OP-AMP AND LINEAR IC’S LABORATORY 2017-18

EXPERIMENT NO: 3 R = 1.2KΩ ≈ 1KΩ (standard value)

TO DESIGN AND VERIFY THE OUTPUT WAVEFORM OF Take R1 = R = 1KΩ
AN OP-AMP RC PHASE SHIFT AMPLIFIER FOR A Av = -Rf /R1 , but Av ≥ -29
DESIRED FREQUENCY. Rf ≥ 29*1*1.2K = 37.6KΩ
Choose Pot of 50K for Rf
AIM: To design and test RC Phase Shift oscillator using IC μa741.
CIRCUIT DIAGRAM:
OBJECTIVE:
 The students will acquire the knowledge on designing RC IC μA741

PROCEDURE:
1. Connections are made as shown in the circuit diagram.
2. The power supply is switched on.
3. Output obtained at Op-amp is set as a reference waveform
and is observed in CRO. CONCLUSION:
4. Later note down the phase shift obtained at θ1, θ2 and θ3
with respect to reference waveform.
5. Frequency can be calculated using formula F =1/T

Practical OUTCOMES: After completion of this lab experiment the student
could be able to,
CALCULATION:  To design and test RC Phase Shift oscillator for different
Calculation is carried by cross multiplication method, frequency.
Eg. 1 Cycle = 360°  Student will have knowledge on how waveforms are shifted
0.9 (0.9division on X axis =1Cycle ) = 360° (reference waveform) at different points.
0.3(division) = ?
= (360*0.3)/0.9 = 120°
