New Martial Arts Maneuvers

Inner Toughness (Minor)

This maneuver allows the martial artist to channel his chi to resist physical
damage. The martial artist receives a +5 Toughness vs. melee weapons, unarmed
combat (including martial arts), missile weapons, and falling damage. In
addition, the first Wound suffered is translated into 3 shock points. The martial
artist may only actively defend while employing this maneuver and it may not be
used in consecutive rounds.
Slap (Minor)
This maneuver causes normal martial arts damage (STR+2), but causes an
automatic Knockdown result. If the martial artist scores an normal Knockdown
result, the target suffers an additional 3 shock points. This maneuver may not be
used in consecutive rounds.
Immovability (Minor)
When the martial artist invokes this maneuver, he becomes immune to
Knockdown results. In addition, the martial artist increase his effective mass by
his martial arts adds to resist any force which would move him against his will.
For example, if the martial artist has a weight value of 9 and 5 adds in martial
arts, then this maneuver allows the martial artist to resist being lifted, carried,
pushed, or otherwise forced out of position as if he had a weight value of 14. This
maneuver can be maintained for a number of rounds equal to the martial arts
adds. After using this maneuver, the martial artist must wait at least 15 minutes
before attempting it again.
Iron Cloth (Minor)
This maneuver allows the martial artist to transfer his chi into cloth or similar
material rendering it as hard as iron. The hardened cloth may be used as a melee
weapon (+4/20) by the martial artist.
Pebble Toss (Minor)
This maneuver is usually employed with a melee weapon, but can be employed by
unarmed martial artists. The martial artists channels his chi into his weapon,
digging the point into the ground and hurls debris at his opponent. The martial
artist uses his martial arts Total as the Acting Value, and the results are read on
the Trick column on the Interaction Table.
Reverse Kick (Minor)
The martial artist may attack any target behind him with no penalty, inflicting
STR+4 damage.
Iron Skin (Major)
Like inner toughness, this maneuver allows the martial artist to resist physical
attacks, granting him a +5 bonus to Toughness. However, unlike inner toughness,
iron skin permits the martial artist to resist all forms of physical damage with this
increased Toughness, including energy weapons, fire combat, heavy weapons,
fire, explosions, and magical attacks which inflict damage through physical means
such as lightning, bullet, or altered fireballs. Once invoked, the maneuver may be
maintained for a maximum number of rounds equal to the martial artist's adds in
martial arts. The martial artist must recuperate at least three rounds after using
the maneuver before attempting it again.
Reverse Damage (Major)
This maneuver is used as an active defense against unarmed or melee attacks
(including martial arts). The maneuver is not effective against missile weapons
or fire combat. The martial artist compares his martial arts Total against his
opponent's Acting Value, and if the martial artists total is higher, the attacker
suffers normal damage +2 from his own attack.
Iron Will (Master)
This art renders the martial artist immune to interactive results and grants a +10
modifier to resist all other forms of mental influence for as long as it is
maintained. The martial artist is also immune to the effects of Inclination
Detection and Inclination Seduction. While maintaining this discipline the martial
artist is even immune to the effects of the Power of Fear--however, if the effects
of the Power of Fear extend beyond the duration of iron will, the full effects of the
Power of Fear are experienced. This maneuver may be maintained for a number
of minutes equal to the martial artist's adds in martial arts. The martial artist
must wait one hour between uses of this maneuver as it is extremely draining of
his personal chi. Finally, when the discipline is relaxed, the martial artist suffers
physical damage equal to a value of 12 plus the measure of the time the maneuver
was maintained. If the martial artist receives a Wound, KO, or is rendered
unconscious from shock, the martial artist cannot invoke this power for 24 hours.
Each use of this maneuver costs the martial artist 1 Possibility.
Immobilize (Master)
This maneuver allows the martial artist to completely paralyze a target. A
paralyzed victim cannot make any conscious action while immobilized as the
maneuver affects the body, mind, and spirit of the target. The maneuver can be
used as a physical attack, in which case the martial artist compares his martial
arts Skill Total against the target's Spirit. For each Success Level the martial artist
acheives, the target is paralyzed for one round. If the target is wearing armor, the
martial artist must make a success Vital Blow against the target in order to touch
bare flesh (no bonus to damage). The physical attack has no effect on incorporeal,
fleshless, or unliving constructs such as golems or undead.
This maneuver may also be employed as a kiai, which can affect non-corporeal
creatures. When using the kiai, the martial artist generates a Spirit Total and
compares it against the target's Spirit. For each Success Level the martial artist
acheives, the target is paralyzed for one round. The kiai has a range in meters
equal to the martial artist's martial arts Skill Value and affects a single target.
The kiai in ineffective against the mindless, the deaf, or those isolated from
sound. Each use of this maneuver cost the martial artist 2 Possibilities.
