A Consecrated Period of Time Between the Feast of Trumpets (Yom

A Call to the
DAYS OF AWE
TEN-DAY GUIDE
FOR PRAYER/FASTING/SOUL SEARCHING &
UNCEASING INTERCESSION for the NATIONS
(September 21 – September 30, 2017)

In the Hebrew calendar, the first day of the seventh month is the Feast of Trumpets (Leviticus 23:23-
25). The Jewish New Year’s Day, Rosh Hashanah (lit. "the head of the year") is also celebrated during this
day. The holiday is observed on the first two days of the Hebrew month of Tishri (i.e., the seventh “new
moon” of the year), which usually falls in September or October and after ten days, the fast day of Yom
Kippur or Day of Atonement is celebrated (Leviticus 23:26-28; Leviticus 16:30). This ten-day period is called
the “Days of Awe” (Heb. Yamim Noraim) or the High Holy Days.

Yom Kippur, or the “Day of Atonement,” is the holiest day of the Jewish year, and provides prophetic
insight regarding the Second Coming of the Messiah, the restoration of the nation of Israel, and the final
judgment of the world. It is also a day that reveals the High Priestly work of the Lord Jesus as our very own
High Priest after the order of Melchizedek (Hebrews 5:10, 6:20)

The message of the central book of the Torah (Leviticus) is that since God is holy, we must be holy in
our lives as well, and this means first of all, being conscious of the distinction between the sacred and the
profane, the clean and the unclean, and so on; “You are to distinguish between the holy and the common,
and between the unclean and the clean (Lev. 10:10; Ezek. 44:23). Just as God separated the light from darkness
(Gen.1:4), so we are to discern between the realms of the holy and the profane, the sacred and the common,
and the clean and the unclean. Indeed, the Bible states “God called the light, Day, and darkness He called
night,” thereby associating His Name with the light but not with darkness (Gen. 1:5) The Days of Awe, and
is viewed as a special time for self-examination, repentance, and asking for forgiveness from God and from
others, a time of returning to God.

One of the themes of Rosh Hashanah until the “Day of Awe” is that God has “books” that He writes
our names in, noting who will live and who will die in the forthcoming year. These books are written on Rosh
Hashanah, but our deeds during the Days of Awe can alter God’s decree. The actions that change the decree
are our degree of repentance (teshuvah), the intensity of our prayers (tefillah) and our charity or good deeds
(tzedakah). The books are closed and sealed on Yom Kippur / Day of Atonement.

This is the day that we as children of God, as watchman intercessors for the Philippines and as watchman
intercessors for the nations of the world, to make our appeal before the Lord. This is our last chance to
change “the judgment of God” and to demonstrate our repentance and make amends.

In this season of consecration, repentance and turning to God, it is important to keep in heart that those
who are trusting the Lord Jesus as our ultimate ATONEMENT before the Father God are thereby declared
His righteous ones (tsaddikim) and our names are written and sealed in the Book of Life. The day of Judgment
for our sinful lives has come in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ. All those who truly belong to Yeshua are
written in the “Lamb’s Book of Life” (Phil. 4:3; Rev. 3:5; 13:8, 17:8; 20:12, 15; 21:27; 22:19) Yom Kippur is
also a time of joy for us, since we have a good and final sealing in the Lamb’s Book of Life because of Jesus
Christ, our Great High Priest!

PRESS ON TOWARDS THE GOAL

The blowing of the trumpet or Shofar on the Feast of Trumpets is meant to jolt as from our spiritual
slumber, “Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you” (Eph. 5:14). And as the
trumpets are blown for the camp of Israel to set out or move on (Numbers 10:5-6), we are also called to
move on and press towards the goal to which God has called us - to be conformed to the likeness of his Son Jesus
(Philippians 3:14; Romans 8:29).

During the Ten Days of Awe, let us set our hearts to move closer with God and walk with Him in a
deeper level of intimacy. Like Paul, let us desire to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the
fellowship of sharing in His sufferings, becoming like Him in his death (Philippians 3:10).

RETURN TO THE LORD

In the Ten Days of Awe, also known as the Jewish High Holy Days, the theme is teshuvah, a word
often translated as "repentance," though it's more accurately understood as turning back (shuv) to God. In
the ancient Greek translation of the Jewish Scriptures, shuv is translated using the word strepho, which
means to turn around, or to turn back to God. The call of the prophet Isaiah in Isaiah 55:6-8 is considered
thematic for this season:

“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil
man his thoughts. Let him turn to the Lord and he will have mercy on him and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways’, declares the Lord.”

SEEKING GOD AND THE TEN COMMANDMENTS

As we set our hearts to seek the Lord by forsaking our wicked and evil thoughts and ways and turn to
Him, the Ten Commandments of God is most appropriate to guide us in the Days of Awe. According to
Jewish sages, it is on the Day of Atonement when Moses finally descended from Mt. Sinai with the second
set of tablets of the Ten Commandments in hand and the assurance of God's forgiveness after Israel broke
the covenant by worshiping the golden calf (Exodus 34:4-10).

In Psalm 119, to seek God with all our heart is to walk according to the law of the Lord:

“Blessed are they whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord. Blessed are they who keep
his statutes and seek him with all their heart” (v.1-2)

“I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands” (v.10)

The LORD said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites: ‘On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of
sabbath rest, a sacred assembly commemorated with trumpet blasts. Do no regular work, but present a food offering
to the LORD.’” ~ Leviticus 23:23-25

The Lord said to Moses, “The tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. Hold a sacred assembly and deny
yourselves, and present a food offering to the Lord. Do not do any work on that day, because it is the Day of Atonement, when
atonement is made for you before the Lord your God. ~ Leviticus 23:26-28

…because on this day atonement will be made for you, to cleanse you. Then, before the Lord, you will be clean from all
your sins. ~ Leviticus 16:30

TEN-DAY GUIDE and CHECKLIST

For Prayer/Fasting/Soul Searching/
Unceasing Intercession for the Nations
(September 21 – September 30, 2017)

Day 1 September 21, 2017

“I am the LORD your God.”

