I. Introduction

Remote healthcare has become a vital service with the growing rate
of senior citizens. Health monitoring, rehabilitation, and assisted living for
the elderly and medically challenged humans is an emerging challenge
because they require seamless networking between people, medical
instruments, and medical and social service providers.
The Internet of Things (IoT) platform offers a promising technology to
achieve the aforementioned healthcare services, and can further improve
the medical service systems. IoT wearable platforms can be used to collect
the needed information of the user and its ambient environment and
communicate such information wirelessly, it is processed or stored for
tracking the history of the user.

II. Problem Statement

In today’s social insurance framework for patients who stays in home

during post operational days checking is done either via overseer/ medical
caretaker. Ceaseless observing may not be accomplished by this system,
so with this innovation created period where web administers the world
gives a thought to add to another keen health awareness framework
where time to time constant checking of the patient is accomplished.

III. Objective and scope of the project

 Hospital stays are minimized due to Remote Patient

Monitoring.
 Hospital visits for normal routine checkups are minimized.
 IoT monitoring proves really helpful when we need to
monitor and record and keep track of changes in the
health parameters of the patient over the period of time.
So with the IoT health monitoring, we can have the
database of this changes. Doctor can take the reference of
these changes while suggesting the treatment.

IV. Methodology

V. Hardware and software requirements

 Raspberry Pi microcontroller(ARM 11)

 LM35 Temperature Sensor
 16x2 LCD Display
 GSM-SIM90 , GPRS Module
 Heart Rate Sensor
 ECG
 Pedometer
 RASPBIAN OS
 Python language
 Embedded C language
 WiringPi

VI. Contribution of the Project

 Raspberry Pi reads the result serially. It also stores data in
MySQL database system.
 The ECG sample no. and its result both are stored into the
database using MySQL database management system. Every
time when the data is read serially, it gets updated into MySQL.
 A heart rate monitor is a personal monitoring device that allows
one to measure one's heart rate in real time or record the heart
rate for later study.
 Pedometers have been shown in clinical studies to increase
physical activity, and reduce blood pressure levels and Body
Mass index.
