03.28.1992 - Los Angeles, CA, A&M Studios

audio/video recording: ?
info: Ron Wood holds a listening party for his Slide On This album at A&M Studios, with Phil Spector and Ju Ju Hounds among the
guests.

03.29.1992 - Los Angeles, CA, Redondo Beach, Total Access Studios

audio/video recording: audio
set: Take a Look at the Guy
info: Ronnie Wood with Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds record a song Take a Look at the Guy from Ronnie's solo album I've Got
My Own Album To Do at Total Access Studios.
NOTE (2005 - Eddie Ashworth Interview w. ChopAway.com): Q: Can you please tell us something about recording Take A Look At The Guy w/ Izzy,
Ron Wood & Ian McLagan? One of the great evenings of my career. Someone had been in contact with Ronny and found out he was open to recording
with Izzy. There was this big release party for Ronny's "Slip on This" album at A&M Studios one night, so we got set up at Total Access studios in
advance to record a song with Izzy and Ron. Then we all went up to A&M and hung out the party for a couple of hours. It was a real Hollywood scene.
Even Phil Spector was there, holding out his hand like a pistol and pretending to shoot people who pissed him off!! Anyway, as the party was winding
down, I got the word that Ron would be ready to record after the party. Charlie and I drove back to Redondo and waited, for quite a while actually.
Apparently, Ron went back to his pad and decided to watch "Spartacus" in its entirety, while Izzy, Jimmy and Alan waited. Finally, we got the call at
the studio that the movie had finished and everyone was on their way down. This was sometime after midnight. Finally, the crew showed up. Ron's
charming wife, Jo, helped him carry in a bewildering array of alcohol (a fifth of vodka, case of beer, some kind of expensive brandy). We were already
set up with everyone else's sound, so we took a few minutes to get Ron dialed in. I believe we recorded the basic track of Ronny's "Take a Look at the
Guy" live in a couple of takes. Izzy and Ron's vocal were overdubbed live simultaneously. That was kind of tricky, because they were in the same room
and Izzy sings kind of quietly and Ron is loud, so there was a lot of Ron in Izzy's vocal track. I will never forget the playback of that track after we
recorded the vocals. I was sitting at the board, adjusting the faders as everyone listened. I felt a tap on my shoulder, and it was Ron, grinning like a
loon with his drink swaying precariously in his hand, giving be a big thumbs up. Quite a thrill!! Ian's keyboards were recorded a couple of weeks later
during his sessions at Total Access. Kind of funny, it took him a while to remember the parts that he originated.!...".

06.03.1992 - Chicago, IL, Chicago Studios

audio/video recording: video [incomplete]
set: Got Away
info: MTV visited Ju Ju Hounds in Chicago Studios where they were recording the debut album. The band introduced one of the new
songs called Got Away. It was later put as a bonus song on japanese edition of the album and also on b-side of Shuffle It All single.

09.23.1992 - Chicago, IL, The Avalon

audio/video recording: ?
info: The first concert in the history of Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds.
NEWSPAPER ADDS: STRADLIN'S HOUNDS DIG IN FOR 1ST SHOW (September 23, 1992 by Jim DeRogatis): Chicago Sun-Times - Izzy Stradlin
and the Ju Ju Hounds; Rights of the Accused 9:30 tonight Avalon Niteclub, 959 W. Belmont Cover, $6 (312) 472-3020 Guitarist Izzy Stradlin, a
founding member and primary songwriter of Guns N' Roses, will perform publicly for the first time tonight with his new band, the Ju Ju Hounds, at the
Avalon Niteclub. A high school buddy of singer Axl Rose, Stradlin was known as the quiet, sober member of Guns N' Roses. He rarely gave interviews
and often traveled separately from the band, but he wrote some of its best songs, including "Patience" and "Mr. Brownstone." Stradlin quit the group
suddenly last November as it was preparing to tour in support of "Use Your Illusion I & II." He returned home to Lafayette, Ind., and spent a lot of
time riding his motorcycle until he began working on new songs with his friend, bassist Jimmy Ashhurst. "The best thing about this is, it's not a
complicated thing," Stradlin said in his record company bio. "It was fun." Most of the band's self-titled Geffen debut was recorded in Chicago. The
album will be released Oct. 13, and the group has been in town for the past few weeks filming a video and rehearsing for a European tour that begins
next week. The Ju Ju Hounds' set in the intimate confines of the Avalon will be their only appearance in the United States before a major tour begins
next year. "This should end the rumor that Izzy didn't like to tour and didn't like to do videos," said Denise Cox, the band's publicist. "Izzy Stradlin and
the Ju Ju Hounds" is a (STAR) (STAR) (STAR) (STAR)-star disc that rocks harder than most of the two bloated "Use Your Illusion" albums and easily
ranks with the best music Guns N' Roses has recorded. Stradlin wrote eight of the 10 songs, which combine the heroin-blues feel of the Rolling Stones'
"Exile on Main Street" with the punk aggression of the New York Dolls. The album is rounded off with a furious cover of Toots & the Maytals'
"Pressure Drop," which breaks down into the original's reggae groove at the end, and Ronnie Wood's "Take a Look at the Guy," which features a duet
between Stradlin and Wood and includes Wood's former Faces bandmate Ian McLagan on organ. Although the album features a host of other guests
ranging from Maxine Waters on backing vocals to Nicky Hopkins on keyboards, the Ju Ju Hounds perform as a no-nonsense quartet onstage. Stradlin,
in dreadlocks, plays rhythm guitar and sings in a voice that recalls Keith Richards' endearing rasp. Ashhurst adds backing vocals, former Georgia
Satellites guitarist Rick Richards plays lead guitar and Charlie "Chalo" Quintana, a veteran of Bob Dylan's touring band, drums. Copyright 1992

09.30.1992 - Paris, France, Espace Orano

audio/video recording: audio, video
set: Came Unglued, Bucket O' Trouble, Cuttin' The Rug, Highway 49, Shuffle It All, Crackin' Up, Time Gone By, How Will It Go,
Gotta Wanna Go, Somebody Knockin', Train Tracks, Take A Look At The Guy, Pressure Drop, Wipeout, Been A Fix, Pills,
Goodnight Tonight
info: The band opened the concert with fast rock tune Came Unglued which all french fans knew from Pressure Drop EP, released
two weeks before the show. Because the long play album wasn't released yet, the audience didn't know most of the songs. That's why
Ju Ju Hounds played lot of covers including Highway 49 by Howlin' Wolf, The Surfaris' Wipeout, Ronnie Wood's Take a Look At The
Guy or punk version of Bo Diddley's Pills and also a song called Goodnight Tonight which Guns N' Roses played in early years.
REVIEW ( Here's a short review of the show by french fan nicknamed Kik): "I remeber nothing about the second show in Elysées Montmartre except
that I was disappointed that The Wildhearts that should have been present was not there. The first concert took place in a little place called Espace
Ornano that has disappeared now. Good concert, Iz with the dread locks and its Keith Richards voice style, the drummer with the maracas, the
bassman with its beginning in Shuffle It All, the buttleneack on Rick Richards guitar. The problem was that the album wasn't out yet but I have bought
the EP with Pressure Drop. I remember that I known only two tracks of the set. Me and the crowd we all were waiting for a guns track like Pretty Tied
Up or You Ain't The First. A little bit disappointed. But it was one of my very first concert and that was great".

10.02.1992 - Hamburg, Germany, Grosse Freiheit 36

opening act: Paranois
audio/video recording: ?
info: After the concert Chalo sit down at the bar and later on the rest of the band joined him.

10.05.1992 - Munich, Germany, Nachtwerk

audio/video recording: ?
REVIEW: I was working for MTV Europe at the time and needed to spend a year at the MTV office in Munich. I was familiar with Izzy from his work
with GNR, but had not heard his new record. I went to the concert as I received free tickets and stood up front slightly to the left of stage. I was very
pleasantly surprised when I realized that Rick Richards played with Izzy right in front of me, as I had seen the Georgia Satellites several times and
liked them a lot. I remember enjoying the concert very much and would hav gone to see Izzy again, but the occasion never arose.

