Value is progressively derived from ERP systems in four main areas:

2) Productivity

3) Analysis

4) Decision-Making/Strategy

The effort put forth by the organization to realize the value is significantly higher at the bottom
portion of the pyramid, and conversely the effort for the upper portion is significantly less and the
potential ROI very high. Yet most companies never fully move to the top two tiers: Analysis and
Strategy. This is where the key differences can be made in an organization.
