The Al-Zami’h Drilling Est is part of the main Hamad Hadi Al-Zami’h
contracting Est. Group. After providing many years of successful quality work Al-
Zami'h contracting Est. has become a partner of international Drilling. Now after
many years of hard work Al-Zami'h Contacting Company has its own directional
drilling, micro tunneling, pipe jacking, pipe ramming, pipeline, and
telecommunications division. It has more than 35 years of providing quality service
to meet the needs of valued clients and customers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
and other countries in the Arabian Gulf.

Al-Zami’h drilling Est has expanded to include a unique group of

complementary work units that cater to a specific needs of a diverse list of clients,
which include Saudi Aramco, Saudi Electricity Company, SABIC, the Royal
Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, Ma-Aden Phosphate Company, Municipalities of
the Eastern and Northern Regions of Saudi Arabia and many others within and

Services provided and application

Auger Boring

Auger Boring Method consists of the use a dry rotating auger driven normally
through a jacked steel casing in Soft & Medium type Ground Condition. Casing is
jacked in as the auger advances. Boring machine typically is placed in a pit on grade
with the bore profile and exits into an Exit pit. Using a two casing system, some steerage
is possible. Method is widely used for road crossing from 12inch up to 60inch in
diameter and remains one of the most cost effective crossing methods in many areas.

Micro tunneling

Micro tunneling is a process by which a remote controlled tunneling machine is

driven from a drive shaft to a receiving shaft by means of a hydraulic jack. Tunneling
machine is launched from the pit through an entrance ring which isolates the ground
from the pit. Excavated soil is carried by a slurry mixture to the surface. Ground
pressures are equalized with slurry and jacking pressure. As the tunneling machine
is driven forward, jacking pipe is added onto the back of the machine. Steerage is
accomplished by means of a laser and hydraulic steering jacks inside the tunneling
machine. Micro tunneling can be used where grade must be maintained and where
the installation is deep.

Pipe Ramming:

Pipe ramming involves the use of a pneumatic hammer to drive a steel casing through
the ground. Soil is typically excavated from the casing with compressed air, an auger
or jetting. The Pipe ramming method can be used in unstable ground conditions which
include Water, Gravel, etc., Pipe ramming method can also be used without having a
Thrust Pit or Reception Pit depending on the ground condition. With small diameters
it is sometimes possible to ram closed - end pipes. This method is frequently
used to cross roads, Rivers, railways, embankments, etc.

Pipe Jacking:

Pipe
Jacking involves the jacking of steel, clay and concrete jacking pipe through the
ground by means of a hydraulic ram & mechanical excavation. The ram is
braced against the back wall of the thrust pit / thrust block opposite the proposed
tunneling direction in the thrust pit. Excavated Soil from the tunnel can be excavated
by an auger, slurry or conveyor. This type of equipment can work in soft, medium
and rock ground condition. Pipe jacking equipment is laser guided and is used
mainly for Sewerage lines where accuracy is very important.

Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD):

Horizontal Directional Drilling boring, commonly called Horizontal

Directional Drilling or HDD, is a method of installing underground pipes and
conduits along a prescribed bore path from the surface, with minimal impact to
the surrounding area. The process is used for installing telecommunications &
power cable conduits, water lines, gas lines and oil lines. It is used for crossing
waterways, roadways, shore approaches, congested areas, and
environmentally sensitive areas

This company's policy statement on Health and Safety is issued in

accordance with section 2 (3) of the Health and Safety at work Act 19

Al-Zami’h Drilling Est.

This company's policy is to give a high level of priority to the promotion of the
employee's health and safety at work and the health and safety of others who may be
affected by that work. This will be achieved by providing the necessary resources to
carry out its Health and Safety policy effectively. The main elements of this Policy
are as follows:

To ensure that all staff is informed of statutory Health and Safety requirements,
company and other accepted rules, procedures and codes of practice,
appropriate to their responsibilities.

To require that every employee, while at work, follows statutory regulations,

company and other accepted rules, procedures and codes of practice, takes all
reasonable care of the Health and Safety of himself and other persons who may be
affected by his acts or omissions, and co-operates with management in the
implementation of health and safety management measures.

To provide effective training and supervision in health and safety and to ensure, so far
as is reasonably practicable, that all work places are provided with safe means of
access and egress, are designed and maintained, so far as possible, to be free from

To ensure that all plant, tools, motor vehicles, premises and equipment are
designed and constructed or selected, with due consideration for health and safety

To provide as far as is reasonably practicable for the prompt first aid treatment of
injuries and illnesses occurring during the course of work.

It is Line Management's responsibility, from the Managing Director down, to ensure

that the Safety Policy, Safety Rules and Site Safety Instructions are implemented
on Company sites, in company offices and workshops/stores.

It is our policy that regular and frequent checks will be carried out by our
Managers and Agents.
Records of these inspections will be kept in duplicate, one copy sent to Head Office,
the other copy retained by the Manager or Agent.

All motor vehicle incidents must be reported immediately to Head Office.

Damages must be reported immediately to the Manager responsible.

Who will inform the utility concerned and Head Office?

The Safety Advisor will arrange training and provide assistance in regard to any Health
and Safety related matter upon request from an owner of the Company.

Al-Zami’h drilling Est. specializes in the construction of projects whose activities affect
the environment, mainly through the use and wastage of materials, the use of energy
and by affecting the neighboring environment.

The company has carried out a review of these impacts on the global
environment and has determined actions to control, and where practical, reduce
these impacts.

The company recognizes its responsibilities to manage its activities in order that the
efforts of their operatives, on both the local and global environment, are minimized.
The company is in the process of establishing an Environmental Management System
in accordance with the applicable requirements of 855750 - nou150900R 'Specification
of Environmental Management Systems'.

The system is being designed to ensure that environmental objectives are both set and
achieved throughout the company's operations. It is being developed in conjunction with
existing and specialist management functions. Detailed procedures will be used to
control operational and management activities as directed by the control policy.

The ow ners w ill be responsible for ensuring that the Environmental

Management System is implemented consistently and is reviewed regularly to improve
performance standards. An ESQ Officer, independent from commercial restraints, will be
appointed to manage the system. It is the responsibility of all staff to operate within the