10.07.1992 - Amsterdam, Holland, Melkweg

Go, Rockin' Daddy, Train Tracks, Pressure Drop, Guitar Solo, Little Red Rooster, Amazing Grace / Highway 49, Can't Hear 'Em,
Pills, Been A Fix, Goodnight Tonight, Wipeout, Somebody Knockin', Take A Look At The Guy

10.09.1992 - London, England, Mean Fiddler

audio/video recording: audio, video
set: Came Unglued, Bucket O' Trouble, Cuttin' The Rug, Crackin' Up, Time Gone By, How Will It Go, Shuffle It All, Jivin' Sister
Fanny, Rockin' Daddy, Gotta Wanna Go, Train Tracks, Pressure Drop, Been A Fix , Pills, Goodnight Tonight, Take A Look At The
Guy, Somebody Knockin', Can't Hear 'Em, Wipeout
info: Three days before releasing the debut album Ju Ju Hounds played a show in small club called Mean Fiddler somewhere in
northern-west of London. The shows started at 8 p.m. Izzy with Gibson weared blue shirt, jeans and a black hat. Take a Look at the
Guy was sang together by Richards and Stradlin. How Will It Go was missed in the original documented set and was also played at
this show - probably after Time Gone By. The touts standing before the Mean Fiddler wanted 100 pounds for a ticket to get and see
this show.
REVIEW (The review was written by Matt Grest and printed in Controversy fanzine): "Things have certainly changed for the ex-Guns N' Roses six-
stringer in the last 14 months. From his farewell performance with GN'R at Wembley on 31 August 1991 in front of 72,000 people to this - his last date
on a brief 4-date European jaunt in front of a capacity Mean Fiddler crowd of 500. From the word go you could see Izzy was enjoying his new role as
band leader and frontman as the show kicked into life with the first single to be released in this country - Pressure Drop - a cover of the Toots and the
Maytals reggae classic. The Izzyfied version is certainly a far cry from the loose reggae groove of the original, with Izzy belting out a heads down
rocker that could very well turn out to be a classic. The Ju Ju Hounds proved themselves to be a band of high pedigree and msot importantly, of great
talent. Rick Richardson (former Georgia Satellites) on lead guitar was a joy to the senses as he effortlessly carved out the solos, whilst the rhythm
section of Charlie Quintina (drummer for Bob Dylan) and Jimmy Ashurst (former Broken Bones bassist) maintained the groove, ably assisted by Izzy
on rhythm guitar and that familiar rasping voice. The main set included the majority of the material from the Pressure Drop EP and the eponymous
debut album. The highlights were the laid back blues/reggae of Can't Hear 'Em, the rockin' Train Tracks and the Ronnie Wood composition Take A
Look At The Guy. For the encore, Rick Richards took over the microphone for a cover of the Bo Diddley tune, Pills. This version was almost certainly
inspired by the New York Dolls version of the song, as out went the laid back blues of the original as the band upped the tempo (and the volume) and
literally stormed through the song. The night was rounded off with a song that I thought had been forgotten long ago - Goodnight. Guns N' Roses
performed the same song way back on 1 March 1986 at the Roxy, Los Angeles. All in all, it was a great evening. Although there is zero chance of Izzy
and the Ju Ju Hounds reaching the dizzy heights of GN'R, Izzy was having fun, and it showed. He said absolutely nothing during the show except for
the title of each song, although this was not surprising. This guy wears his heart on his sleeve and that heart is pure rock 'n' roll."

10.21.1992 - ?, Newcastle, Australia

audience: 500
audio/video recording: ?
set: Crackin' Up, Take a Look at the Guy, Pressure Drop, Cuttin' The Rug, Somebody Knockin', Shuffle It All
info: The set isn't complete and probably not in right order. Ju Ju Hounds are back from Japan to continue the australian tour. Many
australian fans were waiting for some GNR tunes, same as it was in Japan or Europe, Stradlin: "In Australia, there was a guy in just
about every front row yelling for Dust N' Bones or something, and I'm hitting a chord every time they shout, going, 'What?!'. I can
understand people wanting to hear that stuff - we were gonna rehearse some songs - but in GN'R, I didn't have any singles out. I wrote
Patience but I didn't sing it. We just figured, 'Fuck it'. I don't miss those GN'R songs cos the stuff we've got now is better - better
written, better to play. It's totally freeform; we break things down, extend them. If I come in late on a verse or miss it, we'll just look at
each other and Rick'll keep going, do a solo or something". A really funny (scary) thing happened to Izzy after the show: "This kid
came up after the gig in Newcastle, and goes, 'Will you hit me?' I'm like, 'What? I'll shake your hand, man, have a guitar pick', but he
wanted me to hit him! That was a weird request".
IZZY STRADLES NEWCASTLE (by Steve Mascord.): Concert review from "time off" - a free street newspaper in Brisbane Australia, October 1992.
Last Wednesday night, Izzy Stradlin' was 160Km from Newcastle and a million miles from care - ie Guns N' Roses. Last year's farcical Rock in Rio
Festival, where his Guns N' Roses cohorts showed advanced signs for megastar paranoia for the first time, and its 150,000 crowds must have seemed
like some long-departed personal incarnation as Stradlin and his thinly-veiled Rolling Stones tribute band crusied throught their set before 500 people
on a cold, wet Newcastle night. Hired equipment, modest lights, a slightly disapointing - if vocal - crowd; it was hardly paradise city but you got the
inpression Keith Richards II wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Stradlin will never be flamboyant or effusive, but for the first time I can remember
I actually saw him smile. Make no mistake about the Ju Ju Hounds - they are no more than a garage band of Stones and southern rock afficianados
who, throught the good fortune that one of their members is a rock God, played some of their first gigs before a 200 a night in Japan instead of a the
Rose and Thistle on the corner of Main and Calder in Boise, Idaho. With a hotch potch of low slung and unconforming Stonesy coolness, they aren't
even as accessable as guitarist Rick Richard's former outfit, the Georgia Satellites, were two years ago. And they broke up because no-one gave a shit.
The key to the Ju Ju Hounds is the fact that covers in their set, the stone's "crakin' up", Ronnie Woods "Take a look at the Guy" and even the reggae
number "Pressure Drop" sound like originals. Izzy plays for himself and doesn't give a shit if you think it's derivative. He's already a millionaire. And
how would the shyest member of the world's most ostentatious band handles the fronting of his own outfit?? Well ..... shyly. The Indiana native never
seems to look a fan in the face and spends breaks meekly staring up or down, saying only gems like "this one's called 'Cuttin' the rug'." But, like I said,
he smiles. With Richards handling lead breaks, former Broken Homes basseman Ashhurst just kinda prowling and Drummer Charlie Quintana always
looking for that real big bang, the Hounds are best taken with a few beers and maybe a funny cigarette or two. "Somebody Knockin", "Shuffle It All",

"Cuttin' The Rug" - stage front or elbow on the bar, you're still gonna enjoy 'em without needing to glue your eyes to the stage for fear of missing
something. And just like Gn'R Lies turned some fresh faces onto the likes of Aerosmith and Rose Tattoo, Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds visibly
stunned the palates of 500 Novocastrians on Wednesday. They liked it, chanting their approval and refraining from making gunners requests, proving
wrong that psudes no doubts say to each other about them. Izzy's gonna do himself a lot of good with this project, no matter how long it lasts, but he's
going to broaden the musical education of thousands along the way. Who needs a trillion bucks when you can be in the tightest, coolest, most
entertaining garage band on the planet, anyway?

