientifically compute an
approximate weight of the swine to be sold.
Improvement: Utilizing image analysis and statistical modeling, the application uses the
smartphone’s camera to capture the image of the swine and calculate its weight within
acceptable precision rate, thus giving backyard breeders a fair price for selling their swine and
avoiding potential loss of income.

Title: Design of Up-Flow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB) for

Domestic Wastewater Treatment
Problem: Nowadays, the domestic wastewater treatment has been expensive due to the
chemicals that required to make sure the water to be filtered thoroughly.
Description: This project is for the design of sewage treatment facility for Main Central office
commercial building. The UASB is a process in an anaerobic centralized industrial wastewater
or domestic treatment system achieving high removal of organic pollutants.
Improvement: The process of this project is more economical than most commonly known
aerobic treatment process in the Philippines (i.e. Sequencing Batch Reactor, Extended
Aeration Process).

Title: Design of An Acoustic Fire Suppression Equipment Utilizing

Modulated Bass Frequency Signals
Problem: Fire is considered as one of the most destructive accident in the world and as proof,
according to the Bureau of Fire Protection, fire is the number four accident-related cause of
death in the Philippines. For the fire to start, it needs to have all four components of the Fire
Tetrahedron, namely: Oxygen, heat, combusting material and the chain reaction of the three.
Conventional fire extinguishers are widely used in order to suppress fire. However, these fire
extinguishers leave chemicals, residues, hazardous enough that it could lead to casualties to
human properties of lives. Furthermore, these fire extinguishers can last only up to a maximum
of 25 seconds, which makes it less effective.
Description: The proponents have designed an acoustic fire extinguisher to replace the
conventional fire extinguishers. The design utilizes bass frequency signal and sound pressure
which terminates the heat and disturbs the oxygen from the fire tetrahedron to suppress the fire
and is supported by a battery management system and a fire classifying system to further
improve the reliability of the design.
Improvement: This design, upon testing, showed that a fire with an area of approximately 1
square meter can be extinguished in less than a second, provided that it is within the device’s
operating range of about 2 meters. Another advantage of this device over the conventional
method is that it could run up to 2 hours in continuous use.

Title: Development of Solar Powered Autonomous Arduino Based
Lake Water Analyzer
Problem: Millions of dead fish can be found in Philippines. Just like in Bulacan government
reported the issue of fish-kill in Balagtas, Bulacan that some of the fish in ponds are floating of
died tilapia. According to Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resource (BFAR) in Central Luzon
fish kill caused by the certain phenomenon of very low dissolve oxygen in water that caused
fish-kill.
Description: Development of solar powered Arduino-based fishpond monitoring device that
uses android based mobile application and Arduino mega with water sensors. The purpose of
this device is to identify the present condition of water knowing the condition of the water will
help the fishermen to improve their fishpond businesses and to see if the water is in shape for
the growers. The results are transmitted to an android phone application that is more
accessible in viewing the data which will be transmitted by the Arduino. The device will be
placed in the fishpond to see the irregularities present and to inform the owners of the fishpond.
To enable them to perform the necessary adjustment to make the water suitable for the
organism.
Improvement: Through using this device, it improves the fish pond business, energy source
will be coming from the sun and low cost.
