Narrative Report: First Quarter

In the First Quarter were able to discuss about Earth and its neighbors in space. Earth Science
has its branches which are Geology that studies Earth, Meteorology study of Earth’s weather and
climate. Oceanography the study of Earth’s ocean and lastly Astronomy the study of universe . In this
topic were able to know how to deal with composition of Earth’s materials, processes in the
atmosphere, organism under water and how the universe behave . In this quarter the topics focus on a
theory that explains the existence of volcanoes and other geologic features.

In the first module we tackle about Plate Tectonics. We were able to know more about tectonic
plate theory that states that the Earth crust and the upper mantle which forms the lithosphere and
broken into nine large plates and several smaller ones which are moving around and their movement
cause changes in the earth’s crust. We also tackle about the different kinds of Plate boundary which
are the Divergent boundary, Convergent boundary and Transform fault . And we get a chance to
perform a dance number using this Boundaries, showing how plates move. It’s an awesome and very
enjoyable activity plus we get to learn from this topic.

In the second module about the Earth’s Interior. We learn about the connection between these
processes with the internal structure and mechanisms of our planet. In one of the activity we
differentiate the different types of seismic waves using the organizer. We encountered the
composition of earth’s interior and the continental drift. We also conducted an experiment describing
the seafloor spreading process using strips of paper.

In every activity or experiment we conduct there’s always an enjoyable moments but aside from
that were able to understand every topic.
Narrative Report: Second Quarter

In this unit were able to tackle about Force, Motion and Energy. It explains how moving iron core
within the Earth acts like a giant bar magnet. It a weak geomagnetic field that surrounds and partially
protects us from solar radiation. This produces a solar magnetic field that spreads throughout the solar
and beyond. Moreover a solar wind of charged particles constantly interacts with the earth’s changing
geomagnetic field.

In the first module about Electricity and Magnetic. We were able to conduct an experiment
between magnets and other objects showing it attracts or repel. Magnets exert either a force of
repulsion or attraction. We also identify the polarities and strengths of a bar magnets and magnetized
objects using a compass. We also observe and draw magnetic field patterns surrounding different
magnets and magnet combinations .

In the second module about ElectroMagnetic Spectrum. We encounter different regions of the
ElectroMagnetic Spectrum. We also discover how electric field could create a magnetic field and vice
versa. We encounter different scientist and their contributions to the Electromagnetic wave Theory.
They are Ampere, Faraday, Hertz, Maxwell and Oersted. We learned how to get the frequency,
wavelength and wavespeed. In one of the experiment we concuct we used the RC car controller and
the different materials such as aluminum foil, plastic wrappers and papers to identify materials that
can block or allow waves to pass through.

In the third module about Light: Mirrors and Lenses. We study the two properties of visible –
reflection and refraction. In one of the activity we determine the height width and the distance from
the mirror of the image formed by plane mirrors. One law of Reflection states that “ The normal line,
incedent ray and reflected ray lie on the same plane”.
Narrative Report: Third Quarter

In third quarter were able to discuss about the coordination and Functions of our Nervous and
Respirator system. We also tackled about the different parts of our brain and sex organs. Different
glands and systems are also included. We learned that if any part of these system may fail to function
properly this may affect the whole body due to unbalance control of our organs and systems. This part
is very practical and truly happens in life of every individual that’s why it’s very controversial, being an
open-minded is needed but it’s really great! We really feels the refreshment of our mind about this
topic.

In the second module “Heredity: Inheritance and Variaton” was the topic all about. In our activity
craons, scisscors, and scotch tapes was just the materials needed to accomplish our task.. see? Easiest
and simplest way!!Significant matters was able to disscuss because it’s all about the DNA and RNA and
the connections between our genes and enzymes that every human like you and me should have
known. It also explains in this part how DNA replication takes place, how RNA was made using DNA
information translated into protein.

This quarter is very memorable because there’s so many twisted and unforgettable moments we
shared. We learned so much more than we ever learned before. Fragile memories were able to
treasure and keep.
