Activity report

December 11th to 15th

Monday and Tuesday

I worked with Luis Duarte and Jakub Jagodzki on the startup of one Condor Island for the project CC1259
which uses Allen-Bradley PLC and FANUC.

 Initial configuration for PLC, safety PLC, drivers and remote I/O.
 Tested automatic and manual mode
 Configurations on the FANUC and creation of recipes without PPT
o DCS and safety signature from PLC
o Set of frames for pickup 1/2/3 and drop 1/2/3
o Set of pick up position type 1 and 2 and drop position type 1 and 2 for line number 1.

Wednesday and Thursday

I spent two days on the BEMA Lab with Said Ouchgair who trained us in general topics on a Silkworm
Turbo.

 Concepts on the wrapper context like rope, stretch, pre-stretch, turn, lap, presser, etc.
 Brief introduction to the wrapper´s hardware.
o How the machine measures the pallet dimensions
o Presence sensors and safety requirements related to them
o Pressers components and sensors
o Rotary table component and sensors
o How change the wrapping fill and the components on the wrapper head.
 Navigation on the HMI
 Manual controls on the conveyor, wrapper head, presser and rotary table.
 Parameter calibration such as:
o Dandy roller calibration
o Offset compensation on Z when the rope is used
o Pincher and cutter delay
 Creation of recipes
o Different recipes using two different product pallets (boxes and bottles) to see the
difference on the parameters that are needed.
o Exercises with the objective of get familiar with all the options that the recipe assistant
has.
 Troubleshooting, Said create two situations in which the machine was not working properly, we
had to find the problem and solve it. Both problems were related to the wiring on the electrical
cabinet.

Friday

We went again to the new warehouse to work in the project CC1259 with Luis Duarte. We reviewed some
of the concepts that we practiced on Monday and Tuesday mainly in the FANUC, such as the creation of
recipes without using PPT, basic functions of the robot, manual movement and gripper activation
navigation through the teach pendant and safety concepts.

This time we use a different program on the PLC to simulate the creation of layers, by doing this, we could
test frames, pickup and drop position for the three lines. We found one error on frame for pickup 2.
