Present and the Present Progressive?

1. Use

Simple Present Present Progressive/Continuous

 repeated actions

 fixed arrangements, scheduled actions happening at the moment of speaking or


events (e.g. timetable) around the moment of speaking

 sequence of actions in the  fixed plan in the near future


present (first - then, after that)  temporary actionstrends
 instructions  repeated actions which are irritating to the speaker
