CHAPTER 4 PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS, AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA
This chapter presents the data gathered in the study. It is concerned with the
presentation, analysis and interpretation of data gathered from the Grade 9 and Grade 10
students at San Rafael Parochial School. The findings from the research instruments were
presented in graphs and tables to make the analysis clearer and more illustrative.
4.1 RESULTS OF THE STUDY
The researchers made use of Likert-scale questionnaires in gathering data. The
questionnaires were distributed to Grade 9 and Grade 10 students selected through simple
random sampling.
4.1.1 Profile of the Respondents
The following shows the profile of the respondents, which includes the (A)
Gender and (B) Age.
A. Gender
Gender is the range of physical, biological, mental and behavioral
characteristics pertaining to, and differentiating between, masculinity
and femininity.

As seen on Table 4.1 and Figure 4.1, the majority of the respondents from Grade
9 were female. 53% of the respondents from Grade 9 are females and 47% are males.
Table 4.2 and Figure 4.2 shows that the majority of the Grade 10 respondents are male.
77% of the respondents are males, while 23% were females.

Age is defined as the number of years a person has lived.

Table 4.3 and Figure 4.3 shows that most of the Grade 9 respondents were aged 15 years
old. 70% of the respondents were 15 years old while 30% were aged 14 years old.
Table 4.4 and Figure 4.4 shows that the majority of the Grade 10 respondents were 16
years old. 73% of the respondents were 16 years old while 27% were 15 years old.

4.2.2 Usage
The first section of the questionnaire covers all questions regarding the usage of the
students of the canteen facilities.

Figure 4.4 shows how often Grade 9 students buy at the school canteen. The majority
of the respondents buy at the canteen 1-2 days a week. 40% of the respondents answered
they buy at the canteen 1-2 days a week, 34% stated that they buy at the canteen 3-4 days a
week, 23% of the respondents buy at the canteen every day, and 3% of the respondents
does not buy at the canteen at all.
Figure 4.5 shows how often Grade 10 students buy at the school canteen. The majority
of the respondents buy at the canteen 3-4 days a week. 37% of the respondents answered
they buy at the canteen 3-4 days a week, 27% stated that they buy at the canteen 1-2 days a
week, 23% of the respondents buy at the canteen every day, and 13% of the respondents
does not buy at the canteen at all.

4.2.3 Food
The second section of the questionnaire covers all questions regarding the food offered
by the school canteen.

As seen on Figure 4.6, both Disagree and Neutral garnered 34% of the answers
from the Grade 9 respondents. 33% answered Disagree, 20% of the respondents
answered Agree and 13% answered Strongly Agree.
As seen on Figure 4.7, both Strongly Disagree and Disagree garnered 47% of
the answers from the Grade 10 respondents. Also, both Strongly Agree and Neutral got
3% of the answers.

Figure 4.8 shows that the majority of the Grade 9 respondents answered Neutral at
63%. Both Disagree and Agree got 17% and 3% answered Strongly Disagree.
Figure 4.9 shows that the majority of the Grade 10 respondents answered Neutral at
54%. 27% of the respondents Disagree, 13% answered Strongly Disagree, 3% answered
Strongly Agree, and 3% answered Agree.

Figure 4.10 shows that most of the respondents from Grade 9 answered Neutral at
54%. 33% answered Agree, 7% answered Disagree, and both Strongly Agree and Strongly
Disagree got 3%.
Figure 4.11 shows that most of the respondents from Grade 10 answered Neutral at
40%. 27% of the respondents answered Disagree, 23% answered Agree, and 10% answered
Strongly Disagree.

Figure 4.14 shows that most of the Grade 9 respondents answered Neutral at
60%. 30% answered Agree, 7% answered Disagree, and 3% answered Strongly Agree.
Figure 4.15 shows that most of the Grade 10 respondents answered Neutral at
60%. 13% answered Agree, both Disagree and Strongly Disagree got 10%, and 7%
answered Strongly Agree.
