Design

The target consumers to adapt the design of the machine are those dwelling in

island and islets without reliable source of water supply. A good portion is not degree

holders. Their level of acceptability of the design is taken into account, the level of

perception would matter to the utility of the project vis-à-vis its practical usage. Experts

from various fields’ perception are taken into account as well to facilitate the acceptability

of the machine design.

Table 5 exhibits the perception of the level of acceptability of the machine from

various respondents. Experts and common residents’ perception are taken into account.

As shown on the table, the design rated an average mean of 4.42 or a verbal description

of highly acceptable. It is noteworthy that as perceived by all the respondents, the design

of the device is highly acceptable as evidenced by the average rating which are 4.31 or

highly acceptable by the water refilling station employees, 4.29 or highly acceptable for

the refilling station owners, 4.29 with a verbal description highly acceptable for the

common residents and 4.78 or highly acceptable for the experts. It connotes that the
design is highly acceptable by all types of people and the average ratings of the experts

in mechanical aspect is very remarkable.

Safety precautions is package for every technology operation and manipulation.

This section presents the respondents perception on the safety of the device during

average mean of 4.48 or highly satisfactory. It connotes that as perceived by the

respondents, the device is indeed safe to use thus posing no threats to both life and

property during operations. As perceived by the water refilling station owners who has

various experience on water machines 4.36 or highly acceptable, it rated an average

mean of 4.11 or highly acceptable from refilling station employees and 4.60 or highly

acceptable from the ratings of the common residents. It means that from the common

households view, the machine is sellable or safe for adaptation and it is significant that

the experts manifested the highest average rating of 4.86 which is also highly acceptable.
