2018 Summer Activities

Pre-Schoolers and Kindergarten (ENTERING F ALL 2018)

THE FOLLOWING ARE SUMMER PROGRAMS OFFERED FOR CHILDREN AGES 1-4 and FALL KINDERGARTENERS. REGISTRATION IS ON-
GOING until classes are filled. There is a minimum and maximum for each class. CHILDREN MUST BE AGE STATED BY FIRST
CLASS MEETING. All participants in instructional classes must be registered members of the RVC Recreation Department for
the June 1, 2018 - May 31, 2019 fiscal year. Residents- $24 Non-residents- $26. Register at the Recreation Dept. office
located at the John A. Anderson Recreation Center. Complete the registration form on the reverse side and mail to
address above or submit in person with fee. Classes for age 3 and older are without parent or adult accompaniment.
Registration begins March 26 for residents of RVC and April 2 for non-residents. NO REFUNDS!

INTRODUCTION TO GYMNASTICS: Instructors: Heather Knoch, Karen O’Connor and staff

An introduction to Gymnastics apparatus, including tumbling, balance beam, uneven bars and vault.

TUMBLE-TIME ONES - TWOS and

Introductory movement activity with a gymnastics
flair, geared to the developmental stages of children
ages 18-35 months (T1-2) and 36-48 months (T3).
Child must be age stated when class begins.

SPORTY 3’s (Just for Fun) and SPORTY 4’s: A program for boys and girls ages 3 and 4 (by July 1). Children
will be introduced to age-appropriate sports activities through lead-up games and obstacle courses
presented in the upper gymnasium.

Option: Combine with “Play With Me” for an afternoon of fun and games!
NEW
PLAY WITH ME: A new program for boys and girls ages 3 and 4 (by July 1). Keep your child’s
love of learning alive this summer, as your pre-schooler learns through guided play-based activities. Children
will socialize with their peers during story time and cooperative play in a classroom setting.
MONDAYS: Age 3: 1:30-2:15pm Age 4: 12:35-1:20pm Meets on July 2, 9, 16, 23, 30

Option: Combine with “Sporty 3’s or 4’s” for an afternoon of fun and games!

FALL NURSERY SCHOOL – September 2018 – June 2019

There are limited openings in some of our nursery school classes for the Fall. Inquire at the office for specific
availability. A deposit of $200 will be accepted to save a place in this 36 week program.
TIME FOR TWO’S Nursery Program for Two-Year-Olds! Our 4th year of this innovative Nursery School program for
children who will be Two-Years-Old on or before September 30, 2018. Call the office or check out our website for
further information.
SUMMER 2018 NURSERY SCHOOL
The Recreation Department offers a fun-filled summer nursery program for children entering Kindergarten in 2018
and 2019. Classes meet five or four days a week from 9:00-11:30am. See the detailed flyer for further information.

SUMMER BIRTHDAY PARTIES: Birthday parties are offered Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays 4:00-5:30pm; and Fridays
2:00-3:30 and 4:00-5:30pm; Saturdays 10:00am and 12:00pm, from June 27 to August 11 (Center is closed on July 4).
