Laua-laua is a gregarious stoloniferous grass. Stems are spreading and
branching below withe the flowering branches 20 to 70 centimeters high.
Leaves are narrow lanceolate, flat and thin, glabrous, 8 to 20 centimeters
long, 5 to 15 millimeters wide. Spikes are two, terminal, slender and 6 to 12
centimeters long. The spikelets are imbricate, 1.2 to 1.4 millimeters long, pale-
green, plano-convex, the empty glumes with long, soft, white marginal hairs.

Mani is an annual, spreading, hairy, branched herb, with stems 30 to 80
centimeters long. Leaves are pinnate, 8 to 12 centimeters long, with a
clasping petiole base and the sheath produced in 2 linear-lanceolate stipules.
Leaflets are in two pairs, oblong to obovate, 2 to 5 centimeters long. Flowers
are axillary, few, fascicled, yellow, about 8 millimeters long. Pods ripen
underground and are oblong, leathery, reticulate, 1 to 5 centimeters long,
containing 1 to 3 seeds that are oval and smooth.

Mondo grass is a low, stemless, glabrous, grasslike, perennial herb with large
stolons with tuberous roots. Leaves are leathery, narrow-linear, 20 to 30
centimeters long, gracefully arching and dark green. Flowers are small,
drooping, violet-purple to lilac or white, borne on erect racemes up to 8
centimeters long. Fruit is a blue berry, 5 millimeters in diameter.

Bunga-bunga is a spreading or prostrate, erect, more or less branched,
glabrous, succulent herb, 0.4 to 1.4 meters high. The ultimate branches are
covered with two lines of hairs on the internodes, and the flowering ones are
ascending. Leaves are stalkless, simple or pinnately compound, the leaflets
elliptic, crenate or obscurely toothed, usually about 2.5 to 7 centimeters long,
thick and succulent. Flowers are minute, 5 to 7 millimeters long, paniculate,
pendulous, white, and crowded in very short, axillary heads. Sepals are
lanceolate, 2 to 2.5 millimeters long. Fruit is dry and flattened, broadly
obcordate utricle, containing one seed.
