SAMR and http://www.schrockguide.ne SAMR (Substitution Augmentation
BLOOM’s t/samr.html Modification Redefinition) is model that
can help me to incorporate technology
into teaching. The SAMR model combines
with BLOOM’s and helps students to
reach higher cognitive skills by developing
tasks that have significant impacts on
student’s ability to learn. Using SAMR and
BLOOM I can have students create a
video about a significant point in time.
Content Standards https://www.cde.ca.gov/be/s This is probably one of the most
t/ss/documents/histsocscistn important sites that I as a future educator
d.pdf need look at and review. These standards
are designed so that I can make sure
students are gaining the knowledge and
skills they need to acquire upon
completion of their grade level.
California https://www.cde.ca.gov/be/s Literacy is not only for English Language
Common Core t/ss/documents/finalelaccssst Arts (ELA) but it is also for history/social

English Language able to gather and comprehend
Arts & Literacy in information so that they can answer
History/Social questions and solve problems.
Studies, Science, Incorporating Common Core State
and Technical Standards does not replace Content
Subjects Standards rather I need to incorporate
them both into my future curriculum.
Digital Storytelling http://www.schrockguide.net Using digital storytelling I can not only use
/digital-storytelling.html technology in my classroom meet state
standards but also address common core
standards. I can have students work on a
Project Based Learning (PBL) where they
can create their own story. They can add
dialogs, pictures, timelines, videos and
text to tell their story. It will require them
to research, write, gather, problem solve,
collaborate and critically think about
history.
Primary Sources in http://www.schrockguide.net Here you can find many digitized primary
the Classroom /primary-sources.html sources from museums, libraries and even
personal collections. I can use this site to
find primary sources documents that can
help to enhance students understanding
about a particular historical event or time
in history.
Assessment and http://www.schrockguide.net Assessments are always going to be part
Rubrics /assessment-and-rubrics.html of finding out whether or not a student
has mastered the content. Assessments
don’t have to be just exams but they can
be rubrics. Rubrics can be useful to
assess whether a student has mastered
the ability of presentation, timelines,
research projects, digital stories, and
other projects I may assign. This site is full
of different types and samples of rubrics.
