    1 HOUSE BILL NO. 1419
    2 AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE
    3 (Proposed by the Senate Committee on Education and Health
    4 on February 22, 2018)
    5 (Patron Prior to Substitute––Delegate Delaney)
    6 A BILL to include unstructured recreational time in any calculation of total instructional time.
    7 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
    8 1. § 1. Local school boards may include and the Board of Education shall accept, for elementary
    9 school, unstructured recreational time that is designed to develop teamwork, social skills, and overall
    10 physical fitness in any calculation of total instructional time or teaching hours.
