E-Z MART Jim Yates Foundation

Education Grant
The E-Z MART Jim Yates Foundation has allocated funding for Education Grants to the
school systems located in the communities in which E-Z MART operates. The purpose
of these grants is to assist the educator in acquiring the tools necessary to instruct and
lead our children to higher levels of learning with the most current instructional methods.
Last year, E-Z MART contributed $65,129 to teachers wishing to enhance the classroom
experience. In the eleven year history of this program we have awarded $456,418 to
various teachers and school districts.

An application has been included and should be made available to those teachers who
would like to apply for an E-Z MART Jim Yates Foundation Education Grant. The
application must be completed in its entirety. All applications must be postmarked by
September 8, 2017. Only one grant application will be accepted for each teacher
choosing to participate. Please note that these grants will be made available to teachers in
grades K –12 in amounts not to exceed $1,000. Each application will be reviewed by
our Contributions Committee to determine which school projects or learning experiences
provide the most benefit for the children. Sporting activities will not be considered for
grant purposes. Projects could include, but are not limited to:

i Classroom supplies
i Electronic equipment which will enhance the children’s learning
experience
i Microscopes or science equipment
i Books & Educational DVDs
i Educational trips to museums, performing arts presentations, etc.

Please distribute this information to your teaching staff. To expedite the review process,
we ask that those applying do not deviate from the provided format. Teachers interested
in applying for the grants should return their individual cover sheet, application and
budget worksheet to the following address:

Length: Not to exceed 2 typewritten pages excluding Grant Cover Sheet and
Budget Worksheet
Please prepare a proposal using the following outline and headings:

I. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Describe your project. The idea should be


clearly explained. Please define technical terms and new techniques
throughout your proposal.

II. OBJECTIVES: The objective should be realistic in terms of the methods to be


used with regard to staff, space, time and students involved. Expected
outcomes should also be defined.

III. EDUCATIONAL VALUE: Provide your reason for pursuing this project.
The reason should be sound and clearly stated defining the number of students
to benefit.

IV. BUDGET: The maximum Grant allowance per request is $1,000. Please
provide an itemized budget using the budget proposal provided.