set: Highway 49, Pressure Drop, Came Unglued, Cuttin' The Rug, Somebody Knockin', Crackin' Up, Can't Hear 'Em, Pipeline
info: The set isn't complete and probably not in right order. A rare performance of 60's classic called Pipeline in way as Johnny
Thunders used to play it.
ARTICLE.This is a part of an article from RIP, April 1993 Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds: Single-Gun Theory (by Murray Engleheart): Three
shows into the Ju Ju Hounds' Australian tour The General Bourke Hotel, west of Sydney, was packed. Reggae pulsed gently from the PA, and punters
in Slayer and GN'R T-shirts mingled with the curious. At 11:45 the Hounds hit the stage and, without the keyboard orchestration that was an element
of their studio work, proceeded to peel paint from the walls and skin from ear canals. Pauses between songs were felled with chants of, "Izzy, Izzy,
Izzy," and you could tell the guy almost wnted to run behind the amps and pinch himself before throwing one more cooling drink over those at the
front. Rick Richards' commanding, overdriven guitar powered the band through Howlin' Wolf's "Highway 49," a blistering version of "Pressure Drop,"
"Came Unglued," "Cuttin' a Rug" and "Somebody Knocking." The band's reggae element was well represented by "Crackin' Up" and "Can't Hear
'Em," and they probably would have been content to stay in that grove for the entire evening. The inclusion in th encore of the '60s classic "Pipeline"
confirmed my Johnny Thunders theories, as he covered that song on his *So Alone* album. The set clicked in at a flat-out hour and fifteen or maybe
hour and twenty minutes. Not bad for a man who had been extremely ill a few days before. "I got sick in London, really, really sick," Izzy explained
after the show, a cassette player that filled the room with more reggae sitting on the chair beside him. "I was just run down, I suppose. I'm just kicking
it now. I saw a Chinese herbalist. This guy did shiatsu on me and shit. Today he worked me over big time. It's kind of painful actually. I think the whole
thing with those guys is that they clean you out and let your body heal itself as opposed to having you eat a bunch of drugs to try to combat what your
body would do anyway. It's working. I had some acupuncture, too, in Japan. I'd never tried that before. It was kinda strange." The previous night
someone had grabbed Izzy's hat during the show which is just about as blasphemous as attempting to nab AC/DC's Brian Johnson's skull warmer. The
incident began innocently enough--or so it seemed. "He got up onstage like three times right?" Izzy related. "I was like, that's cool. He's having some
fun, he's dancing, showing off for his buddies. The fourth time he got up, he grabbed my hat, and everybody just attacked him. It's my only hat I got on
tour, so I figure fuck that!" Finding the guy shouldn't be too difficult, either, not with hunks of his hair all over the monitors. "I just grabbed him by the
back of the head, because I'm playing guitar with one hand," Izzy continued. "I grabbed him, and all his hair came out and got tangled up in my guitar.
It was like a bunch of hay. I felt kind of bad, you know. Fuck, a chunk of scalp hanging off. That must have hurt, man." Izzy Stradlin is a warm, funny
guy, but you can't pick people's fans for them--like the dude who stood next to me during the night's show and told his friends that no one could have as
much fun as Stradlin seemed to be and be straight. Fact is, he's clean these days, though his doctor told him to give up cigarettes. The guitarist is a
keen surfer, and he commented to somebody that last time he was in Sydney, he didn't even know we had beaches.

Sister Fanny, Somebody Knockin', Shuffle It All, Train Tracks, Been A Fix, Pressure Drop, Highway 49, Pills, Take A Look at the

info: Chalo plays a really long intro before Came Unglued. After Bucket O' Trouble one of the fans screamed 'Slash!!' and everybody
started to laugh but Izzy just introduced another song. He changed the lines in Cuttin' The Rug from 'I'm feelin' lucky...' into 'I'm feelin
horny, cause I've got the will'. It took some time for the band to switch from accoustic guitars in Time Gone By into electric in Rocker.
After Jivin' Sister Fanny Izzy said: "So it's called Shuffle... it's a new single coming out". The single was released on week later. And
after Shuffle It All some of the fans were screaming for GN'R song: 'play November Rain' but Izzy just answered: "This is about
smokin' and rollin'!!" and Ju Ju's played Train Tracks. Been A Fix is introduced as "Aaa... Been a Fix... been a bitch...". After Highway
49 Izzy introduced the band. At the end of Wipeout the band played a little bit of Satisfaction which closed the set.

before the first show of european leg the band spent at Stockholm's Sheraton Hotel jamming and preapring for the No Sleep Till
Dublin Tour. The set of this show isn't complete - Bucket O' Trouble is the only known song played at this show. Izzy: "In Stockholm,
we started with Bucket O' Trouble and everyone was in a different fucking key, man! After the first few bars you could feel your
stomach turning; it was bad. I was looking over thinking, I don't know who's in the right key, but when we came to the verse,
somehow everybody went back to the right key, the A. It was just one of those things. Rick's going, 'Maybe we should just do that
every night, start it out all fucked-up and then click into the A!'. It happens. You gotta flow with it".

set: Bucket O' Trouble, Cuttin' the Rug, Jivin' Sister Fanny, Shuffle It All, Time Gone By, Pressure Drop
info: The set isn't complete. These are the only known songs played at this show. During Pressure Drop one of the norwegian fans ran
into the stage to sing the song with Izzy. After awhile the security took him off the stage.
KNUT ZIGGY UNNEBERG REVIEW (Oslo, April 2007): Izzy was always my favourite in Guns. By the time the gig at Sentrum scene finally was
about to materialize, I had kind of missed out on seeing Izzy with Guns three times already. So I was exited to say at least… We got to Sentrum scene
about an hour before show time. When they started playing reggae music over the PA system I kind of sensed something was about to happened. And
out of the blue, Izzy and the gang stormed the stage and ripped into Bucket O' Trouble! Watching it, I realised Izzy played the lead guitar on the fill
in's on Bucket O' T. Fuckin amazingly cool! Next song was Cuttin' the Rug. By now it struck me how warm & tight the band sounded. Even my aunt
couldn't help but jump like crazy for most of the show! Don't remember the exact set list from here on. Songs that I remember particularly to this day
are Jivin Sister Fanny, Shuffle it All, Time gone Bye and Pressure Drop. Pressure Drop was the last song before the encore. When they started playing
it, my little brother jumped on stage and ran over to Izzy's mic. He was covering a couple of the JuJu songs at the time and obviously thought singing
along with Iz and the band was the most natural thing in the world. Izzy just smiled and let him sing a couple of lines with him. The security guys didn't
find it quit so funny though. They threw him out… Looking back on the gig some 15' years later, I can easily say it was one of the best gigs I ever saw.
Like the JuJu record, it was such a feel good thing. And finally, after having missed out on Izzy with GNR 3 times, standing 1/2 meter from my hero
wasn't too bad…

Somebody Knockin', Take A Look At The Guy, Train Tracks, Pressure Drop, Guitar Solo, Little Red Rooster, Amazing Grace /
Highway 49, Wipeout, Pills, Goodnight Tonight
info: The band stayed at Milan Hilton Hotel. A great show with a really loud italian audience. Izzy was in very good vocal condition,
he sang very raw which made the set really great. After Cuttin' The Rug Izzy's said "Alright, thank You" and the band pushed play
with Jivin' Sister Fanny, while the fans started clapping their hands. Rick played a fantastic solo at the beginning of Crackin' Up.
Excellent performance of Rocker - this song always shows the strenght of the instrumental section of Ju Ju Hounds. After My Fault
Stradlin introduced the band and Jimmy started to play the Shuffe It All intro which led into the song. "Smokin' and rollin'!!" screamed
Stradlin before Train Tracks. Italian fans had a great time during the reggae part of Pressure Drop, when they were singing the chorus
- Izzy just praised them with "Beautiful". After the song Stradlin said "We'll see You!!" and the band left the stage but the italian fans
continued singing the chorus from Pressure Drop. Robert Johnson's Travelling Riverside Blues and George Thorogood's Bad to the
Bone is played during Rick's guitar solo. Later on they came back and Rick played a blusey solo and later sang Little Red Rooster,
changing the lyrics from "The dogs begin to bark and hounds begin to howl" into "Dogs begin to bark and JU JU HOUNDS begin to
howl...". After Goodnight Tonight Stradlin said "See You again, thank You for a good one... thank You", and Jimmy said something in
italian - it's natural because he was born in Italy.

