Every student who studies in the province of Alberta


requires an Alberta Student Number (ASN). If the
applicant does not already have an ASN, APAS will
create an ASN number as part of the application.

The personal information that is entered must be the information as it appears in the applicant’s passport.
The current address should be that of the applicant which is to appear on the Letter of Acceptance.

International student applicants do not need to enter their High School Courses and Marks into this
application. The applicant’s admission eligibility will be determined through the review of transcripts
provided which demonstrate completion of academic admission requirements.

Special Notes for International Student Applicants


Have you contacted the International Education Department at Bow Valley to inquire about seat availability for
the program you are applying for? Seats for some programs fill up many months in advance. Please contact the
International Education Department for information on programs that currently have seats availability.

 English Language Learning please select the INTERNATIONAL ESL program to apply for our full-time
International English Learning program. Please note international applicants cannot apply directly into the
English for Academic Purposes course; this level will be offered to students based on assessment results.
 Practical Nurse Diploma – International applicants may apply to the January and May start dates for the
Practical Nurse Diploma program. The Fall start dates are not available to International students.
 Pharmacy Technician Diploma – an on-site keyboarding assessment is required as part of the admission
requirements for this program. Applicants must be available to complete this keyboarding assessment at
Bow Valley College prior to gaining acceptance and receiving a Letter of Acceptance.
 Health Care Aide Certificate – this program is less than 6 months. International students who graduate
from this program would not be eligible for the Post-graduate Work Permit program from Citizenship and
Immigration Canada.
 Business Administration Diploma – the first year of the Business Administration Diploma is a general year.
Students select an area of specialization for their second year of study.

Valley admission officers reserve the right to request original copies.
All transcripts translations must be conducted by an official translator.
