RULES AND REGULATIONS
TOURNAMENT
● Duration of the game – 40 minutes (20 min each half) with a 5 min
break.
● Substitutions – 3 rolling substitutions can be made (A player can
be substituted and in the same match may return at any given
time)
● The matches will be 8 vs 8.
● All matches will be held in IITH Football Ground.
● All teams must have at least 11 players throughout the tournament.
● Transfer window will open after group stage. All players from
eliminated teams will be available for re-auctions.
● Players can be retained for 1/3rd of their price. Teams can retain any
number of players.
● Managers must be present during the matches along with their whole team.
● Managers are requested to reach the ground at least 15 mins prior to
kick off. If any team fails to report even after 30 mins of kick off, the
opponent team will be declared winner. (Unless any genuine issues)
● Referee’s decision will be considered final. Any quarrels over the
referee’s decision may result in a red card.
● In case of any dispute, organizers decision will be considered as the
final decision.
● Points awarded for
o Winning a match – 3 pts
o Losing a match – 0 pts
o Tied – 1 pts
● Money awarded for
o Winning match – 1 lakh
o Losing a match – 30,000
o Tied – 50,000
o Each goal – 20,000
o Hat-Trick – 30,000
o Scoring in last/first 5 mins – 15,000
● Tiebreaker – Penalties will decide the match.(For knockout stages)
● Teams are requested to stick to one single color of kit.
● Players are requested to not wear anything that could harm others
during play.
● Players are requested to manage their own equipment, organizing
will not be responsible for providing such equipment.
● Managers are requested to make their team players properly
aware of the below rules. If any doubts in the rules, please contact
the organizing committee.

BASIC GAME RULES


1. Kick Offs - May be kicked in any direction. You CAN score directly
from a kick off.
2. Direct and in-direct kicks - If a direct kick is kicked directly into the goal, a
goal is awarded but if an indirect kick is kicked directly into the goal, a goal is
NOT awarded. A goal kick will be awarded to the opponent team.
3. Goal kicks – When the ball crosses the goal-line, goal kick is awarded.
a. It can be taken from any point of the goal box. The ball must be kept on
the ground in the event of a goal kick.
b. If GK kicks into own goal it is a corner kick to opponent.
c. All Goal Kicks are DIRECT kicks.
4. Back pass – If a teammate passes the ball through his feet to his team’s
goalkeeper intentionally, the goalkeeper CANNOT collect it with his hands, he
must play with his feet only. (Note-If pass is through chest or header, goalkeeper
CAN collect it)
5. Goalkeeper Throw/Kick – When the goalkeeper collects the ball in his
hands, he must release it within 6 seconds, if he fails to do so, an indirect kick
will be awarded to the opponent team. Also, he CANNOT collect the same ball
he has dropped, doing so would be awarded an indirect kick to the opponent
team.
6. Penalty kicks - Shall be awarded if, in the referee’s opinion, a scoring opportunity
was nullified by an infraction (the infraction does not automatically result in a red
card). Penalty kicks are DIRECT kicks taken from the penalty spot outside the
box in the center of the goal.
7. Wall – In the event of direct or indirect kick, the wall must be formed at a
distance of 10 yards from the ball. Maximum of 4 players of the opponent
team can constitute the wall.
8. Hand Ball Clarification - Deliberate handling of the ball that denies a team
of an obvious goal-scoring opportunity will result in the following: (1) A penalty
kick (at the discretion of the referee) (2) A yellow or red card given to the player
committing the hand ball (at the discretion of the referee).
9. Throw ins – At the moment of delivering the ball, the thrower must:
• Face the field of play.
• Have part of each foot on the touchline or on the ground outside
the touchline.
• Throw the ball with both hands from behind and over the head
from the point where it left the field of play.
• A goal CANNOT be scored directly from a throw-in.
• All opponents must stand at least 2 yards from the point at which
the throw-in is taken.
• The ball is in play when it enters the field of play. If the ball
touches the ground before entering, the throw-in is retaken by
the same team from the same position. If the throw-in is not
taken correctly it is retaken by the opposing team.
10. Yellow / Red Cards – Foul play or misconduct can result in a yellow/red
card(s). Two yellow cards result in a red card. In case of red card, he will be
sent off from the current match and also will not be allowed to play next
match. Cards will be carried only till group stages.
11. Corner Kick - Players defending the corner kick must remain at least 10 yards
from the corner arc until the ball is in play.
12. There is NO Offside Rule.
13. Restart after goal scored will be from half way mark.
14. Goal keepers are restricted to using their hands only inside the penalty box. If he
comes out of the box, a DIRECT kick shall be awarded.
15. Players must inform the referee before leaving / entering the field after the start
of the match. If he fails to do so, a yellow card shall be awarded.
