LORIGO SKIRTS DISCLOSURE LAWS;

LACKS MORAL AUTHORITY TO BE GOVERNOR

Albany, NY -- The following letter was sent to Erie County Chairman, Ralph C. Lorigo, by
Executive Vice Chair, Shaun Marie Levine, questioning Mr. Lorigo’s apparent inability to follow
Election Law disclosure requirements:

September 11, 2010

Ralph C. Lorigo, Esq.

Erie County Conservative Party Chairman
2701 South Park Avenue
Buffalo, New York 14218-1511

Dear Mr. Lorigo:

I received your letter “Move over Mike” dated September 7, 2010 in the mail today (9/11/10) and
via email yesterday. To say that I am shocked and disappointed in you is an understatement.
You use the skills that you have acquired as a successful lawyer very well twisting facts, hoping
that the “jury” will believe your scenario, and vote according to your perverse logic.

Granted, I am a staunch Lazio supporter and a stauncher Mike Long supporter, because I
choose to be, I therefore cannot let your outright lies about both these men go unanswered.
You attack Rick Lazio for being pro-choice, I ask you why you do not lead your committee and
have them reject legislators who support the horrific partial birth abortion? Rick Lazio, while he
describes himself as pro-choice, draws the line on partial birth abortion, why do your candidates
support it? How can I know what you would do if you became Governor when you allow, even
encourage, your committee to endorse these legislators?

Mr. Lazio supports the second Amendment, as I do, and to be quite honest, I do not agree with
everyone who calls him “anti-gun” because he voted for the Assault Weapons Ban. I ask you,
why would anyone, not in a combat situation, need an assault weapon? Criminals? Then why
not give the law enforcement agencies a stronger tool to get assault weapons out of the hands
of criminals. Just because a person may want to get assault weapons out of the hands of
criminals, does not make them anti-gun.

Equating Andrew Cuomo’s role at HUD and Rick Lazio’s Chairmanship of the House sub-
committee is just plain laughable and seriously misleading, but that is what a trial lawyer does to
confuse the jury and try to sway their vote.

You chastise Mr. Lazio for becoming a lobbyist, while you defended the owner of a strip joint
on the grounds that everyone is entitled to a defense. Trying to keep a strip-joint open, on a
technicality, after being raided by the FBI for prostitution and drugs, doesn’t strike me as a the
best way to earn a living. Since you are telling me how Mr. Lazio and Mr. Long have sold out,
I ask you, did you really need that client and wouldn’t the people of Buffalo be better served if
illegal drugs were not dispensed at that bar? Why didn’t you have the strength and willingness
to take a stand against your friend and tell him to find another lawyer?

You lecture in your letter that our Party does not get stronger by putting Party leaders and their
family members into political patronage jobs while stating that our state chairman should have
kept Pataki to the right. So which is it? The point of supporting and electing candidates is to
have that candidate support your platform. Wouldn’t the best way to get a platform adopted be
by hiring those who can administer the necessary changes by those who understand the issues
and happen to be conservative?

You state that Chairman Long should have had more influence to keep New York on the right
path. And I say to you that you should have helped by not endorsing candidates who voted to
make Shelly Silver Speaker, the very same Speaker who undermined every effort to make real
change and cut spending!

You made a presentation to the State Executive Committee and the State Committee for your
candidate Carl Paladino and he was as soundly rejected, as was your plea for Brian Higgins
and your endorsement of Bryon Brown who was rejected by the people of Buffalo.

You end your letter by stating, “quite shockingly, Mike has spent over $600,000 on a primary
campaign ad for Lazio.” Ralph, you are a lawyer and a county chairman and as such, you
should be very aware of election law. Please explain where your money is coming from.
Election Law requires disclosure...how does your campaign explain two letters, numerous
emails and so far, two robo calls, all paid for by the Friends of Ralph Lorigo...oh, excuse
me the last letter does not indicate who paid for it....when the Friends of Ralph Lorigo has
approximately $5000 in its account with no listed activity since last June. (see Politico article
attached.)

Ralph Lorigo, as a candidate, county chairman and lawyer, you have the responsibility to follow
Election Law the same as every other candidate. If you skirt Election Law disclosure, please
explain to me how you would have the moral authority to govern.

Sincerely,

Shaun Marie Levine
