Zeal for Your House Will Consume Me – Jesus reacts passionately upon
seeing the money changers and vendors in the temple area taking advantage
of those who were coming to worship. After all, the temple was to be a
house of prayer and sacrifice, not a place to make a profit off of the unsus-
pecting faithful. Jesus does not just sit back after witnessing such injustice.
Instead, he acts confidently to bring about needed change. We can all think
about things in the Church that are in need of change. Some may wonder why there are so
many empty pews and why there are seemingly few young people and families active in the
Church. Others may ask why the same people seem to be the ones who always do everything
for the parish. Still others may feel that they are no opportunities for them to share their gifts
and get involved. On Mission for The Church Alive! is an opportunity for us to be inspired, to
be consumed with zeal for the Church, the house and family of God, so that we may act with
confidence in sharing our lives for the good of the Church. We all have a part to play in
strengthening the Church of Pittsburgh. Visit onmissionchurchalive.org to learn more and to

Easter Blessing of Families -- On Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018, Bishop David Zubik together with
his brothers Auxiliary Bishop William Waltersheid and Retired Auxiliary Bishop William Winter
will welcome families of the Diocese of Pittsburgh to the Annual Blessing of Families at Saint Paul
Cathedral in Oakland at 2:00 pm. All are welcome to the Cathedral to receive this special Blessing
imparted by our bishops as they also take the opportunity to thank families for the beautiful witness
of love and faith that they share with us.
“It is in giving of ourselves that we receive.” As in any sport being it baseball, football, basketball,
etc. you need the whole team to make a successful outcome. So, I want to thank my team members
for giving of their time, work and laughter for the Ladles of Love soup ministry: Jim Sipes, Jane Ha-
zen, Terry Rostcheck, Dave and Dee Spochacz, Victor Savage, Kim Guarinoni, Susan Secrist, Terry
Lewis, Janice Trumpie, Beverly Seich, Edie Rubino and Denise, Colby and Lindsey Baer. And a Spe-
cial thanks to Fr. Bill for his support of this ministry.
THANK YOU ALL AND GOD BLESS! Gert Wiliuszis
