Significance of the Study

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the resettlement programs of

National Housing Authority (NHA) for informal settler families (ISFs). It will be imperative to

accumulate pertinent data in order to come up with an analysis that will show the effectiveness of

the resettlement program of NHA and will also address its possible insufficiencies and flaws.

The outcome of this study will be beneficial to the following:

To the National Housing Authority (NHA), as the sole agency responsible for housing

programs, this study will help them to validate the effectiveness of resettlement programs they

set for informal settler families. On the other hand, this will be salutary to the agency to review

their program if the result of this study will manifest that there are inadequateness in their

program. In such case, this study will also be helpful to the agency to make further

improvements.

To the informal settler families, who are the main subjects of the program, this study will

be beneficial for them to be aware of the quality of their lives under the assistance of the

program. This analysis will help the ISFs to be enlightened about the basic services that are

supposedly covered by the resettlement program thus, will help them to assert their right to an

adequate serivces.

To the Adamson University, as an academic institution, this study will be helpful to its

community in giving emphasis to helping the poor, such as informal settlers, which is one of the

core values of Vincentian teachings. If published by Adamson University Technology Research

and Development Center (AUTRDC), this study can be used as a reference by the other students

in their course and those who will conduct the same research.
To the local government units, as a partner of NHA in implementing resettlement

programs, the outcome of this analysis will be helpful not only to the specified LGU, but also to

other local government units, for them to be aware that there are other matters to be considered

aside from the houses that they will provide such as basic necessities and services that will be

highly needed by the informal settlers.

To the future researchers, hopefully, this study will provide information that can help

them to conduct further and thorough research on the same topic. The outcome of this analysis

will serve as a basis of comparison for the mutable housing programs of NHA and can be subject

to future study through which it can be developed and can be filled with new insights.

To the society as a whole, this study will impart knowledge and information regarding the

housing program of NHA. This study will serve as a ground to look closer and understand the

lives of informal settler families and their struggle to acquire decent housing. This study may

also help to raise empathy rather than displease to the poor within the society and can catch the

attention of the government to solve the problems of those least privileged people.
