Weather Expectations
Grade: 4th

Subject: Science

Length of Lesson: 2 one-hour lessons

Lesson Students will represent and understand how the weather changes

Overview/Rationale: depending on the seasonal times. Students will work in groups of two.

weather conditions expected during a particular season.”

· Students will be able to recognize weather patterns throughout the year
· Students will demonstrate their understanding through the display of tables and graphs on a poster
· Students will be able to describe what each seasons’ weather is like

Procedure:
1. I will provide a PowerPoint presentation showing them an example of what their posters should
look like
2. One student will research the weather patterns in Michigan throughout one full year
3. He/she will find that different seasons come with different weather predictions
4. The second student will begin to work on the poster board
5. He/she will create a table which allows them to easier make their graphs
6. They will come together to create a graph providing the information from the table
7. They will use their markers to make it colorful and define the different seasons in their graph

Assessment:
· I will grade the students on their understanding of the way they presented the weather changes
throughout the year on their poster board
Total possible points for each individual: 10pts
