Job Description of a Police officer

Duties Of a police officer can include:

 interviewing suspected criminals


 taking statements
 writing crime reports
 dealing with paperwork
 gathering prosecution evidence
 giving evidence in court
 fostering good relationships with the public
 patrolling areas by foot and car
 making and processing arrests
 searching suspects
 responding to emergencies
 offering advice and reassurance to the public
 controlling traffic/crowds
 keeping the peace/mediating in tense situations

 One must be 21years old, must pass competitive written exams.


 Being agile and good in shape, as police officers must be fast on feet.
 Being calm under stress and ability to make critical decisions.

 Range from a high school diploma to a college degree.


The minimum requirement is usually a high school diploma.
 Applicants have to complete at least one or two years of college coursework or have
an associate's degree.