— Ex. 20:2a

Reading: Exodus 20:2a, Deuteronomy 6:1-19, Psalm 139:23-24

Reflection: Many of the Jewish sages taught that the greatest of all the mitzvot (commandments) is the very
first commandment, “I am the LORD your God” ( Ex. 20:2a). Why is that? Well, until we are really willing
to accept Adonai as our God, the rest of the commandments are not likely to be obeyed. The God of Israel is
calling us to obey the glorious truth that He is our God. Are we willing to obey?

Allow the Lord to search your heart. Is there anything or anyone that has become number one in your life
apart from God? God is calling us to pledge allegiance to the Lordship of Jesus Christ by life or death.

Psalm 139:23-24 “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive
way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

Checklist: Check ways by which you have violated God’s command.

[ ] Practiced atheism (denied existence of God) (Hebrew 11:6)
[ ] Unbelieving heart (Heb 3:12) – always doubting God –who He is (Almighty, Sovereign, Love) and
His Word; not totally trusting Him in everything

Page | 4
[ ] Not accepting a covenant relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord of every area of life but only as
Savior – believing Christ died for ones sins but not willing to die for Him (Luke 9:23-25; John
12:24-26); Not denying self (selfish desire, pleasure, plans etc.), Self is still Lord and King not
Christ; Still living for Self not for Christ who died for all ( 2 Corinthians 5:15)

Day 2 September 22, 2017

“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”

— Ex. 20:3

Reading: Exodus 20:3 Corinthians 7:1

Reflection: The second of the ten mitzvot (commandments) is, “Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.”
Why does Adonai command us not to have other gods before Him? Well, first because He is a “jealous
‫אָּ נַק‬God” (see Ex. 34:14; Deut. 4:24), which suggests that He watches us lovingly and closely, like a faithful
and passionate bridegroom watches over his betrothed. He loves us and has given Himself to us passionately;
He is entirely committed to our relationship with Him.
Ask the Lord if He wants you to get rid of anything in your life that is not pleasing to Him. Are there personal
hobbies or preferences that have robbed your heart away from God? Then that has become your idol. Is there
anyone who “controls” your heart, the control that rightfully belongs to your Master? That
“person” has become an idol. Worship God today and declare Him to be the King and Lord of your life.

Checklist: Check ways by which you have violated God’s command.

[ ] Not trusting in God alone. Trusting in God and at the same time trusting someone or something
else (e.g. personal accomplishment /experiences, savings and investments, position, connections,
padrino). In the past, I trusted in __________________________________________________.

[ ] Not giving God wholehearted and undivided devotion. Devoted to God but at the same time
devoted (spending much thought, time, energy and resources) to a person, idea, interest or thing
(e.g. money, material possession, recreation, ministry, hobby, food). In the past, I made an ‘idol’ of
___________________________________________________________________________.

[ ] Prayed, worshiped, dedicated life or made vows to idols (e.g. Sto. Niño, Black Nazarene, Lady of
Peñafrancia, Lady of Manaoag, Virgen de la Regla). Specify: ____________________________.

[ ] Involved or practiced witchcraft and other occult activities (e.g. latin prayers, fortune telling,
panggagamot, use of anting-anting). Specify: ________________________________________.

[ ] Practiced animism (worshiped animals, trees, stones, body of water, etc) and ancestral worship.
Specify: ____________________________________________________________________.

[ ] Worshiped gods of false religion (e.g. Buddhism - dragon, Taoism – kung fu; karate, Islam,
Hinduism-yoga, other Eastern religions). Specify:____________________________________.

[ ] Joined a cult group (e.g. PBMA, Freemasonry, INC,Dating Daan, Rizalista, New Age).
Specify: ___________________________________________________________________.

[ ] Called on and communicated to spirit of dead person, spirits- dwende, engkanto, spirit guide and
others. Specify: _____________________________________________________________.

[ ] Devoted self to satanically inspired – music, entertainment and computer /video games
(e.g. Lady Gaga; Incubus, harry Potter, Dota) Specify: _______________________________.

[ ] Involved in satanic practices, magic, rituals, ceremonies, sacrifices.

Specify: __________________________________________________________________.

Day 3 September 23, 2017

“Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.”
— Ex. 20:7a

Reading: Exodus 20:7a, Philippians 2:9-11

Reflection: The third of the ten mitzvot (commandments) is, “Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD
thy God in vain” (KJV). Many of the Jewish sages taught that the word translated “name” powerfully refers
to the character or reputation of the one who bears it. The revealed name of the LORD— thus can be
understood as the invocation for the very presence of God Himself. The word translated “in vain” probably
comes from another word that pictures a rushing and destructive storm (sho-ah). One way to understand this
mitzvah, then, is that we should never invoke Adonai’s name in a thoughtless, careless, or “stormy” manner
(for this reason, orthodox Jews never pronounce the literal name, but substitute the word “Adonai” or
“HaShem” instead).

When we call upon the LORD, we are actually invoking the one true God of the universe to manifest Himself
to us. Since God is faithful and will be true to His name, He will really be present whenever He is called. This
is serious business, and we should never take it lightly.

