ABACO TEENAGER TO HOLD ART EXHIBITION AT DOONGALIK

Bradley: "Lucas has been painting original
watercolours and acrylics since he was three.
Even at that early age his brilliance and
power with colour and brush was evident.
Lucas' preferred style is abstract, portraying
emotions and subjects in bold strokes and
slashes, ribbons and delicate etchings in the
paint itself. His art is compelling and I often
learn as much from him as I give!”
Lucas‟ mother, who introduced him to finger
painting, stated: “I am always amazed at Lu-
cas‟ talent as he displays such control and
authority over his work. Lucas has held sev-
eral exhibitions in Abaco and his work has
caught the attention of art collectors and gal-

SOME TS2018 FACTS:
This will be the 14th annual TS Art Tour by bus;
There will be two days of touring available - Saturday and
Sunday , March 17th & 18th from 9am—1.30pm;
There will four gallery stops on the Tour:
D’Aguilar Art Foundation, Doongalik Studios, Hillside House,
and The Current at Baha Mar which will be a stop on the tour
for the very first time;
There will be food and drink at each of the stops;
Tickets will be available by February 14 at Doongalik, The
Place for Art, and the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas;
Patron parking and the bus depot will be at
Campbell’s Maritime Centre next to Xavier’s School;
Buses will leave PROMPTLY at 9am;
Each bus will have a dedicated and knowledgeable Tour
Guide on board to provide you with interesting info and excit-
ing dialogue about the Bahamian Art scene;

We were honoured to have a booth at the 3rd An-
nual Tru Tru Festival last weekend where a
‟splendiferous‟ time was had by all—young and
old, Bahamian and visitor, snake and birds!!
Congratulations to the Bahamas Hotel and Tour-
ism Association for another successful event and
check out the fun activities on their Tru Tru Baha-
mian Festival facebook page!!
We thank all of those creatives who signed up for
the first ever „Orange Economy‟ database survey
which will be powered by Dennis Deveaux of
KPMG! The online survey will be available shortly
on the Creative Nassau website—Stay tuned!
We also caught up with some special people dur-

Creative Nassau has had an amazing few weeks of proud
moments and collaborative achievements with our many
valuable partners! In this newsletter we would like to high-
light the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with
the Department of Forestry in the Ministry of the Environ-
ment & Housing, which will allow us to work together to
ensure the mapping, research, protection and sustainability
of the indigenous straw palms and other foliage used in the
Bahamian straw craft
industry.
