(IV) Did you go to the University?
(V) Do you think I might (modal) find a job in England as a nurse?
(5) ONLY for me: Nursing María learnt it by memory + practice in front of a mirrow + lo grabó en su móvil

1 Hello , my name is María and I am going to talk about nursing. I have chosen this topic because I am studying this degree at University in Jaen, I
would like to work as a nurse in a hospital and collaborate with the Red Cross. I like helping ill people and children. I want to be a pediatric nurse, I
love small kids, I like the emergency services too. I want to save peoples’ lives.

At the beginning nursing wasn’t a profession, they were called “carers” and they just had to (modals) obey doctors’ orders. Nowadays nursing
has been considered (passive) as a voluntary service and they are very important in the National Health Service.

(I) Did you know that? (QUESTION for your friends in class and the English examiner)

2 Now I am going to talk about some memories of my past. Some years ago my grandfather suffered from a heart attack he was at hospital and

was treated by nurses, they looked after (phrasal) him day and night. In addition, (linkers) my aunt is a nurse too and she has taught me how
to take blood pleasure test, giving injections…

(II) Have you got any relative who is a nurse or a doctor? (QUESTION for your friends in class and the English examiner)

My experience in Málaga two years ago: a man suffered from a heat stroke, he vomited and fainted, an ambulance came quickly everything was
back to normal. He was given the CPR-technique (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation = kiss of life = mouth-to-mouth res) = ( Darle a sb una RCP (reanimación
cardio-pulmonar) (idiom)

(III) If you had lived an experience like this, what would you have done? (conditional) (QUESTION for class and the English examiner)

3 My fist academic year at university: it was difficult and boring at the beginning. But now I have met a lot friends in the class from all over

Andalusia. We study bacteria with the microscope. Lessons have been going on (present perfect continuous) funnier and funnier and I
have attended classes with illusion. (IV) Did you go to the University? (QUESTION for your friends in class and the English examiner)

In the future, I am going to do my practical degree training next year in March in a hospital , I will need a pair of white pajamas that nurses usually
wear in Spain. Due to (linker) the bad economic situation in Spain I will have to work in Europe. The emergencies services are something that
attract my attention.

(V) Do you think I might (modal) find a job in England as a nurse? (QUESTION for your friends in class and the English examiner)

4 From my point of view, working with charities is essential in the world we are living in. I would like to help people to get better. Next summer I
would like to work for the Red Cross. I think raising money for charities is very important so that we can help a lot of poor and ill people in the
Third World. So this is my dream which one day I hope it will come true (idiom): to become a great nurse