Have you used the name of the Lord in vain? Remember, when someone calls himself a Christian, he is
already witnessing for Christ – for or against Him. Have you truly given glory to the Name of Him whom we
exalt in our songs? Have you committed the sin of levity – using God’s name in senseless frivolity, in jokes,
or in simple “harmless” expressions? Let God’s Name be exalted in your life.

Checklist: Check ways by which you have violated God’s command.

[ ] Spoken directly against God (blasphemy)

[ ] Spoken irreverently about God (e.g. “the man upstairs”; “yun nasa itaas”)
[ ] Used cursing expressions (e.g. “G-d D-mn it”) or using His name as a common curse word (“s-
smaryosep”, “ Oh my God”)
[ ] Used expressions without really meaning it (e.g. “Praise the Lord”) with our lips but not with our
hearts
[ ] Idle vow - casually saying, “I swear,” or “I swear to God.” (Matt 5:37)
[ ] False vow – made a promise without any intention to keep it from the start (e.g. perjury) Lev 19:12
[ ] Broken vows – did not fulfill vows (e.g. promissory note, marriage vow, business contract, personal
promises made to people) Matt 5:33-35
[ ] Used God’s name to advance own agenda
[ ] Praying but not believing (1 John 5:10)
[ ] Called ourselves Christian but lived an ungodly lifestyle

Day 4 September 24, 2017

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.”

— Ex. 20:8

Reading: Exodus 20:8, Hebrews 10:23-25

Reflection:The fourth of the ten mitzvot (commandments) is, “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy”
(KJV). The word translated “remember” (zah-khor) means more than merely recalling something past, but
suggests actively focusing the mind upon something in the present. But what are we to
“remember?”

In Genesis 2:3, we are told that God rested (shavat) from His creative activity and set apart the seventh day
as the memorial of the work of His hands. God called the seventh day “holy” (kadosh), which means set apart
as sacred, as exalted, as honored.

Just as the Lord set apart a time to focus on and honor the marvelous works of His hands, so we are
commanded to regularly set apart a time to focus on and honor our own creative life in God. Notice that
both God and man are to set apart the Sabbath and share in the glory of this shared creative life.

Some Jewish sages believe that the Sabbath is a picture of the Olam Ha Bah, or world to come. In the present
rhythm of this life, however, the Sabbath is a sacred time to become spiritually re-connected with our true
identities as God’s very children.

Have you committed to spend time with God on a regular basis? Have you faithfully gathered with fellow
believers to worhsip God in a local church? Have you (especially workers in the ministry) given your body
the rest it requires? Remember that God designed you to put time aside for “refreshing.” This applies both
to your spiritual life and physical life. Even families should spend “Sabbath” together to bring refreshing to
relationships. Parents who have dedicated their children to God made a pledge to “faithfully bring them into the
house of God, faithfully pray for and with them, and faithfully bring them up in the knowledge of God” yet many Christian
parents cannot even fulfill the act of bringing their children to the assembly of believers, which the writer of
Hebrews told us not to neglect.

Checklist: Check ways by which you have violated God’s command.

[ ] Did not make the seventh day or Sabbath (Saturday) holy - set it apart, dedicated it to the Lord – a
day to focus, draw near to God and reconnect with Him (Ezekiel 22:26)
[ ] Breaking the Sabbath by “going your own way” (Isa 58:13)( e.g. not resting/ceasing from regular
work or daily activities, doing business, buying and selling)
[ ] Breaking the Sabbath by “ doing as you please” (Isa 58:13) (e.g. ‘leisure’ time, personal hobby and
interest, TV and other forms of worldly entertainment, sports)
[ ] Breaking the Sabbath by “ speaking idle words” (Isa 58:13) (e.g. discussing business matters or
deals, business contracts, planning )
[ ] Breaking the Sabbath by having a wrong attitude (“When will the . . . Sabbath be ended that we
may market wheat?” Amos 8:5) rather than making it a delight (Isa 58:13)
[ ] Not regularly gathering together as a family to give thanks, praise and worship to God and study,
reflect and meditate on His Word (Lev 19:3)

Day 5 September 25, 2017

“Honor thy father and thy mother.”

— Ex. 20:12a

Reading: Exodus 20:12a, Malachi 4:5-6

Reflection:The fifth mitzvah (commandment) marks a transition from the first four (which have to do with
our vertical relationship with the Lord) to the following five (which have to do with our horizontal relationship
with others). In this pivotal commandment, the word translated “honor” (kah-bed) derives from a root word
meaning “weighty,” in terms of impressiveness or importance. The same word is also used to refer to our
heartfelt attitude toward God.

The Lord intended that the mishpakah (family) would picture His relationship with us. Just as God created
both man and woman in His image (Gen. 1:27), so children are to regard their parents as divinely ordained
and truly significant.

The first four mitzvot tell us about God; and it is only through obedience to these commandments that we
are able to really understand our own identity — as well as the identity of others in our family, our community,
and our world.

Evaluate your relationship or attitude towards your parents and others who are in authority over you (church,
work, school). Is there anything that we need to confess to God regarding our attitude? Have you honored
your parents? Any seed of rebellion that needs to be rooted out? Any display of ungratefulness for the things
they have done for you (We usually think of what they have not done for us.). Today, show your parents,
stepparents, or guardians how much they mean to you. God promises a blessing to us if we honor our father
and mother.

Checklist: Check ways by which you have violated God’s command.

