Procedure A
1. Differentiate between Mandatory sign (safety) warning sign and Mandatory sign (Prohibition)
Record the name of the Safety and / or Prohibition signs and in the which workshop you found
them.

classes of fire it would distinguish

Class B Fire involving fire liquid and gases such as petrol, diesel and oils.
4. (a) State the remedial actions for Rescue of Electrical Shock Victim.
a. Turn off the power sources.
b. Get help by calling 911.
c. Find non-conductive material such as stick or wood to push away the victim from the
area.
d. Do CPR if necessary (if the victim not breathing or do not have pulse)
e. Check for other injury such as bleeding, apply pressure and elevate the wound.
f. Wait for 911 to arrive.
g. Follow up.
(b) Demonstrate to instructor what you should do if victim is unconscious but breathing.
1. Students to read and Instructor to explain the general safety information in Attachment 1 on
SAFETY, WARNING and PRECAUTION.
Students were informed to wear ear protections while the engine is in operation. This is due to noise
produced over than 85dB which is dangerous and can cause permanent damage to our hearing. Turbojet
without suppressor can produce more than 115dB.
b. Danger Zone
The air intake zones is the zones are clear before start the engine. The minimum distance is shown in
figure 1 and figure 2 for turbo propeller aircraft and jet aircraft respectively. Also need to remind that
loose object can be drawn into the propeller and air intakes. The next one is propeller rotation zones. First
make clear the area of anyone or object near the propeller. Second is to know where the propellers are on
any aircraft you are approaching. Never approach or walk through the propeller area on any aircraft,
running or not unless your job requires you to be there. Always stay behind the wing when approaching
or departing from any fixed wing aircraft. Be vigilant for spectators or observer around aircraft. Lastly is
the exhaust zone. The dangers of high velocity exhaust is need to be reminded always. Operator should
take precaution such as power hazard areas, maintenance activity and airport environment. Power hazard
areas is the area illustrate horizontal extent of the engine wake hazard and etc.
During refueling and defueling, we need to prepare firefighting equipment. Two ground wires from
tiedown rings on the airplane to approved ground stakes must be used to prevent accidental disconnection
of one ground wire. Make sure the battery switch is turned off, unless otherwise specified. Ground the
fueling first we need to ground the airplane, ground vehicle for hose cart to same ground as aircraft. Bond
vehicle for hose cart to airplane and bond the refuel nozzle to airplane. While defueling, ground aircraft to
proper ground or stake. Battery switch turned off and turn fuel selector valve off. Remove the caps from
tank then insert defueling nozzle. Remove as much as fuel as possible. Remove the drain valve from
bottom of fuel tank and drain remaining fuel. During oxygen system servicing, we need to know that oil,
grease and other lubricant in contact with high pressure create a serious fire hazard so such contact
needed to be avoided. Do not smoking or open flame near airplane while working. During charging,
remove access panel, remove oxygen filler valve dust cap and connect charging cylinder line from oxygen
service cart to filler valve. Ground airplane before charging. Also know that cylinder that empty is
contaminated and needed to be disassembled, inspected and cleaned by the FAA approved facility. If
cylinder completely empty, do not charge. Lastly slowly open valve on oxygen service cart and charge
airplane oxygen bottle to correct pressure and correct temperatures.
For maintenance and servicing of hydraulic system, make sure the hydraulic power is depressurized. Wear
PPE when do pressure test. Hydraulic fluid is dangerous to us so all these rules are needed to be obey.
Prevent contact with skin, eyes and clothes. Do not breath on fumes, keep hydraulic away with naked
flames. If contacted with hydraulic fluid, immediately clean with cold water. Clean cloth if contaminated.
In storm conditions, when atmospheric electrical activity it is a must to stop grounding servicing operation,
remove headset, don’t touch metal parts and any connection to aircraft. Lastly inspect the aircraft after
lightning strikes. While aircraft jacking, make sure the ground safety locks correctly installed on the landing
gear which this is to prevent unwanted movement of the landing gear. Make sure also the aircraft is stable
before you lift it with jacks. You must put the hydraulic jack in position from behind to prevent damage to
the sensors of the weight and balance system and lastly before lift or lower the aircraft, make sure that there
is no equipment adjacent to it that can cause damage and no other work continue. For aircraft parking, park
on the flat surface. Make sure the wheels of the nose landing gear are on the aircraft axis and the aircraft
points into the wind. Make sure the flaps, slats, spoilers and thrust reversers are retracted. Put the wheel
clocks in position

1. lnstructor to explain the operation of the UniKL MIAT Hangar Fire Detection and Extinguishing
System (Refer to Attachment 2).
Instructors explained that UniKL Miat hangar has alarm system which consists of 7 break glass call
points, 7 alarm bells, 10 iltraviolet and infrared detectors, 10 UV/IV and deluge valve control panels, and
10 flow switch with address cards.
