Question(s) and Reply(ies): Question: Section VIII, Division 2, 3.3.4.1 requires ultrasonic examination of hollow
forgings following SA-388. SA-388, paragraph 9.1.8 requires a straight-beam scan of
hollow forgings, and Paragraph 9.1.9 continues: “In addition, examine hollow forgings by
angle-beam technique…”. Do these paragraphs require the angle-beam examination
technique to be performed in addition to the straight-beam technique?