[ ] Disobeyed parents by being stubborn and rebellious (Deut 21:18-21). Specify acts of rebellion:
________________________________________________________________________
[ ] Cursed parents (Exo 21:17) (e.g. talking back disrespectfully, silently cursing them, not speaking
well of them to others)
[ ] Physically attacked and harmed them (Exo 21:15)
[ ] Stolen money or something from them ( Prov 19:26; 28:24)
[ ] Neglected them, did not show love, care and appreciation to them at their old age (Prov 23;22)

Page | 9
Day 6 September 26, 2017

“Thou Shalt Not Kill”

— Ex. 20:13

Reading: Exodus 20:13, 1 John 3:15

Reflection: The Jewish sages note that the word “ratsakh” applies only to illegal killing (e.g., premeditated
murder or manslaughter) — and is never used in the administration of justice or for killing in war. Hence the
KJV translation as “thou shalt not kill” is too broad.

Since man is made in the image of God, his life is infinitely precious — only God Himself has the right to
give and take life. In theMishnah it is written, “Why was only one man (i.e., Adam) created by God? — to
teach that whoever takes a single life destroys thereby a whole world.”

But murder can be figurative as well as literal. The Talmud notes that shaming another publicly is like murder,
since the shame causes the blood to leave the face. Moreover, gossip or slander are considered murderous to
the dignity of man. The Pirkei Avot (Ethics of the Fathers) states, “The evil tongue slays three persons: the
utterer of the evil, the listener, and the one spoken about…” The Lord Jesus also linked the ideas of our
words and attitudes with murder (see Matt. 15:19).

1 John 3:15 says that hating our brother is synonymous with murder. One may not have committed actual
murder, however, let God show if there is any hate or anger that needs to be confesses? Are you guilty of
bitterness? Did you speak of others without love? Did you judge motives, think the worst of a situation
involving someone else and spoke cuttingly to him or her about it? If you have been holding anger or
bitterness, pray about going to the person and asking forgiveness. Be humble. The wrong they did to you
does not justify the wrong in your heart to them.

Checklist: Check ways by which you have violated God’s command.

[ ] Directly murdered someone (intentional and premeditated)

[ ] Accessory to murder (2 Sam 12:19)
[ ] Intentionally harmed and injured someone physically
[ ] Planned and/or committed abortion
[ ] Thought of and/or tried to commit suicide
[ ] Pronounced curses on self (e.g. “mabuti pa mamatay na lang ako”)
[ ] Murdered someone from the heart: intense anger (Matt 5:21-22); hatred ( 1John 3:15) and revenge (
Rom 12:19)
[ ] Murdered in the thoughts: habitual watching of violent movies and playing of violent
video/computer games (e.g. counterstrike)

Page | 10
Day 7 September 27, 2017

“Thou shalt not commit adultery.”

— Ex. 20:14

Reading: Exodus 20:14, Galatians 5:16-16

Reflection: The seventh of the ten mitzvot (commandments) is, “Thou shalt not commit adultery” (KJV).
Adultery refers to sexual union between a married person and someone other than his or her spouse. The
penalty for adultery was severe (see Dt. 22:22, Lev. 20:10).

From the verse, “The…adulterer waits for twilight saying, No eye shall see me” ( Job 24:15), the Talmud
identifies the adulterer as a practical atheist, since he does not say, No man shall see me, but no eye — neither
the eye of one below nor the eye of Him above.

The Lord Jesus identified the root condition of adultery as a problem with the heart: “For out of the heart
proceed… adulteries.” The heart’s true affections are evidenced by the use of one’s eyes (see Matt. 5:27-28).

Adultery is a grave sacrilege, since it not only violates the sworn promise of parties to a sacred covenant, but
perverts the picture of our union with God Himself. As Paul wrote to the church at Ephesus, “We are
members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother,
and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak
concerning Christ and the church” ( Eph. 5:30-32).

Is there any sexual sin (adultery, pre-marital sex, fornication, pornography, prostitution, homosexuality) that
you need to confess? The blood of Jesus washes us as white as snow. Confess to Him and allow the cleansing
power of His blood to wash you. If you need counsel or deliverance, go to your pastor or leader, to your
parents to seek covering and prayer. With the “freedom” of media, there is so much exposure to immorality
and the battle against lust is raging like wildfire. Sins of lust could cause a complete chain of sin that could
affect many lives. Ask the Lord to bring a greater sense of His presence in your life and the grace to overcome.

Checklist: Check ways by which you have violated God’s command.

[ ] Married and had sexual relation with another person

[ ] Unlawful divorce (Mark 10:11-12)
[ ] Live-in relationship
[ ] Heavy petting - caressing, kissing and/or pre-marital sex (Col 3:5)
[ ] Homosexual- gay/lesbian relationship (Rom 1:26-27)
[ ] Act of sexual violence/abuse to someone – pedophilia, incest, rape. Specify: _______________.
[ ] Prostitution
[ ] Masturbation
[ ] Bestiality – sexual acts with animals
[ ] Sex online/ cell phone
[ ] Habitual reading/watching of pornographic materials (e.g. pocket books, magazine, internet)
Specify: ___________________________________________________________________.
[ ] Peeping – ‘paninilip’
[ ] Lustful thoughts (Matt 5:27-28)

Page | 11
Day 8 September 28, 2017

“Thou shalt not steal”

— Ex. 20:15

Reading: Exodus 20:15, Malachi 3:6-12

Reflection: The eighth of the ten mitzvot (commandments) is, “Thou shalt not steal” (KJV). Stealing, in the
sense of the Hebrew word ganav, refers to both the act of carrying off by stealth that which is not one’s own
(i.e., theft), but also to the deceptive inner disposition that accompanies the action. And, ultimately, that
deceptive inner disposition is a form of self-deception.

None of us really “owns” anything at all, since God alone is the Creator and Giver of all of life. Stealing
arrogantly (and vainly) attempts to seize some “thing” and to claim it for oneself — blindly disregarding the
fact that “in Him we live and move and have our being” ( Acts 17:28). At bottom, stealing is an act based on
fear, since the attitude behind the action evidences a lack of trust that God will meet all our needs.

