Skills & Abilities

ORGANIZATION
· It is essential that I keep an up to date calendar due to the many timelines that high school juniors and seniors have.
· Maintain the College and Career Center website that I built so the information is always current.
· I host approximately 30 College Admission Officers every year in my office. I need to plan their visits so that they are
here during times where the most students can attend their presentations.
· Every October is the practice SAT (PSAT) for the juniors. I order all materials, advertise the test to the students, hire
proctors to administer the test and oversee the testing on exam day to make sure that there are no issues. It’s also my
responsibility to collect all the completed exams, organize them, complete the administration forms and mail them back
to College Board for scoring.
· Awards night is every May. I organize the entire events – one night for seniors and one for underclassmen. I send out
ballots to teachers, make over 400 award certificates, address and mail invitations, set up the venue, and recruit
presenters. I also design and order all plaques for the senior awards.

COMMUNICATION
· Confident and skilled public speaker.
· Deliver presentations all school year to all grade levels regarding college and career readiness.
· One on one meetings with parents and students to discuss grades, future courses and college options. It is imperative
that I am able to clearly communicate so both the parent and student have a clear understanding of graduation
requirements as well as college requirements.
· Present at grade level parent nights. I provide handouts to those in attendance and speak on the topics of college and
career planning and requirements.
· I collaborate with the teachers and administration all school year regarding my presentations and the best time to enter
classrooms and/or take groups of students out for college application workshops and financial aid workshops.
