Glossary of Abbreviations Thoughts on the Machine Wraith

Machine Wraith in a nutshell

There's two schools of thought on the Machine Wraith. The first, is that you take him for
Machine Meld and it is an extremely situational ability. In fact, considering how likely you're

use is almost zero.
How to Edit
If and when you possess an enemy jack, don't expect to stay there long as it becomes a

Rules Clarifications The second school of thought is that he is a dirt cheap Incorporeal model that can block

doesn't have to. You can even use the model to threaten weak support solos with Mechano-
Claws!

If you like to annoy the hell out of your enemy and don't mind spending a point to do so,
the Machine Wraith could be worth taking.

Thoughts on using Machine Wraith(s) in a Puppet Master force

Despite being a Cryx model, the Machine Wraith is specifically allowed in the Puppet
Master mercenary contract. If it is included, it counts as a mercenary model (not a Cryx
model). You can view the complete Puppet Master force here.

Combos & Synergies
Taking 2 Machine Wraiths can be more than twice as disruptive to the enemy as
one. Especially if you're following the second school of thought.

Drawbacks & Downsides

He doesn't block LOS.
People don't tend to field the sorts of warjacks that he can possess.

Tricks & Tactics

If the enemy exorcises you via damaging the jack, you don't actually exit the jack
until your own maintenance phase. At which point it is your turn again, and you can
jump straight back in.
If the enemy exorcises you via spending focus, then try and exit the jack in such a
location that you can't get shot by magic weapons/spells and/or where you're
engaging multiple models.

Rules Clarifications
Machine Meld
Effects that are on the warjack will stay in place. For instance upkeep spells on the
warjack (both friendly and enemy) will stay until that caster's next maintenance
phase, at which point they can be upkept/expire normally.
You can't activate the warjack on the same round you possess it.
The possessed jack is not part of your battlegroup, so you can not allocate focus to
it, can not channel spells through its arc node, etc.
When you're exorcised, you're still Incorporeal.
You can't use a special action after charging.

Incorporeal edit

Please refer to the Incorporeal page itself for its clarifications - it has such a long list
that we didn't want to repeat it here.