Goodnite Tonight
info: After Jivin' Sister Fanny Izzy said "You guys might know this song..." and they played Bo Diddley's Crackin' Up - we all can
also know this song from Rolling Stones album Love You Live. Before My Fault Stradlin said "Hey Rick Richard is going to sing
one..." and the band started to play a cool version of The Faces' classic with Rick on lead vocals. When Jimmy started to play the bass
line of Shuffle It All the crowd started to scream and clap their hands. Then Iz said: "I hear Somebody Knockin'" and they played the
opener of their debut album. Like on other shows Izzy didn't talk a lot, just introduced another songs to the crowd, like: "So Ronnie
Wood song called Take A Look at the Guy...", "This is called Train Tracks", "This is called Been a Fix". After a great performance of
Pressure Drop Izzy screamed: "Thank You Barcelona !! We will back here for sure... we'll see You again". After a short break the
band came back to play Little Red Rooster and Amazing Grace like always as an intro for Howlin' Wolf's Highway 49. After that Izzy

ARTICLE. Here's a short part of the article taken from Metal Cd Vol. 1 No. 12, 1993 Ain't Nothin' But A Hound Dog (by Malcolm Dome): Izzy himself
faced further controversy earlier this year when the Ju Ju Hounds toured the UK, and support act the Wildhearts were removed from the brief tour
after only one date. Subsequently, the British band made all sorts of claims, including that their removal from the tour had been precipitated by the
'fact' they had blown the Ju Ju Hounds offstage AND outsold them in the merchandising stakes. Izzy takes all of this in his stride. "Oh, of course they
did better than us in Leeds [it was in Nottingham]. They wiped the floor with us," he states sardonically. "No, what happened was that I never knew
who was going to support us in the UK until I got there. Then I was told it was to be the Wildhearts, whom I had never heard of before. But when I met
them I recognised their singer (Ginger) as somebody who had slagged me off in the press a couple of years earlier, which didn't endear him to me. And
when I heard their music I realised they were totally unsuitable to support the Ju Jus. The booking agent had made a big mistake. So I had them
removed from the bill for the remaining dates. I guess I had a beef with that singer and used their musical incompatibility as an excuse."
FROM THE WILDHEARTS HISTORY: The Wildhearts are unceremoniously kicked off Izzy Stradlin's tour after the first date at Nottingham Rock City.
The press speculate about the reasons for the band's ousting. Rumours include: The Wildhearts outsold Izzy on the merchandise stand; the ex-Guns N'
Roses guitarist was none too pleased at the audience's lukewarm response following an amazing set from The Wildhearts; and Izzy took offence at his
support band's backstage, ahem, herbal relaxation techniques, having only recently fought his own battles with substance abuse. However, Dante
Bonutto recently told me that the band's ousting from the tour had something to do with an argument between Ginger and Izzy, and involved a woman.
Said Dante: "I'm saying no more... except that The Wildhearts' response to this unceremonious booting-off was to print up a black and white flyer
referring to Izzy Stradlin' as 'Izzy Strugglin'. Needless to say, this didn't go down well with the Izzy camp!"
FANS ASK QUESTION TO THE LEADER OF THE WILDHEARTS – GINGER: Did you ever find out why Izzy Stradlin kicked The Wildhearts off his
UK tour? Ginger: "Izzy never gave us a reason for kicking us off his tour. It looked, to everyone present, that we were too much of a challenge to his
more 'laid back' style. Let's face it, we were young and hot and he was playing blues. I wouldn't want to follow The Wildhearts with a blues band,
would you?".

info: At the end of the show Izzy threw his guitar pick into the crowd. The fan who grabbed it says: "He played at Middlesbrough

12.12.1992 - Glasgow, Scotland, Barrowlands

audio/video recording: ?
set: Bucket O' Trouble
info: The show started at 8:45 p.m. with Bucket O' Trouble - it's the only known track played at this show. The show lasted about 70
minutes. Izzy and Hounds weren't moving a lot, just playing the music with Rick strutting the stage couple times.
REVIEW (Here's a short review of the show by scottish fan nicknamed Rumba): I was attending the concert with my cousin (Bobby) and friend (Paul),
as usual we had all arranged to get the day off for the concert so we could indulge in alcohol abuse (Scottish pastime) before the show. We met up
about lunchtime, and headed for Glasgow, grabbed some food and spent the day people watching in the upstairs bar within the Central station. As the
day progressed we headed out towards the Barras and visited many pubs on the way there. The barras is situated towards the east of the city and not in
a very desirable area, this made no difference to us as we would drink anywhere there was beer. The concert venue is world famous (I’m led to believe)
for being small enough for an intimate gig but with a great sound system. We arrived at the venue approx 8pm, and headed straight for the bar, beer in
had we settled down to chat and watch the support act. I can’t remember who they were except that they were a local Glasgow band, they did not

capture our attention. At 8.45ish Charlie started a small drum roll as the rest of the band entered the stage and kicked off with Bucket O’ Trouble, he
stormed through the rest of the set with very little interaction with the crowd. My guess was that the majority of the crowd (possibly about 1000) had
not heard the album by this point as not many people were singing along with the songs. The set listing is Bucket O’ Trouble, Cuttin’ The Rug, Walkin’
The Wrong Highway, Crackin’ Up, take your Sorrow, Just a Fool, Shuffle It All, Somebody Knockin’, Take a Look At The Guy, Train Tracks, Been a
Fix, Pressure Drop, Highway 49, Wipe out, Pills, Goodnight Tonight. (This setlist comes from The Lonely Rose bootleg - Rumba thought it's from
Barrowlands but in fact it's Barcelona - m_klimek) Izzy and crew were dressed all in black, played numerous different guitars, rick stuck with mainly
Gibson les Pauls and Izzy with 335s, les Pauls and a telecaster. They were pretty static on the stage, very little movement from any of them, Rick
strutted the stage a couple of times bur Izzy must have not moved more than a few feet from the centre. The show lasted approx 1 hour 20 minutes. My
group left the venue on a high as we had just seen an absolutely brilliant show, however in the pub later on we were talking to others who were not
impressed, they were expecting Guns N’ Roses and did not know any of the songs that he played. The next day we headed out to the Barras market,
(again I am led to believe this is world famous) the market was and possibly still is the hub for much illegal activities, anything you want you get find
here. The main reason that we went there was to pick up bootlegs, tapes (those things that hiss when you play them), records (circular black things)
and videos. Every concert that gets played within the barras venue is recorded and is then sold on cassette tape in the market thee next day, leave it a
couple of weeks and if there is enough demand it would also appear on vinyl. So off to the market we headed to collect our tapes. We picked up the
nights before Izzy show and some other tapes from concerts at the time as well as a copy of Rock in Rio on video from 1991. The concert was just as we
remembered it I listened to it in my car for years. (...)Anyways to summarize, the show was the best £10 that I have ever spent on a concert, I just wish
he would tour again and charge the same for the ticket.

12.14.1992 - Kentish Town, London, England, Town & Country Club

Rooster, Highway 49, Wipeout, Pills, Goodnight Tonight
info: After two months Ju Ju Hounds are back in London with a concert in London Town & Country Club - in october they played in a
club called Mean Fiddler. Eddie Ashworth joined the band for Time Gone By and Izzy introduced him: "Hey gimme some lights over
there, (...) Eddie Ashworth on mandolin...". During the song one of the girls from the crowd jumped into the stage and Izzy screamed
"she wants to dance..." and Jimmy wanted to catch her but she just escaped. After this show the band took a flight to Belfast.

info: The set isn't complete and probably not in right order. The show was recorded and later released in Japan as a five songs Live EP.
Great show, probably the best on the European tour. Incredible performance of Rockin' Daddy - much more raw than ever before. The
crowd starts 'Izzy' chant before the song and Stradlin said: 'This is an oldie song called Rocker'. Crackin' Up and Pressure Drop were
later used as a hidden bonus songs on japanese edition of Stradlin second solo album.

