i. 1 total station
ii. Tripod
iii. 2 Prism and Prism holder
iv. Tape
v. Plumb bob (if your prism holder does not have bubble
system)
Detailed steps:
Trigonometric Levelling:
(BM – 1)
Step 2: 1. Shoot the prism at SERF You ll determine elevation of
(BM – 1- ROD) entrance the Rod and Horizontal distance
2. Note down H.A and Z.A from point 1 to prism Rod at
and S.D SERF
N.B:
(We are doing this step to get
the H.D; as it is needed to
determine the height,
But we cannot get directly by
shooting the peak)
Step 3: 1. Shoot the peak of SERF H.A and Z.A will give you the
(BM – 1- Peak) (Manual focusing of the height of peak
stadia lines; no beeping
from Total station as
there is no prism there;
You won’t get and S.D)
2. Note down the H.A and N.B: H.A for step 2 and 3 will be
Z.A almost same (theoretically it
should be same)
We ll be determining the distance of the sphere using Law of Sines. The details of the calculation is in
your lab manual.
