Conduct work on height above 6ft (180 cm) is defined Highest Risk activity, according to
OHSA CFR 19.26 fall arresting system must be in-place for all working at heights activates
5 Steps safety system must be insured to secure the workers exposed for Working at heights,

Step5- Control access Zones

Control the access to WAH area, control falling objects, adopt
solution for warning notifications and Signs
Working at heights Control

Step4- use fall arrest systems

Use FAS “Fall arrest system” devices and maintain reliable Connection
point to the structure all Time During the WAH

Step3- use Active fall restraint

Use adequate full body harness, and preform WAH by authorized
professionally trained workers , with emergency rescue Plan in Place

Step2- use Passive fall restraint

Install adequate barriers or safe gads , and adopt Training for workers
exposed to work at height m design rescue Plans

Step1- eliminate the Fall hazard

Reduce the work at height, Bring the work to ground level if possible
or reduce number of climb towers by redesign the Operation

Telecom self-supporting GF towers Climbing solutions
A self supporting tower (freestanding tower) (GF Towers)
is constructed without guy wires. Self supporting towers have a larger footprint than monopoles, Due to its relatively
small footprint, Self supporting towers can be built with three or four sided structures. They are assembled in sections
with a lattice work of cross braces bolted to three four sloping vertical tower legs. With height 100 to 400 feet

Depend on tower design and actual condition define 3 ways below to Climb GF self supporting Tower.
Selection of Climbing techniques and suitable PPE’s and tools must be Done according tower survey and
Risk assessment by EHS professional

Selection of Right anchorage and connection Points. During tower structure climbing
Never Connect to OPEN END anchorage Points.
Never Connect to welded Points ,
Always ensure the Connection Points to tower structure is reliable and can carry Min of 20 KN, and always ensure 3 Point of connection

Notice:

Using snap hock to Connect is Completely un-safe

1 Safe climbing ways,

• Use two positioner lanyard (22KN)to create Close end anchorage Points. At al time and

Roof Top sites EHS controls
Roofing work can be dangerous even under the best conditions. High elevations, unprotected roof edges and steep slopes all pose fall risks. Those risks
may be increased by other factors, such as wind and wet surfaces; equipment misuse or failure, particularly involving ladders; and unsafe behavior on the
part of workers.

Types of Roof top and edge Work.

Calculating Total Fall Clearance Distance for Fall Arrest Systems with a Shock-absorbing Lanyard.
Free fall distance: This is the distance the worker falls before the PFAS begins to slow the fall. When using a PFAS, (see 29 CFR 1926.502(d)(16)(iii))
Deceleration distance: This is the distance the lanyard stretches in order to arrest the fall (see 29 CFR 1926.502(d)(16)(iii)).
D-ring shift: This is the distance the D-ring moves and the harness shifts when they support the worker’s full weight
Safety factor: A safety factor is an additional distance added to the total fall clearance distance to ensure there is enough clearance between the worker and the lower level after a fall. It is typically 2 feet.