IZZY STRADLIN AND THE JU JU HOUNDS TO BEGIN A MUCH-ANTICIPATED STATESIDE LEG OF THEIR WORLDWIDE TOUR (PR
Newswire. January 14, 1993): LOS ANGELES, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The premier world tour of Geffen recording group Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju
Hounds, which launched last September in Europe, Japan and Australia, is set to begin a U.S. leg in early February. The band's debut, "Izzy Stradlin
and the Ju Ju Hounds," released in mid-October, has been in the Billboard Top 200 since its release, earned a spot on Billboard's year-end Top 10
chart of New Artists, and is nearing gold. The first single, "Shuffle It All" was a Top 3 AOR hit. Out this week, the new track, "Somebody Knockin'" is
the No. 3 most added at AOR radio. The band will be the featured guests on Rockline, Jan. 25. Before the official start of the U.S. dates, the Ju Ju
Hounds, in a one-time event, will open for Keith Richards, Jan. 21 at the Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. As a member of Guns N' Roses, Stradlin
opened for the Stones at the four Rolling Stones-Guns N' Roses concerts in 1990, as well as appearing with them on a Pay Per View. The Ju Ju Hounds
have chosen to play large clubs and small theatres; it's a plan Stradlin has been formulating for some time. "On the road I always wanted to get out
and see the people and places around town. I'm really looking forward to playing again." The band will begin the tour in the west at Iguanas in
Tijuana. Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds are: Stradlin, vocals, guitar, percussion. Stradlin is a founding member of Guns N' Roses, with "Mr.

[Richards] was playing amazed me".

HERE'S A SHORT REVIEW OF THE SHOW (by Dean Goodman): I drove down from Los Angeles to this gig south of the border with three friends,
Al, Matt and Janine. We were all fresh-faced newbies to the United States in our early 20s, and stoked for some (mis)-adventure. Fortunately, I keep a
diary, so I'll quote from that at length, because I have hardly any recall of the following events. First up, we got plastered at three bars along the main
street, Avenida Revolucion, where whistle-blowing waiters held our heads back and stuffed our throats with $2.50 shots of tequila... "At the show, we
saw the tail-end of My Little Funhouse, and Al and I got right up front for Izzy, who was FUCKING BRILLIANT! A consummate rocker covering Bo
Diddley, Howlin' Wolf and most of the goodies off the record. When he sang (Diddley's) Crackin' Up, I pointed out and he acknowledged me. The
concert gave me a real high -- hot and sweaty and super-charged. We got backstage with no problems, and all chatted to Izzy, with Matt making the
biggest impression (Where's my Australian friend? he asked) Janine also did a good chat-up. Al and I started nicking beers from My Little Funhouse [I
remember I was sticking them down my pants] and got told off by a roadie. We seemed to be milling around backstage for ages, but eventually left."

usually. Before the last song of the show - Battleship Chains Izzy says: "Thank You Minneapolis!! This is last night on this tour and
the next, we're gonna bring our crew here to take a picture of us all". My Little Funhouse supported Ju Ju Hounds on this show. The
last show of North American tour. In one month Ju Ju Hounds played more than twenty concerts.

03.06.1993 - Atlanta, GA, Center Stage Theatre

opening act: Dada
audio/video recording: ?
set: Shuffle It All, Battleship Chains
info: This is not complete set - these are the only known songs played at this concert. Most of the people on that show were Dada's
fans. One of three Ju Ju Hounds shows which were played after the official North American tour.
JASON ROGERS REVIEW: During my college days in the early 90's, a couple of friends and I saw Dada in concert when they opened up for Izzy
Stradlin And The Ju Ju Hounds. We attended the show specifically to see Dada, as we all had copies of the band's first album, and, upon arriving, were
surprised to find that 99% of the audience had also showed up specifically to see Dada. I remember being hugely impressed with Dada's set and the
lively performances from all three band members, especially the guitarist. I don't remember much about the Izzy Stradlin set, except that the show was
at Center Stage in Atlanta. I've probably got my ticket stub with the specific date somewhere if I can find it, but I'm not sure. Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju
Hounds played "Shuffle It All" of course, and, if I remember correctly, they played a cover of Georgia Satellites - "Battleship Chains" and that was the
highlight of the show for me.

Knockin', Blues Interlude, Happy, Train Tracks, Pressure Drop, Sittin' On Top Of The World, Amazing Grace, Highway 49,
Battleship Chains
info: Really crowded show, some of the fans were forced to move away from the spot near the front of the stage because there were
too many people crushing in. Izzy's friend Joey Huffman played keyboard on this show. He probably did play on other couple shows
also. His keyboards brings a really great sound to JuJu's songs. Crackin' Up sounds even more reagge with Huffman's help. The band
made a small brake after this song and they switched into accoustic guiatrs for Time Gone By. After that Stradlin introduced the band
and JuJu's started to played My Fault. The fans went crazy when they heard Jimmy playin the bass line of Shuffle It All. Yet again
Keep On Moving is played inside of the song. After Somebody Knockin' the band started to play a fantastic blues jam. A very rare
performance of Rolling Stones' Happy is played later on with Rick on lead vocals. After Pressure Drop Izzy screamed "Thank You,
goodnight" and the band left the stage. The band came back for an encore with a classic blues tune Sitting On Top Of The World with
Rick on lead vocals again. Battleship Chains closed the set. Those last three shows weren't include to the official North American
Tour 1993, they were added later.
REVIEW (Here's a short review of the show by Scottish fan nicknamed Dodee): This was a very cool show. When we walked in Rick Richards and
Charlie Quintana were sitting at the bar drinking a beer. My buddy and I plopped down and chatted them up a bit. We were both big Georgia Satellites
fans and talked to Rick about a bunch of their shows we'd seen. His fuzzy memory couldn't recall any of 'em which elevated the hard-partying rock n
roll image I had of Rick even further. My friend worshipped Dylan as a modern day deity and he got some "Bob" stories from Charlie as he'd played a
stint with him not too long before. They were nice guys - who like to rock. I was never a Guns fan but always liked the Izzy material - it had a deep
blues backbone that really came out after he lit out on his own. He was really in his element with this band and this setlist covering most of his first
solo record while throwing in Stones, blues and reggae covers. It was a really packed show and there were some concerns about fan safety as they
were crushing in up front. .

from a long motorcycling trip and takin a break from his band the Ju Ju Hounds - Mr. Izzy Stradlin'.
HERE'S A LETTER OF AN UNKNOWN GN'R FAN FROM GREECE WHO MET IZZY IN ATHENS, ONE DAY BEFORE THE SHOW: "...well as i
said that was the best experience of my life! i met Izzy!!! the day before the show . i went to the hotel to give a bouquet of roses to the band on behalf of
the GnR greece fan club!! In the lobby I saw Izzy...he was so cool...i introduced my self to him...he was like "wow i didnt know there is a fan club here
in Greece!!!!" . I said "you 'll be surprised when u see the venue tomorrow ...we expect over 50000 fans"... so we chatted a little and when i asked him
about his reunion with Gnr he said "dont expect me back in the band.....at least this time.."..i said to him that he is always a GnR member to our
heart...he smiled....i couldn't believe that i was actually chatting with him... so suddenly the bodyguards showed up...izzy said that it was ok with
me...he invited me to go upstairs....but the bodyguards said no way!!!! so izzy said to me that he can call bill baily , who is axl's brother and he takes
care of fans etc, and that he can give me autographs!! bill was in the lobby too...so izzy asked him if he can give me some autographs...he said " give
me five min to go upstairs ..." and he went to the rooms!!! while i was waiting i gave a look to izzy...he was wearing jeans and a t-shirt(at this time -
may- in Greece it is 30 C!) and he was lookin like....tired... when i asked him about his life outside GnR he said "i miss the fun , the energy , the fans
but....i'm more relaxed right now"!!!!..it was awasome...i have to tell u that in the hotel there was no sign of other fans!!! izzy said "it's the first time
that no fans showed up in the hotel!!" and i told him the truth: the managers of the BMG(the company of GnR in Greece) said to people that GnR
would stay in Hilton hotel ...but they stayed in Intercontintal hotel!!!!".

