Pathophysiology is the study of the disturbance of normal mechanical, physical, and biochemical functions, either

caused by a disease, or resulting from a disease or abnormal syndrome or condition that may not qualify to be called a
disease. An alternate definition is "the study of the biological and physical manifestations of disease as they correlate
with the underlying abnormalities and physiological disturbances.”

Pathophysiology Clinical diagnosis w/ risk factors

1. Clinical diagnosis heading as figured in a schematic or flowchart form
- What system got involved/ affected?
2. Risk factors / predisposing factors
3. Main etiology involved / possible etiologies (CAUSE)
4. Examine further all the system in terms of gross /structural àmolecular activities or cellular level
(EFFECT))
5. Show all affected pertinent laboratory
6. Always end in the clinical signs and symptoms of the client

RISK FACTORS à ETIOLOGY (CAUSE) à PATHOLOGIC MANIFESTATIONS

(EFFECT ON ANATOMICAL-MOLECULAR LEVEL)
à PHYSIOLOGIC MANIFESTATIONS (EFFECT ON BODILY FINCTIONS)
à PERTINENT LABORATORY RESULTS à SIGNS & SYMPTOMS SEEN ON THE CLIENT

Pathophysiology Clinical diagnosis w/o risk factors

1. Clinical diagnosis as heading as figured in a schematic or flowchart form
- What system got involved/ affected?
2. Main etiology involved / possible etiologies (CAUSE)
3. Examine further all the system in terms of gross /structural àmolecular activities or cellular level (EFFECT)
4. Show all affected pertinent laboratory

Pathophysiology : Causative organism

1. Start with primary etiology: causative organism (CAUSE)
2. Mode of transmission
3. Anatomical and molecular consequences: (EFFECT) -abnormal bodily function (pathologic and physiologic)
4. Pertinent signs & symptoms of the client

Pathophysiology: Main etiology

1. Start with main etiology (CAUSE)
2. Consequences: Pathologic/ Physiologic (EFFECT)
- organ/s involved.
- blood vessels/ nerves affected
3. Pertinent signs & symptoms of the client