Can you remember taking belonging, property or money that was not rightfully yours? Did you steal from
neighbors, school, and shops or from your own home, family or relatives? Did you get anything from anyone
unfairly? Did you cheat (form of stealing) at school to pass an important test or examination or do you have
a qualification that you do not deserve? Did you rob someone of his fair share from anyone? It’s time for
confession.

Checklist: Check ways by which you have violated God’s command.

[ ] Theft, robbery and extortion including shoplifting, ‘pangungupit’

[ ] Kidnapping – human trafficking
[ ] Stealing from employers (e.g. Embezzling funds; padding expense report; taking office items or
tools, making unauthorized phone calls; stealing time – by “sick,” leaving early or arriving late)
[ ] Dishonest business practices (e.g. dishonest scales-Prov 11:1, adulterated product)
[ ] Fraud of any kind (Lev 19:13) (e.g. scam, pyramid scheme, insurance fraud)
[ ] Usury – charging excessive interest ( e.g. ‘5-6’)
[ ] Not paying debt ( Ps 37:21) or returning something we have borrowed (Prov 3:28)
[ ] Tax evasion
[ ] Robbing God by not giving to Him our tithes (Mal 3:8)

Page | 12
Day 9 September 29, 2017

“Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.”

— Ex. 20:16
Reading: Exodus 20:16

Reflection: The ninth commandment prohibits swearing falsely against your neighbor in matters of law and
civil proceedings, but, on a deeper level, it implicitly indicates the responsibility to be a witness of the truth at
all times. Note that the Hebrew word for “truth”(emet) is composed from the first, the middle, and the last
letters of the Hebrew alphabet, thus indicating that it encompasses the first things, the last

things, and everything in between. Thus, in relation to our neighbor (who is really everyone), we are to be
truthful and bear witness to the truth in all our moments of life. By lying, by bearing false testimony, we
effectively deny the relationship to the One who said, “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life.”

Any designed form of deception is lying. If you design to make an impression contrary to the naked truth,
you LIE. Dishonesty in action, word, or appearance is an abomination to God. Lies cause distrust and
suspicion. Ask the Lord to search your heart. Have we been truthful in all our dealings – personal or business
dealings? Have we honestly filled up forms? If God convicts you of any form of lie in your life, confess to
Him and resolve to right any damaging falsity of the past.

Checklist: Check ways by which you have violated God’s command.

[ ] Habitual lying or speaking falsehood ( e.g. ‘little white lies’ -1 Pet 2:2, careless lies –Prov. 26:18-19)
[ ] Mixing lies with truth by exaggeration or twisting of truth
[ ] Flattery – insincere or excessive praise (‘pambobola’) –Ps 12:1-2; Job 32:21-22
[ ] Spreading gossip or rumor (Exo. 23:1)
[ ] False teaching (1 Tim 4:1-2)

Day 10 September 30, 2017

“Thou shalt not covet…”

— Ex. 20:17a

Reading: Exodus 20:17a

Reflection: The word translated covet usually refers to selfish desire or lust (e.g., “Lust not after her beauty
in thine heart…” Prov. 6:25), and thus speaks directly to the heart’s innermost intention, which, even if
unacknowledged by ourselves, is always revealed before God: “Your Father who sees in secret” ( Mt. 6:6).
On the other hand, selfish desire can — if we are willing to be honest with ourselves — reveal to ourselves
the condition of our hearts and thus mark our need for deliverance from the power of sin: “I had not known
sin …except the law had said, ‘Thou shalt not covet’” ( Rom. 7:7).

Now here is a paradox: How can we refrain from desiring that which we, in fact, do desire? How can we be

Page | 13
made free from the endless cycle of desire-sin/desire-sin? By walking in the power of the Holy Spirit by the
grace of God through Jesus Christ: “Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh” ( Gal.
5:24).

Have you taken anything that is not rightfully yours? Have you harbored a spirit of greed and envy against
those who “have” what you feel should be yours? Have you been discontented with what the Lord has given
you at the moment and desired to have more at the expense of others? Have you withheld anything that is
supposed to be for others (gifts, benefits, etc.?

Checklist: Check ways by which you have violated God’s command.

[ ] Excessive desire to possess something especially things we do not need

[ ] Greed for more (e.g. gambling, toys, gadgets, collectible items, branded clothes, etc.
[ ] Envying others – Ps 73:1-3 (e.g. sad when others are blessed, promoted, publicly recognized)
[ ] Discontent with own situation expressed in constant complaining and grumbling

The Greatest Commandment

“And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.”
— Deut. 6:5

In Matthew 22:36 an expert in the Torah asks Jesus which of the commandments (mitvot) is the greatest of
all. Jesus’ reply at once silences all of the varied pretenses and rationalizations of human pride by stating
emphatically that the love of God is our very first duty.

CHECKLIST OF CRITICAL SINS FOR REFLECTION

Following are the critical sins that God has been revealing these past weeks. God desires for us to confess
these sins before God and to others we have wronged.

A. FOR PERSONAL SINS

1. Sins of the Lips - Repent for conduct and negative words spoken especially hurting, harsh and
critical, slanderous words spoken to others – whether people in the church, church leaders, family,
friends, other churches, non-believers, government, etc. These are sins of the heart, for “Out of the
abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.” (Matt. 12:34) LET US BE CAREFUL OF WHAT WE
SPEAK, WHAT WE SAY. The Lord recently said through Bro. Neville Johnson, “Tell My people,
the church is plagued with LEPROSY. I’m not going to tolerate her sins anymore. ” Leprosy
represents the sins of our mouth. The words that come out of your mouth will not return back to
you empty. It will perform the works that which you proclaim - good, bad or ugly. If you keep saying
to a person he will amount to no good, they will certainly amount to no good. Your words have
creative power. Don’t think you’re just jesting; don’t think you are just simply sitting down talking
jokes, be careful!

