Best Digital Sales Increase

The Daily Collegian Digital - Online Medium Rectangle

Collegian’s web site (​www.collegian.psu.edu​) contains advertising. It is sized and priced

so it’s very easy to understand for our staff and our clients. Most of our web traffic
comes from non-students, offering our advertisers a new audience for their message.

Revenue (As of 12/31/2016): $22,698.00

Revenue (As of 12/31/2017): $31,581.00
Revenue Increase (Percent Change from 2016 to 2017): 139%

Strategies: Using a systematic pitch format, an account executive will first ask the client
questions to see if the digital platform is a perfect fit. Secondly, they will show and
explain to the customer what the specific product is on our website. Then, they will
outline value of advertising through this product to their target audience, including the
presentation of performance statistics. Finally, if the client is interested in advertising,
the account executive will break down the cost, try to bundle other products (print and/or
digital) to maximize revenue and increasing exposure for the client, and close the sale.

Attached you will find our run sheet. It does not include specific dates, size, or price.
The Medium Rectangle is a 300 pixel by 250 pixel display advertisement that runs on all
pages, in rotation. In 2016, this was offered to clients for $150 and $125 for additional
weeks. In 2017, this was offered to clients for $190 for the first week and $160 for
additional weeks.
