Test Procedure

 Team Member Names: Eli, Annie, Martin

 Incremental Testing Summary: Tested amount of pressure scissors apparatus

could withstand, tested ability of rubber coating to increase friction between apparatus
and scissors, tested durability of product.

 Testing Date: Provide date(s) that the test will be run. You must have teacher
approval before testing.

 Testing Location: Austin High School

 Purpose: Tests will determine ability of our product to be used in a classroom

environment, and its feasibility regarding implementation and usage by our target
audience.

 Initial Conditions: The prototype is completed, the device is installed properly,

student is given scissors and life skills teachers okay our product for student use and
testing.

Materials: N/A, our product requires only scissors and our apparatus. A student is
required for testing as well.

 Pass or Fail Criteria: Passing or successful product will allow a life skills student
with dyspraxia to cut paper into any shape without the assistance of teachers or parents,
and an apparatus that can be used indefinitely without breaking. Some indicators of a
failing product would be a fragile apparatus, or student confusion regarding use of
scissors.

Procedures: Attach product to scissors, get teachers approval, and ask a life skills
student to cut paper using our product.

Safety Considerations: Life skills students attempt to use scissors every day, we would
just need teacher’s approval before handing a student our scissors. We would also want
teachers to observe and moderate the usage of our product by their students.

 Data: Tensile strength, (N/m^2)

Data Collection Graph or Sheet: Line graph showing tensile strength vs. # of cuts.
This would allow us to see how durable our product is when implemented over a long
span of time.

 Expert Feedback: Seek feedback from experts on your testing plans. Is the test
valid? What are the limitations of your testing method? Be sure to cite your sources and
include new contacts in the Contacts section of your engineering notebook.

 Instructor Comments and Signature: Seek input from your instructor. This is
where your teacher will respond to your testing procedure. It may contain information
that you will need to input into the final testing procedure before performing the actual
test.