2. Pride (lack of humility) - This is expressed in various ways: criticisms which literally means
‘strangling’ a person (through his soul) to death; by thinking you are always right; by thinking you are
better than others, not acknowledging that we are what we are only by the grace of God; by
disobedience and disrespect to God-ordained authorities over our life (parents, church leaders, teachers,
government laws and officials); not willing to be corrected; not willing to admit mistakes; not willing to
apologize to people you have wronged; by not respecting other people’s opinions and beliefs, etc.

3. Broken Vows - Individual repentance regarding unfulfilled vows to God like pledges, promises,
whatever, etc. Check your heart and see, your individual heart for any vows that you made that are
not kept, any promises that you made that were not kept. This is a serious matter in the heart of God.
Be careful what vows you make. If you make a vow, you need to keep it whatever happens!

4. Broken Relationships - Being reconciled to others (Matt 5:23-24) – sins against others. Confess
sin/s to God, but also go to the person and make things right with him, be reconciled.

5. Disobedience - Let us repent for not living as true disciples of the Lord Jesus, doing our own will
and not His will, a life not dedicated to the Lord, not willing to deny ourselves daily, take up His
cross and follow Him. (Matt. 16:24) A couple, seasoned intercessors and associates of Bro. Sadhu
recently had this experience with the Lord: “As we were praying and worshipping the Lord, He turned up and
began to pray & intercede for His Church. He said that we need to pray for His church as the spirit of disobedience is
about to overcome the church. It is coming like a flood. He asked for us to pray for God's grace to come to His church
in order for her to be able to obey and persevere till the end. We saw Him crying and praying much until we finished
the meeting.”

Have self-assessment and accountability for the choices (both good and bad) made in the previous
year. Confess bad decisions not made according to God’s will, way and timing.

6. Disobedience to the Ten Commandments - The Lord also gave this warning recently in an IFP
meeting as they waited on the Lord. Ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart for any violation of
Page | 15
the Ten Commandments, to recap: (1) Have no other God in your life (idolatry like money, worldly
entertainment, power, fame, etc., not loving and honoring God with all your heart; (2) Making and worshipping
idols or images of God; (3) Taking the Name of God in vain (light-heartedly or in joking); (4) To keep
the Sabbath Day holy unto the Lord [Note: God is emphasizing this.];
(5) Honor your parents, (6) Do not kill (ABORTION, taking birth control pills, etc. ) (7) Do not commit
adultery, (8) Stealing, (9) Bearing false witness against other people, and (10) Coveting your neighbor/s
goods or wife.

7. Murmuring & Complaining regarding your life’s situations - Let us repent for murmuring against
our good God, for He is faithful to us; He will never leave us nor forsake us; He is our present help in
times of need. Paul admonishes us to give thanks to God in everything, for this is the will of God
concerning you, whether it is a good or bad situation. (1Thess. 5:18)

8. Unbelief - Likewise, let us repent for unbelief, not having faith in the love, goodness and faithfulness of
God to us. These end times are days when we need ‘great faith’ in God [actually ‘Have the faith of God’ (Mk.
11:22-23) to accomplish mighty exploits for His glory.

9. Lust & Sexual Immorality (spirit of Ashteroth) - Let us repent of all lustful and sexually immoral thoughts
and acts including watching pornographic materials in print or on the Internet. Our body is the temple
of the Holy Spirit. (1Cor. 6:19) God wants us to keep our body chaste, pure and holy. Don’t allow the
enemy to desecrate your flesh, to corrupt your morals.

10. Succumbing to fear and intimidation of enemy (Jezebel spirit) - The enemy in these End-times will try
to intimidate and scare us, to hinder us from fulfilling our mandate from the Lord. Let us repent for the
times when we succumb to this Jezebel spirit.

11. Lukewarmness - Let us repent for not wholly loving, obeying God and seeking first the kingdom of
God in our life. Let us repent for being half-hearted in our walk with the Lord, having divided hearts
between God and worldliness.

12. Not Tithing - Let us repent for stealing from God by not giving our Tithes and Offerings to Him for
the work in His kingdom.

13. People who abandoned God

People who abandoned their churches
People who abandoned their children, their wives, their husbands
People who abandoned their gender (Homosexuality)

A faithful Youth leader had this vision and dream from the Lord recently: And in a dream I was caught up
in a spiritual place where I myself like I'm a spirit. I saw same angel who I encounter in my prayer. In that dream there
were three angels about 12 feet tall, their personality looks very strong. And I saw one of those angels who I think their
Leader was the same angel who came into my room. That angel pointed his finger to a certain place and started to bring
judgment upon it; then the whole place was consumed by fire. Then one angel approached me and gave me a scroll with list
of sins written in green and it also glows. Every time I read those words it pops up and became huge words. These are the
sins I read: People who abandoned God, people who abandoned their churches, People who abandoned their Children, People
who abandoned their wives, People who abandoned their husbands, People who abandoned their Gender. Then an angel
shouted with a loud voice “God is judging those places who abandoned their men and women.” Then I woke up and started
to pray and the Holy Spirit is revealing that judgment will soon begin in the house of the Lord since the people in that dream
referred to the Christians who are in the church and yet practice this abomination and the ministers who tolerate such sin.

14. Other sins (of commission and omission) as the Holy Spirit reveals to you - Ask the Holy Spirit
Page | 16
to deeply search your hearts for any sin, especially hidden sins, sins only you know. Repent of all
these and ask for the washing of the precious blood of the Lord Jesus.

