1 Scope of instruction
This documents describes how the firmware 4.20 SR2 can be installed on a CPC100.
These instructions will guide you through this process.
NOTICE
In case you do not have OMICRON Customer account yet, you can click on the button “Sign up
now!” for registering.

Step 4: After accessing the Customer Portal, click on the “three bars” located on the right side of your avatar

Step 7: Download the latest Primary Test Manager software.
NOTICE
Check before downloading if your PC/Laptop has a 64-bit or 32-bit operating system
o X64 = for 64-bit operating systems
o X86 = for 32-bit operating systems
The Windows command prompt can be used to check if the Windows operating system uses 64
or 32 bit

3 Installing the Primary Test Manager software + Firmware upgrade
After the Primary Test Manager software, had been downloaded successfully, please execute the following
steps to install it.
Before starting, please make sure that the CPC100 is wired via Ethernet cable with your computer.

Step 1: Execute the program PTMSetup_4.20_SR2_xNN.exe within the root folder from PTM 4.20

Step 3: Select a corresponding language and click on OK.

Step 5: Select which test devices shall be enabled in the Primary Test Manager
NOTICE
This selection can be changed after the successfully installation of the Primary Test Manager
software in the “Settings” section.
Step 6: Leave the point “Create CPC Startpage shortcut on desktop enabled” and in case the CPC100 is
already wired to the PC/Laptop, the firmware upgrade can directly be started when the point “Upgrade CPC
after setup completion” is enabled

Step 7: Decide if the OMICRON Primary Manager update check shall be enabled or disabled and click on
Install

Step 9: If option Upgrade CPC after setup completion had been enabled during step 6, the following
CPC100 upgrade option will be displayed after a successful Primary Test Manager installation.
Step 10: When clicking on the button Upgrade device…, the Windows Explorer launches in the directory of
the CPC100 firmware files
NOTICE
There are three files:
Step 11: When the appropriate firmware file had been chosen, clicking on Yes start the upload procedure
from transferring the firmware file from the PC/Laptop to the flash disk of the CPC100

Step 12: Wait till the upload procedure is complete
Step 13: After the successfully PTM installation and the optional CPC100 firmware upgrade, clicking on
Finish will close the software installation procedure.
Step 14: Disconnect the CPC 100 from your computer and reboot the CPC100.

Step 15: After the reboot, check if the new firmware version is indicated in the CPC100-System Information.
The system information is accessed by pressing the hammer/screwdriver button on the CPC front panel and
browsing to the System Info tab.
NOTICE
Please be informed that the stored test files are not affected or deleted by the software upgrade
process!
The CPC100 firmware version 4.20 SR2 will be indicated by the term “4.20 SR 2 (2024)”.

Step 17: Launch PTM and clicking at About, it can be checked, which version is installed
NOTICE
The PTM version 4.20 SR2 will be indicated by the version 4.20.002.1576 2018-02-10.

Step 18: Press Connect to establish a connection
Step 19: When the firmware upgrade and connection attempt was successful, then the Connect button will
turn into a Disconnect button and the CPC100 will be visible in the task bar.