audio/video recording: audio, video [incomplete]
opening acts: The Cult, Soul Asylum, Blind Melon
set: Nightrain, Mr. Brownstone, Live And Let Die, Welcome To The Jungle, Attitude, It's So Easy, Double Talkin' Jive, You Ain't
The First, You're Crazy, Used To Love Her, I Was Only Joking, Patience, Knockin' On Heaven's Door, Piano Solo, November Rain,
Dead Horse, Drum Solo, You Could Be Mine, Guitar Solo, Godfather Theme, Sweet Child O' Mine, Mother, Paradise City
INTERVIEW (Here's a part of interview taken from Metal CD Vol. 1 No. 12, 1993 - Ain't Nothin' But A Hound Dog by Malcolm Dome): Yet, despite
his relief at being out of the GN'R psycho-circus, Izzy amazingly agreed to return in May to play five dates with the band (including the two gigs at the
Milton Keynes National Bowl), standing in for his successor, Gilby Clarke, who had broken his arm. It would seem strange to many that, having been
cured of his 'affliction', he would voluntarily re-admit himself to the insane asylum..."Well Axl was the one who called me and asked if I would do it. I
was home working on my bikes when I got the call. I thought about it for a couple of days, and then said that I'd do it for those five dates. Why did I go
back? Well, I just saw it as a free holiday, really. I got to go to countries like Israel and Greece where I'd never been before." But Izzy's return to the
ranks was never likely to be made permanent; and he found things unchanged since he'd first walked out. "We never talked about me returning full-
time to GN'R. And, quite frankly, it wouldn't be something that I'd consider in the slightest. Honestly, nothing had changed. Going back into the band
was a strange and uncomfortable experience on the whole. It was cool in a way to be able to step back into comething I'd left behind and to judge
whether anything had improved, but I just found that it hadn't. It made me realise why I was glad to get out in the first place."The band's egos are way
out of control. Axl and Slash had the same attitude towards me as they did before I left, and there is a feeling of unreality about them. They lead
isolated lives and don't seem to be in touch anymore with the real world. I spent all my time hanging out with the roadies. You know how many times i
saw any of the band offstage? Once, that was Slash in London! "But it was wasier to get up onstage with GN'R and do a two-hour set than to do a two-
hour stint with the Ju Ju Hounds. All I had to do with Guns was play guitar on a set of songs I knew already. With my own band, I have the added
pressure of singing as well. But if you ask me which one I prefer, there's no contest - the Ju Jus have so much more fun!"

every song from Ride On album (except Highway Zero). Duff McKagan plays bass and also sings lead vocals in Chinese Rocks while
Rick sings Diddley's classic called Pills like he used to do in Ju Ju Hounds years. Taz plays a great drum solo before Parasite. An
incredible performance of Primitive Man with Duff on backing vocals what gave this song much more power. Before Hometown

Me Now which was later put on River album.

when they played in Guns N' Roses, so right now they were thinking about playing some GNR tunes, Izzy: "Since I left, I've never

the guys in my band, Jizzy, Kerri are great, too. I love playing the songs with them. Having Slash and Izzy up there with us made
playing those songs more real, y'know? They are my brothers, we accomplished a lot together. Playing with them again was great. I
hope the fans liked it. I mean, meeting the people, everyone has been so nice. I'd like to say 'Thank you' for comin' out to all the

REVIEW (here's the review by spanish fan named Zesotar): Ok. Two days before the show I had the notice that one radio program was going to give 4
VIP passes If you send the tickets scanned. I send the ticket, and the same day, in Madrid I call to my girlfriend to check my e-mail. She called me 5
minutes after. And give me one telephone number. I call and a woman (who go with the band in Madrid and here, Marisol) told me that I won the
fucking VIP pass. After eating and buying some cds, we (a friend and me) went to the venue Razzmatazz. There was few people waiting in the queue,
and we saw 3 of the Backyard Babies boys and the drummer teching in the street!!! We received a call from the people of the program and they told me
that I have to go to the back part of the venue at 20:00. I was very nervous!!! waiting and waiting the man that we (about 10 very nice people) followed
was calling in the cell every time. Finally we went to the main gate and waited again, Backyard Babies started the show, "Fuck I wanna see them, but
don't worry tomorrow I can...." waiting...a van parked quickly. I only heard the screams of a group of girls, they told me that Dave and Duff were on
the van and then went inside the roomshow. Waitin and Waiting, the man we followed told us that we have to wait till the whole band was inside. I
recogniced songs of the backyard babies show, and I hear the people screaming in every song´s end...... Finally the same van came again and Matt
Sorum, Slash and Perla were there. Slash and Perla went inside and Matt salute to us and followed Slash´s family. I was almost crazy, nervous and
many more things. Finally Marisol, tell us that we could go inside and wait till the band come to us. We went inside and waited. A bold man seated was
there with an electronic machine, doing his things, I look to that man..... I crouched and I recognized that man. It was Dave, and I said to him "Dave
sign me please";...He signed me and another guy with us gave something to Dave to sign, the rest of people ignored him. I asked him " Izzy will be here
tonight" and he told me "Maybe" and went inside the backstage. Later Slash, Duff, Dave and Matt came with us, I gave the edding to Matt, he signed
me and I asked him If they were going to play Mr. Brownstone, he told me that maybe, nobody knows….Matt stole my edding and I run to Slash
to ask him an authograph and take a photo with him, I was with God taking a Photo!!!! Incredible!!!! (The pic) Then Duff signed me and he took a
photo with me. People ignored Dave. I feel very sad because of that, he's another member of the band and the fuckin man. We went inside the venue, I
lost my friends but the people were very nice, I talked with many guys. AC/DC was the last band in the amplifiers. The lights fade out, people start
screaming, Matt came and aimed to us with a center light, screams louder, Duff came to the front of the scene, and started to play Sucker train blues,
the light fade in, and the whole band was there, Scott was looking at the back of the stage, and when the intro went to the main riff the lights blinked as
flashes and madness began. Sucker train blues shocked me;.. Scott saluted to us, How are you Barcelona!!!! We are Velvet Revolver!!!! Do it for the
kids began and the whole crew were jumping. Spectacle was superb. In Cracckerman many STP fans start screaming and the crew react weel to that
song. Ilegal I song with the talk box solo, and Big Machine all the crew jumping again. Fall to pieces very good each day i like more and more this
song. In this 3 songs I take a little break, stop Jumping because the rest of the songs were fucking classics. Set me free i sang this song with my whole
soul, and jumping embraced my friend, fucking good, but in the solos Dave and Slash were confused, the two playing the same riff and nobody doing
the solo, both they smiled. They went to the backstage, and my friend and I start screaming Izzy Izzy, people look at us strranged, we were very excited.
The band minus Slahs came to scene, and Scott in the mic, watching towards said: We have a guest, probably you may recognieced him. Mr. Izzy
Stradlin!!! Slash and Izzy came to the scene and the public start screaming until more not being able. Izzy was there. They play Used to love her, i take
photos and sang like all the public the complete song. The song ended and the crew screamed: Izzy Izzy!!!!! It´s so easy began and the crew went nuts,

mad and crazy me too, I lost my friend. Fuck 90% of Guns N roses playing It's so easy!!! And Slash doing solos like Satan!!! Too much for my body.
Izzy said. Thank you and went out of the scene. I didnt like Slither very much I don´t know why, Sex type thing was good. And Negative creep fucking
good, Dave blow up this song, he is the man, Scott threw himself to the public. All the song was a madness. And this is the end of my first contact with
Velvet Revolver.

IZZY STRADLIN ON TOUR 23
SETLIST ALMANAC

05.17.2006 - New York City, NY, Hammerstein Ballroom

audience: 3,800
audio/video recording: audio, video
set: Think About You, Patience, Nightrain
info: Fourth and last Guns N' Roses show in New York City, Hammerstein Ballroom. Izzy Stradlin joined the band for three songs:
Think About You, Patience and Nightrain. Two days before, during the show on 05.15 Axl mentioned that Izzy was in N.Y. and many
people recognised him, he also informed fans that Stradlin join the band on 05.17, so this happened. The rumour says Izzy cried
during Patience. Kid Rock joined the band for Nightrain also. Izzy left the Hammerstein Ballroom before the show was finished -
because he had to get up very early next morning said Rose. It was Axl Rose and Izzy Stradlin first performance since 13 years - the
last time they did it, was a Guns N' Roses show on National Bowl, Milton Keynes (05.30.93).

