IF you intend to prepare a workshop for 28.04.2012 please let me know in due time, i.e. till
the end of March: the theme (the wife; the mother; woman on a pedestal; the sex object;
women without men; woman becoming) + the names

For WORKSHOPS:
- read the texts assigned on that date
- have your own copy with you (most important)
- come prepared with anything special about the author/autobiography, which is related to
the theme
- prepare according to the theme (e.g. the wife, the mother, etc.)
- be familiar with text vocabulary
- we will work on the text

Evaluation:
- Presentation Skills
- Content
- English proficiency (pronunciation, grammar, spelling, meaning)

For written EXAM *Colloquium* The students who were not part of any course workshop, being
absent for several reasons. Please speak to each other in case you decide to have a workshop on a
topic from the course syllabus. And then please let me know as well.
* there will be a scheduled exam, NOT colloquium.

- to write a short essay/comment on “woman and womanhood” as presented in two short


stories from the seminar list, (chosen from Ferguson’s collection): a comparative analysis
(the wife; the mother; woman on a pedestal; the sex object; women without men; woman
becoming). (250-300 words). If you do not bring a copy of the short stories at the exam,
which you are going to hand in together with the short essay, you will not be able to write
the essay.
