1 Scope

1.1 General background

a) NB45-003_E02.21_NSC_Radar_System.exe

1.2 Standard radar installation via USB stick

 This Program controls the complete installation of the NSC software on the target system.

 The MSI installation procedure replaces the NSC software update via batch files.

 The MSI installation procedure is possible only in Administrator mode, update via EggShell is not longer
supported.

2 Standard radar installation

2.1 Build the USB-Stick

 Copy file „NB45-003_E02.21_NSC_Radar_System.exe“ from the server to a normal PC with USB Port.

 Plug in the USB stick into the PC and wait for readiness.

 USB stick shall be new or free from any virus.

 USB stick shall have minimum 256 MB.

 USB stick shall have the possibility to be write-protected.

 Copy file „NB45-003_E02.21_NSC_Radar_System.exe“ from the server to the USB stick.

The USB stick is now complete.

 Start display in Administrator mode.

 Connect the USB stick with the NB45-003_E02.21_NSC_Radar_System.exe to the USB port.
 Open the Windows Explorer and start the NB45-003_E02.21_NSC_Radar_System.exe on the USB
stick.
 First answer the DOS box question to install the software with y (yes).
 Following dialog appears:

(don’t mention the wrong E0x.xx indication)

 The dialog shows following info’s (check as well as old versions) :

o Chart installed or not
o NSC software
o Version of installed NSC software
o If the configuration of the installed NSC software is compatible to the new NSC software
version, the installer save the configuration and delete the NSC software

o If the configuration isn’t compatible, the installation tool has to delete the old NSC software
completely and install the new software. The system has to be configured new.

E 2.4 Steps after finishing software installation and configuration:

Save configuration via EggShell function “Service Export Radar Display Configuration”:

This function saves the actual configuration of the radar display and a file which represent the fingerprint of
the done update of the software.

The configuration is a collection of files, which are stored on a USB stick. The USB stick MUST have a
Raytheon folder on it.

The configuration is stored on the stick in the following folder:

\RAYTHEON\Display_a ( for display A )

\RAYTHEON\Display_b ( for display B )
…

IMPORTANT: This configuration must send back to Raytheon Anschütz for put them into
archives