06.11.2006 - Donington, England, Download Festival, Donington Park

audio/video recording: audio, video
set: Think About You, Smoke On The Water [intro], Patience, Nightrain, Used To Love Her, Paradise City
info: Izzy Stradlin joins Guns N' Roses for the first time during the european leg of the tour. The crowd together with Axl scream
"Izzy, Izzy..." before Patience. Izzy plays Deep Purple classic Smoke On The Water as an intro for Patience. At the end of the show
Tommy took the hat from Izzy.

06.13.2006 - Prague, Czech Republic, Sazka Arena

audience: 18,000
audio/video recording: audio, video
set: Think About You, Patience, Nightrain, Paradise City
info: Izzy joined the band for Think About You and continued to play with Patience and Nightrain. Later he came back for Paradise
City. People who have been on the show said Izzy seemed to be very happy like he never left this band. At the end of the show, Axl
made a "big political mistake" and screamed "Czechoslovakia, good fucking night!".
RAYNO REVIEW: Axl and boys were almost an hour late but the gig was definitely worth waiting. During the technical preparations you could clearly
hear the technician going: "Richard's guitar..OK, Robin's guitar...OK, Izzy's guitar...OK" so there were big expectations in the air. The setlist was
different from the one that was spotted by a fan on some piece of paper somewhere on stage: Axl and boys skipped over "Izzy songs" so we almost lost
our hopes, but suddenly here he comes, Mr. Izzy Stradlin in his typical hat! After TAY he was about to leave the stage but Axl stopped him and Izzy
started to play Patience (and fucked it up a bit). A great chemistry especially between him and Richard. Not to mention that watching Izzy and Axl side
by side during Paradise City is a dream come true for a GNR fan in 2006.

06.15.2006 - Warszawa, Poland, Legia Stadium

audience: 12,000
audio/video recording: audio, video
set: Think About You, Patience, Nightrain, Paradise City
info: Before My Michelle Axl introduced a friend of the band and the whole stadium started Izzy chant but it wasn't Izzy's turn - at this
time Sebastian Bach joined the stage. But after that Axl introduced Izzy and the whole stadium went crazy, screaming: "Izzy, Izzy..."
for a long time. Stradlin just waved his hand to say welcome and they started to play Think About You with Iz playing the main solo
just like he did on the Appetite For Destruction album. After that people started the Izzy chant again. During Patience when Axl sang:
"I sit here on the stairs, cause I rather be alone...", he came to Izzy and they were smiling together. After Nightrain Stradlin left the
stage but later he was back for the last song of the show - Paradise City. Izzy was in a great mood, he was smiling to the fans and was
looking like having a good time.
MICHAL KLIMEK REVIEW: I get up around seven, I get up from bed around... eight. At 10 a.m. I was sitting in Warsaw metro and going to the
Warsaw Okecie Airport to meet my friend Lukas there and waiting for guys from Guns N' Roses. We didn't know when will they arrive and if they
really arrive at this day. We knew we had a chance like one in a million but we thought 'why shouldn't we try'. There were two flights from Prague at
11:35 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. but nothing happened. After about four hours of waiting we hit with the bus to Legia Stadium. At 3 p.m. we met our other
friends and we went into the stadium. At this moment only about 20% of the stadium was full of people but there was five hours left to the main concert
so we knew it's normal situation. But the news weren't so great. One of our friend was told that 13,000 from 25,000 tckets are still available to buy - it
wasn't a good thing. Anyway we went to the first sector and stand just before the stage in the center (a little bit of the left). The weather was cool but it
was a little bit to warm so all we needed was water - never enough. We just sit on the ground and all we had to do was waiting. The first support
started to play at about 4p.m. 650 North - young guys from Indiana played a raw, fast rock. They were cool but nothing special. I was sitting before the
stage - was very warm. I just stand up for a moment once to see how do they look like and after that sit again to keep my energy for Guns N' Roses. At
this time I thought it will be five hours of waiting for Guns N' Roses. I even didn't get up to see next support Kobranocka - I was sitting and the people
standing before me just made a big wall and I couldn't see the band. After that happened something really terrifying - the whole sky were full of clouds
and at about 5 p.m. there was a heavy rain - for about 20 minutes. I had a bad feeling - the rain was so heavy that I thought the concert can be
cancelled. The crew were taking the stuff from the stage because of rain. But after 20 minutes there wasn't rain the hope came back - we all were wet
but happy it was over. And when another polish support get on the stage - Oddzial Zamkniety - everything was just alright. It was about 6p.m. and the

