Object: Application for part-time job

Dear Sir,

My name is Tejas Shah and I am currently enrolled in the first year of the Graduate Diploma in
Safety and Risk Management at Memorial University. I am seeking part-time employment in St.
John’s. Attached you will find a copy of my resume.

Because I am a full time students, I can only work for a maximum of 24 hrs/week. Also, I attend
class every Thursday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Therefore, I am free to work at any time outside
that date and time, including evenings and night shifts.

As my resume indicates, my work experience entailed roles of increasing responsibility where

attention to detail, reliability, and trustworthiness were crucial. I also had the opportunity to
develop interpersonal skills while working in retail. I do not have, however, Canadian work
experience because I arrived here only a few weeks ago. I am eager to improve my current skills
and acquire much needed Canadian professional experience.
