1 a. Discuss the drafting and design technique in tool drawing. (10 Marks)
b. Illustrate the following tools of tool maker :
i) Tool maker’s parallel clamps

2 a. Explain with sketches different types of drilling bushes used in drilling machine as per
ANSI. (10 Marks)
b. What are the major elements to be considered while designing milling cutter? Explain
briefly. (10 Marks)

3 a. State and explain briefly any four non–metallic tooling materials. (10 Marks)
b. Discuss briefly the important elements of drill that can be taken carse of while designing a
drill. (10 Marks)

4 a. Explain the following :

i) Indicating gage
ii) Automatic gage. (08 Marks)
b. Explain briefly principles of location and clamping. (06 Marks)
c. Explain with sketch conical locator. (06 Marks)

5 a. Write a note on drill Jigs and modern manufacturing. (06 Marks)

b. What are fixtures, list the various aspects considered for economic use of a fixture.

c. Explain with sketch surface grinding fixture. (08 Marks)

6 a. Explain with sketch the following die cutting operation

i) Lancing
ii) Cutting off
iii) Notching
iv) Shaving

7 a. Explain with sketch shell moudling process, tools used and design consideration for shell
moulding. (10 Marks)

8 a. Explain in detail fixture design for numerically controlled machine tools. (10 Marks)
b. Explain the applications of epoxy plastic tools. (10 Marks)