SETLIST ALMANAC

sector before the stage was full of fans so this band was the real first support of the day. They made a really cool show. But they were nothing when we
compare them to the next guy who entered the stage - Sebastian Bach. He just smashed all the supports - people went crazy. He was waving his
mickrophone, he was just like a beast - looking with his devil's eyes at the fans and smiling to them when someone sang a song with him. He played
some Skid Raw songs but also the stuff from his solo discography. His guitarplayer was a polish guy so he translated everything to the fans what
Sebastian wanted. Really great show, at this time all the fans knew the Guns N' Roses are coming. Sebastian Back finished his show just after 8p.m.
and the GNR crew hit the stage to make clean. My friend Andy started to scream Guns N' Roses so the whole stadium continued. We all thought GNR
will hit the stage at about 9:30 but they did it a hour before. At this moment You felt really big squeeze cause everybody wanted to be closer the stage. I
saw Dizzy first - everybody went nuts - he just sit on the left site of the stage just before his keyboards. Brain with his headphones on the top was
looking really cool. Me and all the fans were very suprised the band came on the stage so early. In one moment we heard the Welcome To The Jungle
short intro riff and all the fans were screaming like beasts - me too of course !!! In one moment I saw him - he was standing upturned to the fans in the
middle of the stage and drinking something I think. Then he get out to the fans - the Welcome to the Jungle intro riff was still playing - that were
seconds. Axl standed just at the beginning of the stage just before our heads. I went crazy, I don't remember if I ever screamd so much in my whole life.
I fucked up my throat in couple seconds !!! I couldn't believe I see him. My friend Lukas threw his Guns N' Roses flag just before Axl's legs. Rose just
looked at the flag and wanted to lift it up but he stopped and didn't do it (maybe because besides of the GNR skull there were also picutres of old
members of the band - I don't know)... too bad. Anyway Axl was looking really great - his brown leather, dark glasses, blue jeans - he was like a God
!!! I think I couldn't believe this is a reality. I grabbed a hand of my friend - we both couldn't believe it !!! Suddenly Axl screamed: "Who know where
the fuck You are !!!" and the whole band started to play Welcome to the Jungle. We started to jump and sing the song with Axl. I was standing just
before the stage but a little bit on the left so I couldn't see what's goin on on the right side of the stage so I didn't see Tommy very well. The fans were
pushing so hard that I was feeling like a wave on the see - going left, right but still screaming and singing. I really couldn't believe in this everything
and remember screaming to my friend and looking at Axl: "My God this is like a movie !! This is like a movie !!". I was watching this guy for last
couple years only in tv so it was a big shock for me. Probably after the Jungle, Rose said sth like: "We've got a great crowd tonight" and the reaction
of fans was electric. Then they played It's So Easy and Mr. Brownstone without any break. I think I concentrate most of all at this what do I see and not
what do I hear. It was an experience I had never before - just like I wrote before, it was a big shock for me. I don't remember the exactly moments of
the show - I just remember some situations - the reaction of the fans on Live And Let Die was very enthusiastic. I think during this song we saw the
fireworks blow for the first time which was an incredible effect (after every blow the wave of warm air was around). I think it was during Live and Let
Die when I realized that I don't feel very well. From the beginning the weather wasn't very well - it was very sticky and I just knew I must calm down
for a moment and stop jumping and singing. Before Better Axl said that we are very bad 'cause we were downloading this song from the internet.
Because I don't have an internet at home I had no possibility to download it so I really didn't this song very well - I just heard it once somewhere. So
during this and all new songs the crowd was very "calm".But after that everybody went crazy because the band started to play Bob Dylan's Knockin'
On Heaven's Door. The performance wasn't very good. While the band played a new version of the song, all the fans were singing the older one from
UY II what was a little bit funny. I never liked Robin Finck - just becuase of his image. But today he looks just great - with his white pants and red
socks as someone realized that were colours of polish flag. In my opinion he was the best guitarplayer of the evening - he was everywhere, running
from left into the right, he was just great and his solo was really cool. And when in one moment he started to play the intro of Sweet Child O'Mine all
the fans went crazy (yes again but which time this evening?). Dizzy Piano Solo was probably the most boring moment of the show - maybe Axl just
needed a longer break. The Blues was cool (Andy and me were singing the Rio 2001 part "OK Nevermind" which was really funny). You Could Be
Mine was always my favourite GNR song so that's why I was so angry at Brain who tottaly fucked up the drumby intro. Most of the fans didn't know
what song did the band play because of his mistake. I screamed so much that one guy standing before me told me to stop yelling and I just told him to
shut up. I think many people were waiting for that song - after calm audience during The Blues we all were like back to living during You Could Be
Mine. After that one the whole band left the stage and Ron had his solo on Bumblefoot Guitar with the wings. It was the song that Guns N' Roses didn't
play for about thirteen years. Ron started to play Don't cry as a solo and he waved to the fans to sing the song, what we made - really cool moment of
the show, we all were like Axl's voice just for couple minutes. The guitars on Chinese Democracy weren't so heavy like it should be but the
performance of the song was really great. But like always it was unreleased song so some of the fans were just standing. Later on, Axl sit on his piano
and started to play an intro which led into November Rain - probably this song got the biggest ovation from the fans. Richard played the first solo I
think, then Ron and Robin played the closing one. Funny thing - during the introducions I saw Tommy for the second time on that show just becuase of
mines bad view from the right side of the scene. Fortus' solo wasn't anything special but his duet with Robin was something amazing. Not many people
knew it was Beautiful, originally performed by Aguillera (maybe Fortus was the guy who wrote the music of that song?). That was the worst moment of
the show... the band started to play Out Ta Get Me and I don't know why but I got wrong and thought it was Think About You. I just was talking to
myself "Hey where's Izzy??". I looked at one of my friends with a bad face but he probably didn't know what I'm thinking about. But later I realized it
was Out Ta Get Me and everything was alright... what a dumb ass. Before next song Axl said something like: "I would like to introduce You a friend of
the band..." and everybody thought it was about Stradlin so we started the Izzy chant. But Rose said we could see him before and we all realized it was
Sebastian Bach, who entered the stage to sing My Michelle. This one was also one of the best performance of the evening - Axl singing one line and
Sebastian other - great stuff. At last this happend... "We would like to introduce You a friend of the band... mr. Izzy Stradlin". I couldn't believe... I was
screaming, smiling, jumping, waving in one moment. I don't remember if it was at this moment (maybe not ) but I remember me as the one who started
one of Izzy chants this evening, but it could be after Think About You which was the first song played by Izzy. He looked great with his old hat, black
leather or jeans, dark glasses, he waved to the fans just to say welcome. I didn't hear it but some of the fans sitting in other sectors said Izzy said "Hi"
to the mickrophone. After greeting Stradlin looked at Brain and they both started the song. Oh and he played the guitar solo just like he did on original
version of Think About You. During Patience one girl standing next to me was crying with heavy tears... I can understand that. A great moment while
the vocal part "I sit here on the stairs cause I rather be alone..." when Axl came to Izzy and they were smiling together. Then someone threw a polish
flag with Guns N' Roses logo on it into the stage. Axl grabbed it and covered himself what was really nice. Nightrain - absolutely the best moment of
the show - I don't know why and how but this band played this song with so big enthusiasm like no other song from the set. The intro "Loaded like a
freightrain..." was singing twice by the fans cause Axl told us to sing it again. I think there was a little confusion cause Izzy wanted to play the solo and
he looked at Richard, Ron or Robin and didn't do it but I can be wrong. After that the whole band left the stage. We all knew it wasn't the end of the
show so we started to the Guns N' Roses chant. I was very suprised while I heard the keyboard intro of Madagascar cause I thought this song was
dropped from the tour set. It was always my favourite new song and the same thing happened this night. Like always during playing the new songs the
fans were just standing and watching the show and I think I was the only one around (near to me) who was singing this song: "I won't be told
anymore..." while the Martin Luther King speech was really cool. A woman, about 50 from the crowd asked me what's the song... she also told me she's
GNR fan since 1986 so she should stand in the first raw... I said yeah but it was a bullshit. I.R.S. was quite good - I heard that song about three times
before so I didn't know it very well, maybe except the chorus. I could see Axl was doing one's best of his vocals. We all knew it was coming to the end
of the show when Robin started to play the intro which led into Paradise City. Izzy was back on the stage and all the fans behaved like the show just
began - we all were jumping and singing. Some fans threw the flag "Axl take us to the Paradise City" which Axl took and were showing to the fans. He
also started to running trough the whole stage for couple times which was incredible. Myself, I wasn't looking at Axl or other bandmates - I was
looking at Izzy. That's why I didn't see how Axl throw the mickrophone into the crowd at the end of the song and many other situations on the show
which were later told me by my friends. At the end of Paradise City the serpentine was blow into the air and we all feel amazing. But it was the end...
they all stand in line and leaned to say goodbye. Brain, Dizzy, Chris, Tommy, Ron, Richard, Robin, Axl and Izzy left the stage, the lights were put out
and we all knew it was over. I couldn't believe, I felt like it was half an hour but in fact the show last two hours and fifteen minutes. We all just leave
the sector and the guys from stadium crew gave us the tickets back (they took it when we were getting into the sector). I called my bro and my pop to

say everything is alright and we hit for GNR metteing... it was 11p.m. and the fans meeting ended at 5a.m. About thirteen years ago polish media
started a rumour that Axl said "I won't play for Jewish and Polish people...". Nobody believe it from the fans but it was sad hear from people some shit
like "why you listen a guy who doesn't play for polish...". I think this concert was a proof that this rumour was only a bullshit... Shame... that only half
of the stadium was full... even Axl said something while looking at the crowd that they made Budapest full... but in Budapest were about 11,000 of fans
and here in Poland... 12,000. I think we were a very good crowd, we had a fun, we were singing, screaming, jumping... everything. I felt shame because
of half stadium was empty but I was proud of our public. I think this concert was the best one that I was ever and I will ever be... couldn't be better -
thank You Axl, Robin, Ron, Richard, Tommy, Dizzy, Chris and Sebastian. And after about 6 years of waiting I met my hero - it was a great experience.
My friends told that his visit in Poland was like winning one million dollars. I just can say my dream came true... I won't forget that till the end of my
life. Thank You Izzy.

Izzy Stradlin - rhythm guitar, vocals
Rick Richards - lead guitar, vocals
Jimmy Ashhurst - bass guitar, backing vocals
Charlie 'Chalo' Quintana - drums, backing vocals

After leaving Guns N' Roses, Izzy and his old friend Jimmy Ashhurst (ex-Broken Homes) decided to make a new band together. Rick
Richards comes from Georgia Satellites while Charlie Quintana from Cruzadors.
Izzy: "We've got Rick Richards on the guitar, he used to play with the Georgia Sattelites, but they've splitted now. Yeah, that's sad.
Charlie Quintana is on the drums. He played with a lot of people, Bob Dylan, Little Bob, yeah, Your Little Bob! Jimmy Ashhurst is on
the bass. He worked a lot with Stiv Bators. And me, as everybody knows, I used to be in the Bee Gees (big laugh). Sorry, I always get
confused, I meant Guns N' Roses!".
Rick Maestro of Six Strings Richards, Izzy Mr. Invisible Stradlin, Charlie Chalo Quintana, Jimmy Two Fingers Ashhurst
Tourbook: A really funny story happened to the band during Ju Ju Hounds North American Tour 1993. Once when the band was
travelling with the tour bus, there happened a fire inside of the vehicle and in one moment everybody had to get out of the bus. After
awhile the situation was normal and Ju Ju Hounds continued the trip...
