BBA 6.2: MICRO SMALL MEDIUM ENTERPRISE MANAGEMENT


w.e.f. academic year 2015-16 & onwards
MARKS : 100 MINIMUM CONTACT HOURS: 50
CREDITS :4 TEACHING HOURS: 4 HRS/WEEK

Objective: The course has been designed to prepare the student to set up and manage the
small- scale industries of their own instead of searching for jobs.

Module 1: (10 hrs)


Small Scale Industries: Meaning, definition and significance in Indian national economy
problems and the steps taken up by the government to tackle their problem. The role of MSME
international business, make in India concept.
Industrial Sickness: Meaning, Magnitude of Problem, Causes, Remedies.

Module 2: (12 Hrs)


SSI project formulation project identification and selection, formulation project report writing
location for MSME, industrial estates and the role or KIADB, TEKSOC registration with DIC,
converting business opportunities into reality.

Module 3: (06 hrs)


Financial Management: Fixed capital and working capital estimation, sources of finance,
subsidies and incentives, venture capital

Module 4: (04 Hrs)


Production Management: Plant layout, types of layout Product Design, Product Mix, Inventory-
Control Quality Standards.

Module 5: (10 Hrs)


Marketing Management: Pricing Policy Methods, Avenues for Marketing, Sales Promotion, Role
of KSIMA.
Human Resource Management: HRP Recruitment, Selection, Training. Appraisals, compensation
methods

Module 6: (08 Hrs)


Role of SIDO, SSIDC, SIS, DIC.
Visit to local MSME’s, and institutions supporting MSME’s (RUDSET, DIC, AWAKE, CEDOK)

Note: Extra 10 hours devoted for activities like Seminars, GD, Projects, Role-Plays,
Management Games etc.
1. Visit to MSME & identify success/failure factors
2. Identify 5 innovative business ideas and design a project report for any one.
3. Visit to institutions supporting MSME.