B. FOR SINS IN THE FAMILY

1. Broken Relationships in the family - Repent for all the hurting negative words spoken against each
other in anger, irritation, frustration. These are like curses imposed upon each other.

2. Unfaithfulness to one another - Repent for being unfaithful in fulfilling our God-ordained roles to
each other as given in the Word of God, especially love and respect – between husbands and wives,
between parents and children

3. No Family Altar - The angel of the Lord said, ”Build an altar in your house. Build an altar, a prayer altar.
The altar that is broken down in your house, rebuild it up. Set up an altar in your house where the family can gather
together and pray.” If you build an altar unto the Lord, it will become a place where God will meet you.
It will become the house of bread and it will become a place where there is an open heaven. The
angels will ascend and descend.

4. Parents not teaching and training their children in holiness - The Lord gave a word to Bro.
Sadhu Selvaraj regarding this, directed toward children, babies right up to twelve years old, thirteen
years old. “Train your children to walk in the ways of God. Teach your children to walk in the ways of God.
Don’t give the excuse, “They are so small, they know nothing.” Even if you have a baby, speak the Word to them.
Play the Word of God to them continually so that their spirit-man can listen to the Word of God. It will go into their
spirit and transform them into a son or daughter of God. When you speak the Word to your children or when you play
a cd of the Word of God, when your children are listening, light from the Word will flood their soul and it will create
a temple for the Holy One to come and abide in them. Teach your children to eschew evil, to hate evil, and to walk in
holiness. It is the duty of the parents to teach them to walk in holiness.”

C. FOR SINS IN YOUR CHURCH & THE BODY OF CHRIST

1. Let us repent for the SIN OF OUR LIPS, criticizing, slandering our spiritual leaders and the brethren
instead of loving them, building them up, being an encouragement to them.

2. Let us repent for the INFIGHTINGS, DIVISION, PRIDE.

3. The Lord gave a word for the church, “PUT AWAY ALL THE DROSS, all the chaff, all the unfruitful
branches and trees away from your midst. Do not compromise on the standards of the living God in your midst. If you
will lift up an ensign for righteousness and holiness in your midst, truly the glory of God will rise upon you like the Sun
of Righteousness.”

4. SIN OF DISOBEDIENCE to the expressed will, instructions and warnings of the Lord.

5. SIN OF PRESUMPTION, presuming to speak for God, misrepresenting His thoughts and desires,
offering strange and unauthorized fire and smoke to God without seeking and truly knowing God’s
will and desires.

6. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any other sins in the church which hinder the move of God in your
church and the Body of Christ.

Page | 17
D. FOR SINS IN YOUR COMMUNITY & THE NATION

1. Let us repent of the 7 major sins of the land – sins of the people and the princes (the 8 Pillars of
Society): IDOLATRY, SEXUAL IMMORALITY (adultery, incest, pre-marital sex, prostitution,
homosexuality, etc.), LOVE FOR MONEY (corruption, bribery, cheating, gambling, etc.), WITCHCRAFT
(practices like spiritism, mediums, trances, horoscope, fortune telling, feng shui,) BLOODSHED (abortion, use of
birth control pills, murders) and OPPRESSION (injustice, lawlessness, etc.)

Additional Prayer Items
A. THE FULLNESS OF TIME HAS COME FOR THE PHILIPPINES – THERE’S A
COMING HARVEST
The Glory of God left the nations, including the Philippines, at the end of the Charismatic Movement
in the 70’s, but it is returning now especially to the Philippines. The Philippines in God's purposes is a
lighthouse to surrounding nations, key to Asia. She is a prophetic people, a chosen nation, sheep nation,
a crowned nation. God has promised MIGHTY FIRES OVER THE PHILIPPINES. Command these
fires to come over all the provinces of the Philippines.

1. Pray that God’s glory, kingdom and goodness be upon the Philippines and the Filipinos, so that she
might be an inheritance for the Lord Jesus. Pray that the Throne of God be strongly established in
the Philippines in these last days.
2. Pray that God will sanctify us, set us apart for His End Times purposes, that we might prepare the
way, that His Kingdom be established in our beloved nation before the Second Coming of the Lord
Jesus.
3. Pray for the mighty outpouring of the SPIRIT OF SUPPLICATION & PRAYER upon the
churches. When God's people come desperation, God intervenes.
4. Pray for the mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the SPIRIT OF GRACE, so that millions will be
saved from sin and hell in this season as God has promised. The Harvest will begin to come in. Be
glad you children of Zion. There's a Harvest coming; it's going to come - keep asking, keep knocking,
keep interceding.
- Pray that God will utterly demolish the principalities and powers (God promised that this is the
season for that as we pray) holding the Filipinos and our nation in bondage – wicked spirits of
pride, idolatry, immorality, bloodshed, witchcraft, corruption, injustice and poverty.
- Pray that Filipinos all over the world become sons of God with an End time mission wherever
they are.
5. Declare the GLORY OF GOD over our nation, the 4 p’s (princes, people, prophets and priests),
the 8 Pillars of our Society (family, church, government, economy, education, science & technology,
media, arts & entertainment). Command the angels of the Lord assigned holding these pillars to
battle the principality leave our nation.
6. Pray that all believers will have SPIRITUAL AWARENESS (of God, angels, etc.); it is a must now,
it’s a key. God wants to bring you to a place where the eyes of your spirit are open to the Spirit
Realm.
Pray that we will all learn to WAIT ON GOD, spending much time in His Presence –
worshipping, fellowshipping with Him and praying. We are a generation that will seek the face of
God, walk in everything and more than Old Testament walked in.
7. Pray for PRESENCE-DRIVEN CHURCHES, with manifest, felt, life-changing Presence of God
that will draw sinners to the churches.
8. Pray that the CHURCHES WILL BE READY AND PREPARED to handle, take care of and
disciple and train the coming Harvests as God’s Army for His last days’ purposes. Big venues will
be needed for church services. Time to translate your teaching materials to other languages. The
storehouses have got to be ready.
Pray for God to raise up disciplers/trainors, godly managers who will handle logistics of this Great
Revival & Harvest, and millions of Cell Leaders who will look after the new believers. Thank the
Lord that we will never lack for every good thing that He will ask us to do. God said it and He will
do it.

