Subsequences
1) is a limit point of sequence if either it is an AcP of Range set or this element appears in the
sequence infinitely many times.
2) Every bounded sequence has a limit point(Not conversely): BOLZANO WIESTRASS for Sequences.
3) If sequence is not bounded above then there exists a strictly increasing subsequence s.t. .
4) Every Limit point of subsequence is also limit point of sequence itself(Not Conversely).
5) If a sequence is monotonic it can have at most ONE limit point.
6) If a sequence is Monotonic & Bounded then it does have one and only one limit point.
7) If a sequence has two complementary subsequence then every limit point of sequence is a limit point of at
least one of these two subsequences.
8) If a sequence has a pair of complementary subsequences then sequence can have at most two limit points.
9) अनर्थ : Sequence having two limit points: Monotonic
Points to Ponder
1) is the limit point of sequence iff every neighborhood of leaves out only finite members of
sequence .
2) If a sequence is convergent then it has unique limit point & that to limit itself.
3) If a sequence is convergent it is bounded(Not Conversely)
4) A bounded sequence is convergent iff it has unique limit point.
5) A monotonic sequence is convergent iff it is bounded.
6) If a sequence has complementary pair of convergent subsequences with same limit then sequence is
convergent.
7) If a sequence is convergent then its every subsequence is also convergent and converge to same limit where
sequence itself is convergent.
8) A sequence has a limit point iff it has a convergent subsequence .