Page | 19
B. LEADERSHIP
1. There will be very, very large churches in the Philippines. We are the key to Asia. Pray for our
LEADERS AND PASTORS for they will have their hands full in the coming months and years.
Pray for God’s strength, spirit of wisdom and revelation, grace, ability to hear what God is wanting
them to do, deliverance from temptations and attacks of the enemies, to face the challenges ahead
from both God and the horrific enemies that will soon manifest themselves.
2. Pray for the spirit of humility, love and unity of the Spirit among the churches, that we might be one
in doing God’s mighty End Time work, building God’s kingdom and not our own church anymore.
3. Pray for the gift of discernment upon them that they might recognize what is of God and what is
from the enemies (many deceptions, calamities).

C. ONWARDS TO MT. ZION, AN OPEN HEAVEN

1. Pray for God’s promised Restoration upon us and the Philippines.
2. Pray that there will be saviors, anointed ones of God, sons of destiny to rescue the world, to regain
this planet before the return of the Lord Jesus.
3. Pray that God will release to each believer a sense of their destiny in these last days, that they will
know what God wants them to do for His kingdom.
4. Pray for the coming of the seraphims (spirits of fire and burning) to purify, cleanse and heal believers
and churches all over the Philippines, that we might all be sanctified, that our bodies, souls and
spirits be transfigured by God for His End Time purposes, that we will consecrate, dedicate our lives
in the service of the King.
5. Pray that God will open, sanctify and anoint all our spiritual senses (eyes, ears, nose, smell, touch)
for His kingdom work.
6. Pray that we will now reap for every good deed (love, prayers, compassion, help, etc.) that we have
sown for God and people. God says that this is now the season for that.

D. PREPARING OUR LIVES FOR THE COMING EXCITING BUT SCARY DAYS
Great darkness and great glory are coming together. Things are going to happen all over the world –
terrible hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, asteroids and meteors falling, wicked spirits from the bottomless
pit, nephilims, new strange deadly diseases, rioting, killings, wars, famines, persecution, etc. But Jesus says,
‘If you listen to what I say, I will protect you, keep you in the eye of the storm where there is peace.’

1. Pray that 24-HR HOUSES OF PRAYER will be established all over the Philippines to pray that
these calamities upon the Philippines will either be averted or at least mitigated.
2. Pray that all believers and churches will have a DISCIPLINED PRAYER LIFE. This is critical, if
you are going to face the coming horrific days in the Lord’s grace and protection. If we pray, He
will grant us ears that hear and He will surely instruct, guide us what to do and shield us from all
calamities and pestilences. Each one of us will have to learn to hear from God ourselves to receive
His individual guidance in times of coming calamities. God will surely warn and instruct us.
3. WATCH and PRAY and LISTEN TO GOD so that His FAITH will be imparted to you, ready to
face all these challenges in the last days.
4. Pray that we will know the times and seasons in God's agenda, be updated on the coming moves of
the enemy as will be revealed to His prophets and us directly as we wait on the Lord. Pray that
believers will abide in the Secret Place of the Most High through reading His Word to obtain His
rhema word for us and prayer.

E. OUR MANDATE - BRINGING HEAVEN DOWN TO EARTH

1. Our purpose is not just to reach heaven, but to bring heaven to earth. Pray that believers and
churches all over the Philippines will have a revelation of this mandate, and act thereon by the
Page | 20
wisdom, power and grace of God.
2. Pray that we shall be able, by the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit, to manifest and bring
heaven and the kingdom of God to the Philippines and our respective places – healing the sick,
casting out demons, raising the dead, peace of God, His righteousness, joy, love, goodness,
protection, etc.
3. Pray that our spirit man will be strengthened through spending time in God’s Presence, reading His
Word to get our manna (rhema word) from heaven, through praying in tongues edifying our spirit
to be able to do all of God’s work assigned to us.

F. OUR MAIN PURPOSE ON EARTH IS TO BE CONFORMED TO THE IMAGE OF JESUS

(Growing Up and Passing Tests)
1. God wants a family to rule his kingdom not just now but eternally. TRAINING FOR REIGNING
- not with gifts but learning to become like Jesus. Having gifts is not being spiritual or matured.
Christ in us and through us is the only hope of glory. Christianity is about CHRIST-LIKE
QUALITIES IN US. That's the primary reason why we are here.
- Pray that believers all over the Philippines will know this and submit themselves to God’s
transforming work through training and testings. Tests are for transforming character and
preparing you for your role in God's kingdom in the years to come.
- God’s purpose is to raise up matured sons and daughters who will manifest His nature and glory.
Pray that we will indeed become these matured sons and daughters.
2. Pray that we will, with all endurance , patience and faith, all pass these tests and graduate with honors
as matured sons of God ready to do His will and manifest His glory.
3. Lord said, 'When I can walk in your garden you CAN WALK IN MY GARDEN.’ A garden has
nice fragrances; that's how it should be inside. So pray that we will put our inner garden in order -
love, joy, peace, meekness, gentleness, lowliness, humility, etc. – so that we will smell and look
glorious to God and the spirit realm.
